Used to be a good friendly place

Their customer service is not how it used to be I have been a customer for years and today was horrible. I went in for a drink unfortunately they were out so I walk out all of a sudden I hear someone yelling she opens the door and says what did I put in my pocket? Instead of was there something you were looking for. I can't believe this is how this business is now. I will not buy from them anymore it is pretty sad that this is how they run their business not friendly at all. I would not give any rating but unfortunately you have to put something!

Omg I was hesitating when I walked in and I saw all the breads and alot to chose from. Alot of empty bins Obviously that's a good sign because people come in early and get their bread. I took a picture of the bread that I ordered and also order tamales are 3.00 each I got pork, chicken and coke with cheese!!!! One medium champurrado my bill out the door 58.00 !!! So I went home to piss off the ones on a diet because they were going to eat it lol yup I eat because I enjoy food!!! So the chicken tamales had a lot of favor and great taste it a lot of masa it has great favor too!!!! So I did try apple and guava bread taste great bread alittle hard some soft parts!!! I'll post more of my thoughts after.

The place is great, often come here for menudo. Better than other places. The coffee and pan/bread taste great. Always fresh.

I have only had the pork tamales with red sauce, but I keep going back for them! I have heard the champurada is very good too.

I used to go there often. I stopped going to due to poor customer service and the pan being mediocre.

Business closes before their posted hours. Got there with time and doors were closed. Why put up your hours if you guys don't follow them?

Two hours before scheduled pick up time, I sent Liliana a message asking for her address so I could pick up the cake for my son's birthday. I didn't hear from her so I gave her a call. When Liliana answered the phone- she sounded confused about me picking up a cake; eventually she said it wasn't ready and to give her another hour( mind you this was after calling her at the agreed pick up time). I called Liliana after an hour and asked for the update on the cake; she became defensive and stated to give her another 30 minutes or I had the option to cancel the cake and get my deposit back. What? My son's birthday was the next day and that was the option she gave me. She clearly never made the cake and was not apologetic at all. Very rude, unprofessional and unreliable. Liliana sent me my deposit but already ruined my son's birthday. I was in distress as this was almost 6pm at night. I had to settle for a store bought cake late at night that didn't even match my son's birthday theme. She ruined the whole thing for me. No professional baker works like this- Do better Liliana or close up if you know you can't deliver. Do not patronize or you will be clearly disappointed.

The day we went (Friday), they also had clam chowder, so we had to get a cup of that, and it comes with a sourdough roll (which was really nicely flavored, and had a nice dense texture). We ended up getting a turkey sandwich, as well as a blueberry scone and a peanut butter cookie (I mean, we had to wait for the sandwich, and the display cases were dangerous). They were very generous with the sandwich filling, the scone was also delicious, as was the soup. The one flop here was the peanut butter cookie. Could have been moister and chewier, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. You order your sandwiches by filling out a simple order form at the back counter. Bathrooms have a code and were clean. There are two single-stalled ones. Parking in the lot in the back. It was pretty easy when we got there.

We ate inside, it was clean, calm, and the air conditioned. I was eating with my son and an employee came to see if we needed anything, customer service was great. I decided to take my chances and called them on the night of the 23rd, and to my surprise, they were open late (until 10pm), and I was able to place an order over the phone for one dozen tamales. Fast forward to the next day when I arrived to pick up my order. The bakery smelled delicious. Ambiance is very casual and very much a hole in the wall type of bakery. I saw they had a few pan dulce selections, but it seemed like everyone there was mainly there for the tamales, like me. The line was long, and it only got busier after I left. I picked up my tamales and immediately tried one when I got home, and OMG, WAS I SURPRISED! The tamales came individually wrapped and were SO moist, generously filled with meat, and the flavor was on point!! I got a dozen (half pork and half chicken), which turned out to be $30. I 1000% will be back for their tamales and might try their pan dulce next time.

To try this place, I ordered cheese tamales because they didn't have any pork. They gave 1 cheese and the rest chicken instead . I give 2 to be nice and because the cheese tamale had a decent flavor despite being over cooked and pretty dry. But the chicken, oh my goodness , terrible . Super dry and inedible.
