How is a place that sells menudo going to sell you the condiments that go with it?! We recently moved around the area and we are in search for the best menudo. We like to take our pots and have the place fill it in there. We decided to try Rubens today and we won't be returning. We took our pot and asked for $30 worth of menudo. Once we paid, we asked for the condiments, lime, onion, oregano, chili flakes... the works. The cashier said they do not provide that to people who bring their own pots and if we wanted condiments we needed to buy their cup size for $8. Like what?!? This is the FIRST business that doesn't want to provide condiments after spending $30. Imagine going to a taco place then having to go home to cut your own fixings because they didn't want to give you any because you bought a burrito instead of tacos. Also, bolillos are regular tasting bolillos. Nothing special about them. No need to drive hours. They are good but so is your local panadería place. Same, same . I came on a pretty busy morning... But it was well worth it. The breakfast burritos were delicious and well priced, the bolillo bread was amazing fresh warm, crunchy deliciousness, and the staff was super nice. I did not get any pan dulce on this day, but I will go back for some. read more

I tried this place for the first time because I am working close by for a few days. I came by to try the chili verde burrito. I have to say it was pretty good. Enough heat to satisfy the chili craving. Comes out of kitchen very hot wrapped in foil. Good price. They have a bakery also with pan dulce and bollilos, cakes. I Usually come in here for their sweet bread, (pan Dulce) and their rolls (bolillos) and Champurrado. One time I came in for some hot food, a chile relleno to be exact because it was during lent so no meat on Fridays and while out and about I got hungry. It was my turn to walk up to the counter and I asked one of the young ladies working there if I can have a Chile Relleno? Then she continues to ask me how I want it served, the choices were with rice and beans or a la carte. When she explained their a la carte option, I was speechless because she had the audacity to offer me a cold chile to take home to warm it up myself. At that point I should have left and gone to Gallo Giro instead, which is up the street but I was already there and I asked myself how bad can it be? I placed my order took them about 10 minutes to call out my order. I bring it home, 4 minute drive away from here, in a styrofoam box and it wasn't warm all the way. It was stuffed with Jack Cheese, which I hate so much and to top it off no sauce poured on top. Really good bread, I really wanted to like the green chile burrito but it was okay the staff are friendly though and the bread is worth it!

The services is friendly and efficient. I was in and out in 5 minutes when I went to get a Chile verde burrito. The Chile is spicy, just right for me but if you're not used to eating hot food it might be a bit much. The size of the burrito is big, I was only able to eat about 3/4 of it. I'm going to go back to try some of their other food. read more

We really like the bolillo at this place but honestly would love to have a new panaderia close to us because the service here is just horrible, it looks like once they they have their business running and customers coming in they do not see the need to be respectful anymore. The guys working here are extremely rude, they will tell you on your face "take it or leave" if you don't seem to be happy with service. I found this place on Yelp. It's a bakery with a kitchen. I'm gonna tell you guys what's good here. The Chile Verde burrito is the BEST here! It's a bit spicy and the beans are real good. The tacos are also huge. I've tried the asada, adobada and chicharon. Cant go wrong with the asada. That Chile Verde burrito is good for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
