Used to be a good friendly place

Their customer service is not how it used to be I have been a customer for years and today was horrible. I went in for a drink unfortunately they were out so I walk out all of a sudden I hear someone yelling she opens the door and says what did I put in my pocket? Instead of was there something you were looking for. I can't believe this is how this business is now. I will not buy from them anymore it is pretty sad that this is how they run their business not friendly at all. I would not give any rating but unfortunately you have to put something!

Omg I was hesitating when I walked in and I saw all the breads and alot to chose from. Alot of empty bins Obviously that's a good sign because people come in early and get their bread. I took a picture of the bread that I ordered and also order tamales are 3.00 each I got pork, chicken and coke with cheese!!!! One medium champurrado my bill out the door 58.00 !!! So I went home to piss off the ones on a diet because they were going to eat it lol yup I eat because I enjoy food!!! So the chicken tamales had a lot of favor and great taste it a lot of masa it has great favor too!!!! So I did try apple and guava bread taste great bread alittle hard some soft parts!!! I'll post more of my thoughts after.

    Champurrado

The service is so dang horrible if you don't know Spanish they discard you. I posted the pic of the lady she is so rude!!! She has a scar on her chin just for reference if people come in contact with her that are non bilingual she refused to help me and walked away because I didn't speak Spanish! Then took the whole line which was long as hell and finally called another older lady who also didn't speak English but she tried so hard to help and did she was very sweet. The worst part was the tamale had MOLD on the husk I would never go there again pics posted tamales 3.50 each

Bolillo with chesse it's alright not fresh at all

Two hours before scheduled pick up time, I sent Liliana a message asking for her address so I could pick up the cake for my son's birthday. I didn't hear from her so I gave her a call. When Liliana answered the phone- she sounded confused about me picking up a cake; eventually she said it wasn't ready and to give her another hour( mind you this was after calling her at the agreed pick up time). I called Liliana after an hour and asked for the update on the cake; she became defensive and stated to give her another 30 minutes or I had the option to cancel the cake and get my deposit back. What? My son's birthday was the next day and that was the option she gave me. She clearly never made the cake and was not apologetic at all. Very rude, unprofessional and unreliable. Liliana sent me my deposit but already ruined my son's birthday. I was in distress as this was almost 6pm at night. I had to settle for a store bought cake late at night that didn't even match my son's birthday theme. She ruined the whole thing for me. No professional baker works like this- Do better Liliana or close up if you know you can't deliver. Do not patronize or you will be clearly disappointed.

You can also buy other items but these are the only products I have tried. First I'll start off with the tamales-- the photos are from my purchase because I completely forgot to take pictures while I was there. I ordered 6 of each kind, they have 4 kind to choose from jalapeño with cheese, red pork, green chicken, and corn (sweeter side). They were all so good, freshly made and packed with deliciousness inside each tamale. My favorite one is the jalapeño with cheese they were spicy but not an overwhelming heat. Honestly it had just enough heat to enjoy and taste it. They all were great and not dry at all. The service was amazing, they always have long lines and at times it can be wrapped around the building. The staff has a great system in place allowing the wait time to be about 6-8 minutes long from start to finish (10 minutes on a busy day). If you are wise don't go alone and have someone tag along. One person to get in line while the other parks-- then one person to get Mexican bread while the other waits in line for the tamales. The inside has a small feel to it only because of the amount of customers they have at any given time. I walked in with what seemed like a short line, only for it to feel smaller in a matter of minutes with many more customers arriving. Overall I would recommend to try them out and see how great they are. Lastly, all of the staff were very friendly and helpful !

The day we went (Friday), they also had clam chowder, so we had to get a cup of that, and it comes with a sourdough roll (which was really nicely flavored, and had a nice dense texture). We ended up getting a turkey sandwich, as well as a blueberry scone and a peanut butter cookie (I mean, we had to wait for the sandwich, and the display cases were dangerous). They were very generous with the sandwich filling, the scone was also delicious, as was the soup. The one flop here was the peanut butter cookie. Could have been moister and chewier, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. You order your sandwiches by filling out a simple order form at the back counter. Bathrooms have a code and were clean. There are two single-stalled ones. Parking in the lot in the back. It was pretty easy when we got there.
