Always good. The prices have gone up $1 since last year. It's okay, though. It's usually busy at any time you visit. Mostly during the winter. It's small inside and you need to park far unless you get lucky and park in front. Taste of the tamales de elite is amazing. The champurrado is good too!

This place never disappoints..always great service an the food always good ..the place is small ..hole in the wall ..parking is small but it's worth the drive ..

Let me start by saying when coming here it's going to be a mission to find parking. Even if you come before they open at 6:00 am. So be aware. After you find parking it's now a wait for the tamales. After coming here for a few years now it's a good tip to preorder if you don't have time and your parked in the red zone. But aside from the parking these tamales are worth the hassle. La Dona is a machine cranking out fresh tamales all day. Tamales have nice and soft masa and great flavor. On the weekends they have sweet tamales and menudo aside from the regular pork, chicken, cheese, beef, and elote tamales. Nowadays the tamales run $2.07 each. Still a little cheaper then most other places. Maybe the best tamale place around this neck of the woods in my opinion.

These tamales are so good. They might be a little small but that's OK. They're decently priced delicious. I would go back again and again.

The brown butter chocolate chip cookie was a standout--really delicious and worth going back for. On the other hand, the churro-flavored cookie and the chocolate chip walnut cookie didn't do it for me. They were a bit lacking in flavor, and I personally prefer my cookies to have that crispy-on-the-outside, chewy-on-the-inside texture. These were softer than I like, but that could just come down to preference. One thing I did really like is that they give full cookie samples, not just tiny bites--that's a nice touch and shows confidence in their product. Service was very good, friendly, and welcoming. Overall, I'd come back to try more of their cakes and definitely get the brown butter chocolate chip cookie again.

I think these breads and pastries are nice, but what brings the fifth star is when they use their breads for sandwiches. My wife ordered a blanco toast, which had ricotta, avocado, and a bunch more flavor bombs over freshly baked sourdough toast. I highly recommend their 'works" bagel sandwich. I had it on a sesame seed bagel with a very tasty scallion cream cheese. What made it amazing was their use of perfectly ripened, sweet heirloom tomato, thinly sliced red onions, briny capers, delicious olive oil, and fresh dill, that gave perfect balance and perfect seasoning. We sat at a communal bench/table to enjoy our breakfast items (which they stop serving after 10:30); however, we noticed that others were eating some delicious-looking sandwiches served on their fresh baguettes. I know that I have to come back for those!

I'm extremely happy they have found a brick and mortar spot, because the at home bakery was getting a little wild. If you're curious about this mom and pop bakery, they create delicious traditional pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread), all artisanal, meaning it's all made by hand and with quality ingredients. They've been mentioned and written about on Telemundo, LA eater, La Opinion, even food influencers have been in. Yes, their bread is that good. You might say they don't have a various amount of selection, okay fine, I get your point, BUT you need to take into account that this bread is HAND MADE! and yes, EVERYDAY. This isn't your typical standardized pan dulce either, it's curated from a small pueblo in Copala Mexico, that the owner has spent all her life crafting to get the flavors right. Some breads have unique names such as gusanitos, niños, and borrachos-- but don't let the wacky names fool you, they are absolutely packing in flavor. They also have delicious fried arroz con leche and delicious oven baked camote morado empanadas, and they sell out FAST!
