People are so sweet and funny. Prices are a little high but worth the taste and quality. The cafe de olla is great too! I come here every weekend and they feel like family.

Amazing Pan Dulce in Compton! Freshly made and not overly sweet! Has a good variety of bread and everything is warm! 10/10 would come again!

Ok guys so it's been a good while since I've had Pan Dulce (Mexican sweet bread) most of the time the bread is overly light lacking flavor and quality.

They offer complimentary coffee with a purchase - if I heard right. I didn't take it because I had to stay awake. They have a large parking lot, right next to the 91 freeway.

The brown butter chocolate chip cookie was a standout--really delicious and worth going back for. On the other hand, the churro-flavored cookie and the chocolate chip walnut cookie didn't do it for me. They were a bit lacking in flavor, and I personally prefer my cookies to have that crispy-on-the-outside, chewy-on-the-inside texture. These were softer than I like, but that could just come down to preference. One thing I did really like is that they give full cookie samples, not just tiny bites--that's a nice touch and shows confidence in their product. Service was very good, friendly, and welcoming. Overall, I'd come back to try more of their cakes and definitely get the brown butter chocolate chip cookie again.

I think these breads and pastries are nice, but what brings the fifth star is when they use their breads for sandwiches. My wife ordered a blanco toast, which had ricotta, avocado, and a bunch more flavor bombs over freshly baked sourdough toast. I highly recommend their 'works" bagel sandwich. I had it on a sesame seed bagel with a very tasty scallion cream cheese. What made it amazing was their use of perfectly ripened, sweet heirloom tomato, thinly sliced red onions, briny capers, delicious olive oil, and fresh dill, that gave perfect balance and perfect seasoning. We sat at a communal bench/table to enjoy our breakfast items (which they stop serving after 10:30); however, we noticed that others were eating some delicious-looking sandwiches served on their fresh baguettes. I know that I have to come back for those!
