    Lunch Specials

What a hidden gem! My husband and I were planning on going to Davie Taco which is next door, but the line was huge. He noticed La Esquina next door and they had their lunch menu outside. I saw tacos so we said let's try it! This place is large and has a big bar as well. Lots of seating and a really cool vibe. We were greeted immediately and told we could sit wherever we liked. We picked a corner booth. Shortly after we were brought hot tortilla chips with salsa and beans. Very tasty. Our server was nice and helped us with recommendations. We went with the lunch tacos which she said are a bigger portion than the other specials, so we got those. You can mix and match chicken, steak, ground beef etc. I got all chicken and my husband got two chicken and two steak. Very flavorful tacos, they were delicious! A little greasy but I think that was just the sauce from the meat coming out. The tacos were super fresh, topped with fresh cilantro and onions. They brought us multiple salsas and avocado crema. This place really filled up as we were eating - clearly people know about it! Will definitely be back, thanks for the awesome experience!

I have to say, we popped up in here because it was the closest to off the wall. Our waitress was fast and constantly checking up on us. We got an appetizer of elote which was a little too sour for my liking but edible. I ordered the fajitas and they were sooo good! The tortillas were fresh! They had music going and after a while started calling people up to do karaoke. It was very fun and a good laugh. Nice environment.

Decided to give this place a whirl after finding it on Yelp! It did not disappoint! The decor is awesome which feels really inviting the moment you step inside! We got exactly what we wanted and needed - fast fresh food & cold beer that hit the Mexican craving right on the money! We will definitely be back! My tacos might look a bit "plain" but she did ask me if I wanted them American style or Mexican style so I assume Mexican style doesn't come with all the stuff we are used to seeing but I stole some topping off my husband's burrito and it worked out just perfectly!

I walked into La Esquina feeling nostalgic. Over a period of 22 years, I walked through those doors hundreds of times, from when it was CM Boomers, then Texas Rose, and then Big Dawgs. And now, everything was different, the crowd, the setup, the music, but the bar was still there. Yes, much has changed since those days, but the second I walked in there, I didn't mind the change one bit. It was Friday night, a DJ was playing popular spanish songs that even I recognized. Not just Mexican, but Argentinian, Puerto Rican, Colombian, Cuban, etc. You name it. He even played Lambada not to leave Brazil behind, and also YMCA, which was very surprising to hear. The best part was that the crowd was loving it. Some were eating, some were dancing between the tables, some were singing along or simply nodding their head. If you were not in a happy and partying mood when you walked in, within minutes that would change. Such festive and happy ambiance is simply contagious. The bartender was attentive even though I think she would have preferred to be dancing on the floor. I was probably one of the handful of non-hispanic people in there, and I simply had a blast. I didn't try the food but I have heard enough positive remarks from others to know that it is good, but at that time, that festive atmosphere was exactly what I needed, and it changed my Friday night from lousy to amazing. I will definitely go back again

Amazing place to meet up with friends! Excellent food options. The staff is fabulous. Karaoke nights and live music (check their schedule). We ordered the sampler appetizer platter and it was perfect for our party of ten.

Such a cute small restaurant. I love to find locations that are not commercialized Mexican and you can tell how authentic they are right when you walk in. The star of the show is their refried beans and the best part of they are given with chips and salsa when you sit down. It was Thursday ladies night so you know I didn't miss out on the margarita specials. So delicious! The employees were all very helpful, welcoming, and extremely nice!

Cane here on a Saturday night after a concert! One of my friends suggested this spot since it's her go-to hangout with her colleagues, and La Esquina did not disappoint. As soon as we walked in, the vibe was amazing! People singing karaoke, dancing, and everyone just having a great time. The drinks were solid and fairly priced, and the food definitely hit the spot.My friend and I shared a Mexican pizza and omg... it was so delicious! I also ordered a mango margarita (huge, definitely sharable with 2) and it was made to perfection. Drinks were strong, food was tasty! My other friends loved their drinks and what they ordered to eat. The staff was super friendly and attentive, which only added to the fun atmosphere. If you're looking for a lively place to grab drinks, sing your heart out, or just enjoy a night out with friends, this is the spot. I cannot wait to come back and try different items on the menu and have the guts to do karaoke.

I came here on a lunch break with some friends from work and tried their birria tacos. They were great, very cheesy and full of flavor as they should be. The consume they give you was a bit small but other than that, it was a good meal. The service was good, they were attentive and very kind. It's a nice little spot that can be great to have food with coworkers. I would recommend and will be coming back.

