Got some bread from here and it was good no complaints there. But the tamales.. I decided to try 2 green chicken tamales which were $3 each. The 1st one I ate was very dry, dry shredded chicken and no green sauce. Also tamale was literally only masa. And the 2nd one we found a HAIR IN THE TAMALE. Also it was dry and mainly masa. Bread is good and all. This is a review strictly on their poor costumer service. They close at 8pm and if you're not there by 8pm they literally close the door right on your face. Closing on time and rules I get it. But today I was here at 7:55pm knowing how they are and they were already close. They're inside but they will NOT Open for anyone. Hours say till 9pm and they have the doors closed at 8pm. They need to update their hours if they are going to be closing an hour early.

Let me start with the lady that works in the evening is very kind and friendly. If you go in on Saturday or Sunday when they open at 5am the lady and guy that work their are beyond rude. They both wear hats not friendly at all. I went on Thanksgiving and yesterday and today and the same rude service. The chanpurrado keeps going up in price like every couple of days jist a few weeks ago 2.50 then 2.70 and now 3.00 bucks today it was a cup full of masa and the bolio was not fresh and I asked her and with attitude she said yes they were from yesterday I told her they were hard and don't taste the same she didn't offer my money back but instead said I could come back in 15 minutes the owner needs to be aware of what is going on and educate her employees on being kind and professional read more

We have been customer's since they were in Highland. Today we stopped by to pick up some tamales and pan dulce. And could not leave because a lady parked in the middle of the driveway, my wife asked her to move over she refused said fuck you and that someone scratched her car before. Went to this location on the 28th and placed an order for a cake that was supposed to be picked up Sunday at 12. Come Sunday when we go to the location and asked for our cake there was no cake, they didn't know who put in the order or when. I spoke to a person on the phone that told me she never got the order and didn't know who put it in. It turns out that Marcela the owner of the bakery was the one that put in the order and just forgot about, and didn't seem to care, honestly she just said what do you want me to do??? I've been a customer of theirs since 2005, but all that ended today with the HORRIBLE service I received today. I got there 2 minutes after they closed for their first break, and all I did was ask if I could buy 4 bolillos, and the baker went off on me, telling me that they were closed. The workers were still inside, and it wasn't like they were leaving. He treated me, a 42 year old man, worse than a kid! I looked at him in disbelief and told him that I guess that's how you treat your customers. I understand I was 2 minutes late, but there is absolutely no excuse to treat a customer this way. So, I struggle to give companies good reviews when they pull illegal activity. So I went in and they said they took cards. Got a few things and they didn't have anything posted anywhere that they charge a fee. When I go to check out I get told there is a 50 cent fee that my bank is going to charge me. California has a law, California Civil Code section 1748.1, that prohibits retailers from adding a surcharge when a consumer chooses to use a credit card instead of paying by cash. But she didn't care nor let me put it back... so, I was mad. I am never going back and spending my money there. EVER!!! GO to superior grocer. They don't charge a fee and their food is better. read more

The service is good you serve your self the sweet bread and the bolillo they serve you 3 for $1.00 but this is the reason I won't give this bakery 5 stars even though as I mention before is by far one of the best bolillos I had because sense they serve you the bolillo they give you freshly made soft bolillo mixed with a day old bolillo . At least that's what I got today and I was a bit disappointed and they also charge .50 cents to swipe your debit.
