Our family has been going here for probably 30-40 years. Best Chile Verde hands down!

This is a regular stop when I'm visiting family in the valley. The food has flavor and reasonably priced. You get chips and salsa as soon as you're seated and their menu has a wide selection of food. My favorites are the enchiladas and the chalupa. The plates come with good sized portions of tasty food. They gotta do a little work on the interior. It's a bit dark and looks like the place needs a little elbow grease. Another note... go before you go. The bathrooms definitely need to be remodeled....ew. I'll definitely be back, it's one of my Mom's favorite places. read more

Horrible customer service: we phoned in an order and they were rude and even hung up. Food was expensive ( a burrito and orange juice for $10.82) they don't take cards for orders under $10. No actual potatoes they use hash browns...I LOVE POTATOES!!! But who knows maybe it's just because it's monday. read more

In response to one that has all his thinking all wrong: I guess u don't know the area very well, customers come from all over the valley to eat there with family n friends. Not because they are in close proximity they eat there they drive one hour or more to have the great food. We haven't had the pleasure of eating here in over a year, but this is hands-down the best chile verde we've ever had. My husband and I have been eating here every time we can visit from L.A. for the last 25 years or so, and the food is consistently fantastic every time we go. Chile Verde quesadillas are to die for, and the rest of the menu always delivers as well. Yes, it's in the middle of nowhere, but when it comes to Chile Verde, Cutler is the state capital. I don't know if they're cooking bad batches of crystal meth in Morro Bay, but do youself a favor and believe the positive hype you read here on Yelp, and drive out of the way if you have to to get here. This place is truly a treasure. If you love chile verde, you have to come here! This is honestly the best restaurant that we have ever been to that serves chile verde EVER!!! Stopped here for dinner on our way back from King's Canyon because it was late and we couldn't wait any longer to get back to Visalia. Cutler is a tiny town of 5,000 people and La Esperanza is clearly the locals' favorite restaurant if the non-stop stream of customers coming in on a Monday night is any indication. The food here is overall pretty solid, although it really depends on what you order. The refried beans, chili verde and carnitas were excellent, but the chips were stale and the asada was tasteless and dry. Overall I decided to bump up the score to 4 since the staff here are very friendly despite how busy they were. read more