Came here to try it out because I wanted to go to a new Mexican place and it did not disappoint! Parking was ample and very easy to find the location from the road and parking lot. The windows and walls are decorated very nicely with sugar skull and other Mexican items. Walking in, the hostess took us to our table very quickly and gave us our menus to look at. We did sit for a bit before anyone even came over to give us water and take our drink order so it was a little bit of a wait that annoyed me, especially because the place only had a handful of other tables filled at the time we were there. The chips and beans they brought over to the table were amazing. The chips had a nice crunch to it and salted perfectly. The beans had a nice consistency and were also seasoned well! I did the create your own combo and got the taco and enchilada. The taco shell was perfect and the ground beef I had inside of it was juicy! The meat was very well cooked and the cheese and lettuce on top were very fresh. The ground beef enchilada I also got was great. The tortilla was the right size and a hefty portion of meet on the inside of it as well, also cooked perfectly! The rice was okay, a little undercooked for me so I didn't really eat much of it but the refried beans were great! Decent prices, my dish was about $15 after taxes and everything and I had a little bit of leftovers to take home. Overall pretty nice place and I loved that they had a mariachi band taking songs requests and going out to the tables while we were there as well!

Super fun vibe and dj was great food was ok but we need to make more of a dance floor but overall very fun spot to enjoy a night out. The service was ok. The best part is having an open mic to sing your life away. Great spot for karaoke.

First time eating at la Esquina Restaurant. My twin sister told me about this spot and this place is a great place to eat and dance away the calories. They have live music with a DJ and Karaoke. The price of the food is reasonable and the sangria was delicious. Overall a good spot especially in the weekends.

My friend recommended this restaurant so we went. Grace and Angie were both the servers that took care of me. Both of them were attentive and sweet. This restaurant was such a party place. They had a DJ and karaoke on Saturday nights. For food I had the shrimp tacos. The shrimp tacos were one for $5 or 4 for $16. I got the 4 for $16. If came with a green sauce and it was soo yummy. For the drink I got a sangria and it was delicious. I loved the ambiance, the food and my drink. The parking is free and is in front of the restaurant.

A fun and very lively restaurant! The perfect little place for great Mexican dishes and specialty drinks. Some coworkers and I stopped in after work to grab some drinks and food while celebrating a birthday. We arrived around 5:15, and the restaurant was fairly empty, whiten 40 min the place was packed! We were seated right away, and our server was amazing! She took our orders for drinks and food and explained a couple things to us that we were unsure about. She brought our table fresh tortillas chips with a refried bean dip, which were complimentary, a nice little touch instead of the typical chips and salsa. Everything came out rather quickly, there was a couple little hiccups with some items. Drinks were great, the margaritas definitely pack a punch! Food was delicious, I tried a chorizo, and birria taco and both were very flavorful. I also had the burrito al carbon meal, which I ended up bringing home, but did sample a bit of it at the restaurant and it was great. The restaurant inside is super artsy and colorful with a rich Mexican inspired atmosphere. During dinner there was a DJ setting up his equipment and palying some traditional beats. It's a place I would definitely return too, it's a great place to let off some steam and unwind after a long work week.

Yes kid friendly. It does have a bar but they also tables which I've seen many families seated. They have 2 tables outside which I think should be ok for anyone with a dog. May want to reach out to the establishment to confirm.

The ambiance was pleasant, and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. That said, it felt like the restaurant was a bit understaffed for the evening. It seemed like there was only one waitress handling the entire dining room, which did cause some delays in service at times. Overall, my party was fairly happy with the experience. My chicken fajitas were very well prepared and packed with great flavor. Unfortunately, my spouse's ribeye was a bit underwhelming--the marbling was excessive, which affected the overall quality. On a positive note, the margaritas were well made and enjoyable. I'm giving it a solid rating because I'd love to see a small business like this succeed, but in all honesty, it felt closer to a 3.5-star experience.

The decor remains a win. Bright, festive, and exactly what you want from a neighborhood Mexican spot. Our server was friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleasant -- no complaints there. The food, though... felt like an off day. It took quite a while to arrive, especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy. And when it did hit the table, it was lukewarm. Not cold, not terrible -- just not what you hope for when you're excited and hungry. We ate it without making a fuss (we're not "send it back three times" people), but it definitely didn't match the quality of our first visit. The flavors weren't popping the way I remembered. That said -- here's where I land. Every restaurant has an off day. Kitchens get slammed, timing gets off, things happen. My first experience was strong enough that I'm willing to chalk this up to one of those days. I believe in second chances. I believe in supporting local businesses. And I'll be back -- because when they're on, they're good. Consider this a hopeful 3.5-to-4 star mindset with optimism for round three.

The ambience was comfortable, casual, well lit and simple. Camilo took great care of us and answered all of our questions. We left completely stuffed and very happy. If I had to Nick pick, I would say that the lack of liquor license deter us from drinking like we wanted to and I wish I didn't have to ask if the margarita was wine based because we almost ordered it and I'm glad we didn't now that I know. We then noticed they used KLASS powder mix to make their "aguas frescas" so completely overpriced and not even homemade. Second I will touch on the tacos. We ordered birria tacos. They asked if I wanted corn or flour tortillas. This is when I knew I was doomed for bad tacos because tacos are NOT made with flour tortillas. ‍ once we got our tacos they were 3 very small tacos and they were not served with cilantro or onion.
