You enter and order at the counter, welcomed by two friendly faces. The menu has something for everyone. The ribeye taco was something special. I'm a big shrimp taco girl and these hit the nail on the head for me. The frozen margaritas are delish and horchata is a fan favorite amongst my kiddos. This is our second time at this restaurant, and once again, the food was truly amazing! The service is out of this world, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. We started with the chips and Lupita, which is kind of like a fondue with meat. It has a slightly sweet flavor, but it's not overpowering at all. My husband had the regular steak burrito with French fries instead of rice, which was recommended by Michelle. Michelle was absolutely amazing and gave us such great recommendations! I had the pork belly tacos, and they were delicious. The pork belly was nice and crispy, which made them even better. Overall, another amazing experience. For appetizers we got the triple guacamole and chips. For entree I got a birria burrito and my husband got a steak quesadilla. I had a horchata to drink. The guacamole was really good and had lots of yummy mixins. Our favorite was the corn, which had a rich smoky flavor. The horchata and steak quesadilla were really good as well. The burrito was good - but for a birria taco it seems that the consomme itself lacked flavor. Our waitress.. was interesting. She seemed to be a bit cold but she did end up being quite attentive. I've been a regular customer at Sr de Los Tacos in Pembroke Pines for a long time, but today's experience was really disappointing. I discovered an automatic 18% service charge added to carry‑out orders over $50 -- something I've never been told about before. I don't mind a service charge when dining in, but 18% for takeout feels excessive, especially since I normally tip on my carry‑out orders. The food quality has also gone downhill. The beef in the tacos I ordered today was very chewy, which is not what I've come to expect from this place. What bothered me most was the lack of transparency. No one mentioned the service charge before or after I paid. I only noticed it because the total seemed higher and I checked the receipt myself. So I came here for just a quick dinner and the Horchata was very good. I love the cinnamon flavor on it. The birria flautas were nicely fried, and I love the flavor of the sauce and everything together. The only thing I would say would be the beef was good, but it wasn't as tender as I like it, but overall everything was really good. The restaurant gives a nice comfortable vibe and it's good for groups and maybe a little date night. Service is to the table, but you do have to order your meal at the register. read more

Once again it's a good place to try but went for a second time to try it again and this time dropped to 3 stars as I never like the fact that places sneakily charge automatic 18% gratuity and not tell you and you leave tip as usual. I'm always a great tipper and it's my fault that I didn't double check if tip was already automatically calculated even for a party of 2 people. Fool me once, shame on me .... Fool me twice , shame on you .... Definitely won't be a third time you get to fool me. Sorry! Please be careful and ask to view the itemized check on their little handheld machine before applying tip, otherwise you'll be paying for tip twice. Waitress will confirm your order of course when you ask for the check and then place the handheld machine on the table for payment with a total for payment and options for tip. However they fail to inform you that tip is already included in the total. --------- Love to give local businesses their props and support when it's due! I'm thrilled to be the first to review Sr. De Los Tacos on Sheridan St.! This spot just opened a few weeks ago and is part of a small chain. My wife and I decided to give it a try, and we were thoroughly impressed. My wife ordered the shrimp quesadilla with everything on it, and she absolutely loved it. The only small critique was that not all the shredded cheese inside was fully melted, but the toppings of Mexican cheese and cotija really brought something special to the dish. It added an extra layer of flavor that made the quesadilla stand out. I went with "Juan's Favorite Taco," and it did not disappoint. The tacos were absolutely packed with flavor and spices. At first glance, I thought the prices were a bit high for just two tacos, but after seeing the portion size and tasting them, the value was undeniable. I was surprisingly full after finishing them! The marinated beef and beef rib stew were done to perfection, making it one of the best taco plates I've had in a long time. What made the experience even better was the atmosphere. It's a cute spot inside, and outside, it's dog-friendly (Outside seating)! They were more than happy to serve us at our table rather than making us order at the counter, which was a nice touch. Also, I have to mention the cilantro sauce they give you--it was fantastic and added just the right kick to the meal. Our first takeout experience was delicious because the tacos are unique, but then we went in another time to eat in person and the service made us wonder if they were unhappy working there. All the other food was bland The guacamole needed lime and other seasoning The tacos pastor were cold the meat cold The camarón tacos were cold as well. Our drinks were soda you can't go wrong with soda in a can! Our server is partner to the cook. We asked for our appetizer and hold off on the taco orders. Suddenly all was brought quickly one after the other allowing everything to get cold all though folks sadly it was cold already anyways. Our server never bothered to ask us how everything was the only one time she did and she blamed the cook her husband he did not listen and prepared all the appetizers and meals at once. This occurred after we complained to her about what did ask from the beginning. Then after she never approached us again until we asked for the bill in the meantime she our server sat across from us on a stool watching out the window until we called her over. On Friday's I work from home so I usually have lunch with my dad. He called me and told me that he was at this taco spot and asked if I would join him. When I realized that it was less than 10 mins from me I jumped in my car and met him there. There is plenty of parking right in front of the building. I walked in and I was surprised by how nice the place was. Loved the sign that said call 9 Juan Juan in case of emergencies. Also loved the plastic guy holding the taco and the cactus dedcorations everywhere, it gives it an authentic feel. This is one of those places where you walk up to the counter and order and they bring you the food. We each ordered tacos and shared. He got the pork belly and I got the birria. The portions were great the tacos were a good size. The tacos came out fresh and hot. Both were delicious, the birria had the sauce on the side which was amazing and the pork belly one was crunchy and sweet. They also have some sauced on the tray with the forks, be careful because the green ones kinda look the same but there is one that is extra spicy. Very authentic, I will be back soon! read more

You choose a taco and a server immediately brings you menus. There are a variety of sauces available (cilantro was our favorite!) You can find better tacos down the street. The only saving grace to this review is the guacamole. Ordered red salsa and chips and AVOID unless you want jarred salsa from like costco or sams. For a taco place that was disappointing the waitress said she only knew the guacamole was fresh so we switched it out. The taco meats lacked flavor and something was left to be desired in them. Can't say i would recommend this restaurant. I personally ordered the Mexican Fries with Birria and I couldn't even eat half. I had like max a quarter of the plate. The fries were quite greasy, it was far too sauce heavy, and had quite a lot of onion. Meanwhile, others in my table ordered tacos. They said the meat was good but had a lot of onions (not a problem since you could push some to the side). The service was pretty decent, the server cleared our table before we sat. Walked in on Tuesday, Dec 10 at night. The place looked real promising, and I was ready to order. When I started walking up to order, I noticed that the female employee (who was wearing one glove) was clearing a table beside the food station and dropped a glove on the floor. She picked it up, thought about throwing it away AND THEN PUT THE GLOVE BACK ON THE TABLE. She then plated some meat from the deep fryer with the same gloved hand, then answered the phone, took an order and punched it in with the same nasty glove... That glove was definitely more to keep her hand from getting dirty than it was to keep germs out of the food (you know the type). Despite how good everything looked, I turned and walked right out. See other review from the party who got food poisoning and went to the ER. I will not be giving this place a chance as long as she is employed there. read more
