I was a bit nervous when the slice came out due to how big it is. I was expecting a flop-fest. Pleasantly surprised it was not. Very thin slice which is a plus for my personal scale. I'm not a fan of doughy traditional slices. Again really solid undercarriage for its size. I'm scoring it a 7.3 because there wasn't any particular taste or flavor that stood out. By all means there's NOTHING bad about the slice. From an ingredients standpoint it held its own. Just nothing stood out. The dough i would say stood out the most... I have driven past Pizza Salad Pointe a few times and we decided to check it out today. When you first walk in it looks a bit like a quick serve, however they are table service. The restaurant is super clean. The pies they have for slices are on display. They all looks delicious. They have all different types of pizza, including Detroit style. They also have a "pour your own" beer area with bar tables and couches. There is plenty of inside and outside seating. Service was VERY friendly and helpful. Now on to the food: We started with an order of sweet corn nuggets. It was just the perfect bite and portion. I had a slice of Sicilian margarita pizza and a cup of pasta fagoli soup. I do wish the soup was a little warmer but it was delicious. The Sicilian slice was HUGE and they cut it in 1/2 so it was very manageable and it was delicious. I took 1/2 of it home. I have ever taken a 1/2 of slice of pizza home knowing it will be perfect for another meal. My daughter had chicken parmigiana. It came with her choice of pasta and garlic rolls. The garlic rolls were perfect. They weren't greasy and they were real garlicky! Perfect! My husband had an individual pepperoni pizza that had 2 different types of pepperoni. We were greeted by the host and sat next to the lounge chairs. We started off with some appetizers, 6 garlic rolls for $7, those were pretty tasty and plenty of garlic flavor. We also ordered the cheese corn bites, and we thought it was going to come in a basket but there was probably only like 10 pieces for $8.. it also came with this tangy sauce. They have 3 different pizzas you can try as well- the New York, Detroit, and scicillan. We ordered 2 small pizzas enough for 4 people to share. We chose the New York pizza with all the meats (sausage, pepperoni, bacon bits..etc). We really wanted to try a white pizza and this one had just ricotta on top and I feel like it was missing a lot of flavor... maybe truffle honey or balsamic vinaigrette on top or something. Other than that, it was pretty bland. Each small pizza costs only $13-14, So that's a steal and just enough for 4 people to share. The concept of a self-pour "do it yourself" is unique and creative. They give you a card to scan on the tap and you basically pour how much you want to drink. I love the idea of sampling each one and not spending so much on drinks.. I'm not entirely sure what the parking situation is here on a busy night. We were able to find a spot in front of the restaurant. As you walk in, you see a wall where you can self-pour whatever beer you want. Also, hanging from the ceiling are a bunch of light fixtures that seem a little out of place but it makes you notice them. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the food offered. We had mozzarella sticks that were stuffed with pepperoni and sausage: good stuff. The garlic rolls were ok for me. I had a Detroit style pepperoni pizza that was really good: cheesy and crunchy crust. The small one is cut into 4 squares so you can eat 2 and leave 2 for another day. For dessert we had gelato. Wanted to try the Detroit style pizza this time, only had time for takeout. I ordered the vegan Detroit with mushrooms, onions and eggplant. It smelled amazing in the car, so couldn't wait to get home and dig in. It did not disappoint! First time trying this style of pizza and I am now a fan. This place proved me wrong. I really liked all the offerings that I chose the night that I went with a friend. The Detroit style pizza with what feels like cheese edges was very good and the portion size was large enough to share even with one slice of it. They offer table service which is another plus and everything in the restaurant was tidy and clean. Service was above average. They specialize in pizza but there are plenty of other choices available. I liked the caprese salad and the garlic bread was very good, not drowned in oil. I ate here about a month ago and liked the atmosphere. It is very open and the lighting is nice and bright and inviting. I met my friend and we ordered regular cheese slices. They were flavorful. The crust was a little thicker than I would have liked. I also ordered a self pouring beer. This is the fun part. I felt like a bartender. Haha They have some nice beers to choose from. The staff are all really upbeat and happy to be there. They have lots of TVs so you can watch all your favorite games. Parking is a bit limited but there is a parking garage behind the building. We were looking for desserts and saw they had gelato. When you walk in, it's quite spacious here. The decor is interesting as its a pizza spot with self pour beer but they have these very fancy chandeliers hanging from a red ceiling. Casual but the chandeliers are a "unique" option for this space. My kids gots gelato for desserts. Two out of three kids at least. My youngest tried maybe 3 flavors and he didn't like the texture. Thought the gelato was gritty. Personally, I thought the gelato wasn't firm enough. But my other kids seemed to enjoy it. I think they got mango and dulce de leche. They had other options too and what caught my eye was zeppoles! Because who doesn't love fried dough? Lol. Came in to try this place after passing it a while back and seeing the taps inside. We really enjoyed our lunch! I had the chicken and bacon slice which was great- crunch on the bottom and delicious toppings on top. It could've had a little more sauce but that's just my preference. I also tried 3 different cocktails on tap- the margarita, espresso martini, and amaretto sour. The marg was my favorite. I love the concept of trying different things but I felt like it was a bit hard to control the pour. The food is actually very good here, but there is a consistent and ongoing problem with customer service. Ice cold pizza being served, asking for and being told you can not buy extra red sauce for your pizza, no Manager on site many of the times including last night. The beer wall was dispensing flat undrinkable beer which happens regularly, but they still made us pay $11 for it. We are regular customers but we left to go eat at Davie Pizza and will not be going back again. Bad service makes the experience bad and there are plenty of great restaurants in the area to spend money in that treat people fairly. read more

This is a fairly new restaurant at the SE corner of Griffin and Davie Road Extension Roads. Parking can be an issue. I happened to get a spot around d the corner from them but I was lucky. There is a parking garage behind them from what I hear I had a couple slices of their Detroit style pizza. I am used to New York style but wanted to try something else. I don't have anything to really conpare this pizza to. It was OK. I will try the NY style one another time. I also had chocolate gelato. This was excellent. Very authentic. My experience at Pizza Salad Pointe for the first time was a hair better than average. We ordered the Baked Ravioli w/ Mozzarella and the Barbecue Chicken and Meat Lovers slice. We paid about $14 for the pasta and ~$5 per slice of pizza. The restaurant was a bit understaffed on a Saturday afternoon, and the service was regular. No complaints there. It did take us a little long to get our orders, but the food tasted refreshing. The pizza could have definitely come out hotter, but the flavor was there (parts of unmelted cheese). In the floor level of a condominium/apartment complex close to Nova, Pizza Salad Pointe has the prime location to gain a large crowd. Plenty of seating both inside and out, multiple tvs, and a self pour bar area makes this a fun and new experience. While I wouldn't say this is the best pizza in South Florida, it definitely has a great taste. We ordered the Margarita and a mix of sausage/pepperoni and thought it was very good.
