    Pork & cheese and jalapeños

Customer service was a plus for me. Was reading the reviews & was scared but was greeted by a nice lady. The sweet bread was average. The tamales was delicious and a good size. The masa was very moist & not dry. The inside of the tamales was decent. I'd have to say this place and Lesley's is almost tie. Lesley's tamales masa is not always moist but then again you get more filling inside the tamales but their customer service is rough when a certain worker is there (big girl with piercings). I will probably be going to both but this one is closer to me & id rather not deal with big lines & no parking

I saw they had a few pan dulce selections, but it seemed like everyone there was mainly there for the tamales, like me.

What a serendipitous find on our way to Joshua Tree! We were looking for a lunch place, and felt…read morelike sandwiches. Never heard of this place before, but we wanted to try their sourdough. The day we went (Friday), they also had clam chowder, so we had to get a cup of that, and it comes with a sourdough roll (which was really nicely flavored, and had a nice dense texture). We ended up getting a turkey sandwich, as well as a blueberry scone and a peanut butter cookie (I mean, we had to wait for the sandwich, and the display cases were dangerous). They were very generous with the sandwich filling, the scone was also delicious, as was the soup. The one flop here was the peanut butter cookie. Could have been moister and chewier, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. You order your sandwiches by filling out a simple order form at the back counter. Bathrooms have a code and were clean. There are two single-stalled ones. Parking in the lot in the back. It was pretty easy when we got there.

We ate inside, it was clean, calm, and the air conditioned. I was eating with my son and an employee came to see if we needed anything, customer service was great. Another employee came by and brought me 2 free cookies for me and my son, wow. They go above and beyond here. 10/10

My ex-wife and I visited here often when we were "broke" college students and always found a way to create an amazing meal from what little money we had between us. A couple tamales, beans, rice, chips and fresh salsa plus pan dulce for dessert and we ate like royalty with food we could share with her roommates. This location holds so many memories and to know it's still running after being here for what seems like forever is heartening - still looks the same. I truly long for a place like this in Texas. I've visited a few places that are close but not as good as So Cal.

I also picked up some pork pozole, mild & hot salsa and rice, all of which I've had in the past and have always been delicious. I like to put the salsa on my over medium eggs, refried beans and home fries with some tortillas and cafe de olla that I make for breakfast or sometimes even dinner. Desayuno estilo casera ... rico! Comfort food for sure! Jimena was working at the counter tonight. Jimena, muchísimas gracias por todo su ayuda! I'll probably be back as Christmas approaches for more tamales. FYI, they no longer take orders ahead of time for the tamales, it's first come first served! ¡Buen provecho!!
