I had an early dinner here with friends on Saturday. The restaurant is very close to the Gran Place so it's in an area heavily overrun by tourists. We sat outside and the service was decent but not great. The waiter spoke some English, enough for us to get across what we wanted to order, without my friend switching to Flemish or French. The food was decent but NOT spicy. I had the vegetarian quesadillas (no I'm not a vegetarian but it was hot and I wanted something light). One of my friends had the four taco tasting board while the other friend had the chicken burrito. Apparently the taco tasting boards was mediocre with only the chicken taco being slightly spicy. The chicken burrito was good and again slightly spicy. I had like two whole jalapeños sliced up in each of my three quesadillas so they too were slightly spicy but nothing special taste wise. We also ordered the Ay Chihuahua which was really smooth and loaded with alcohol and my friend had a margarita which was decent. Over all it was a decent place to stop, rest our feet and get a quick bite but if you are a Mexican food devotee then I recommend trying somewhere else. Decent was about as good as it got.

Cute restaurant, great location, and good food. I had the chicken quesadilla and chicken tacos, both were good. It did take a while to get my food but the staff was very attentive. They brought out a snack size guacamole and chips and an extra soda while I waited.

Awesome spot, well worth checking out, especially if you're a tourist-it's something to talk…read moreanonymously when you get home! The bartender from another local bar told us to check this place out, and although it ended up being a little bit of a search mission, it was well worth the detour. When we arrived they asked if we had a reservation (Sat evening). We said no, and they said that was okay, they had seats downstairs. There's a prohibition like feel meets 1920s themed mental patient/witch doctor like vibe, making you want to instagram every little thing you see. We walked past the first floor, down some stairs to a little area with couch like seats and then down to the downstairs floor. Interesting bar with lots of unique contraptions in glass underneath the actual bar, as well as a giant stuffed lion with a bandage wrapped around his head. They had a fair impressive list of cocktails, but keep In mind, none of them were cheap. The waiter did also promise to make whatever drink we liked. I ended up going with the Pisco Sour and my gf had a random drink they made which she really liked. Definitely an awesome bar...reminds me of something great you would see in Brooklyn! It looked like there were a lot of local here!

After trying another well known cocktail bar in Brussels, we were recommended The Modern Alchemist…read more We'd known about this spot, but hadn't yet given it a try. Since the wife and I have really been into cocktails lately, trying to learn as much as we can, and trying new things, we decided to check them out on a Friday night. The bartender, Mica was so kind and friendly to my wife and me. We sat at the bar to watch him work, and to admittedly pick his brain when it came to ingredients. The wife tried a classic Mai Tai and I had their Cognac Safe Ticket. You can find descriptions of their house cocktails in the pictures. I absolutely loved the CST, and found it to be so delicious with it's hint of pear. We ordered a cheese plate and two more drinks, a Dill Breaker and An Apple A Day Keeps the COVID Away... Which despite the long name, was easily, without a doubt, the one of the best cocktails my wife and I have ever had! We enjoyed talking to them about their rums, especially their Trinidadian rums. They let us try some vermouths and other ingredients we and been curious about, and the bartender was so open to all our questions and provided some great conversation as well! The vibe of this place is great. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice date spot, or for great cocktails. We can't wait to go back!
