    Greetings
    Eric A.

My wife wanted a peppermint milkshake from Chick Fil A , its was 10:30am just missed the breakfast order cutoff I didn't want chicken , right across the street is La Estrella !!! Breakfast burrito , I'm sure they make one .. walked inside greeted by a wall of carrots and oranges , and an o'la from a very pleasant woman behind counter, and that's where it just got better , she listed off the different meats available for the burrito , I looked to kitchen area and saw the huge mass of meat spinning in front of the rotisserie... can I have that on my Burrito , she replied YES .. as I waited for my food I was impressed first by how clean it all was, the size of the restaurant and all the modern menu boards and order processing tech. They have a self serve condiments cart with salsas, pickled onion, jalapeno, cucumber slices, radish and much more , again super clean. Got a couple servings of salsa verde, and went back to waiting for my burrito, on the menu boards were juice drinks .. I was interested but by the time I had translated the ingredients lists , my food arrived. My food was to go , got home to a warm satisfying breakfast, the El pastor Burrito with , eggs , potato's, beans and cheese was very good , generous portion and the green sauce was flavorful, but for me lacked a bit of heat. Overall I had an excellent breakfast and experience with La Estrella... I'll be back for another meal and one of those Vampiro drinks now that I know what they are ...

This was busy, nice and clean. The booth was cleaned and there was no line, but every booth was full. I wish I knew how big the portion was, but no complaints I had left overs for dinner. Service was fast, they checked on us a few times & made sure we got everything we needed. They had a self serve salsa station & soda machine. The food was so filling, and was better then I expected in this small town. I would definitely go back, and share one plate with a friend next time.

Picture of my boyfriend devouring his big ass burrito.

Pretty good food, the soft drink dispenser broke and fell in my cup though. Lady gave me a new cup. They had a smoke detector with bad batteries, kept beeping and being loud and annoying but other than that pretty food food.

Stopped here right before my daughters softball game to grab a small bite. I ordered the Birria Taco and my friend ordered a shrimp taco. Both were delicious. We also really enjoyed the salsa bar! The lady that took our order was helpful with the menu and the restaurant was super clean. If I'm in the area- I would definitely go back!

I'll comment on the taste in a bit but I want to first highlight something I've never experienced. In all my work-from-home years I've never once had to-go experience where the dishes looked like they'd been plated for table service at the restaurant. Sure some stuff shifted in the Dasher's car but it honestly blew me away. Even the drink was carefully wrapped and put in a little box to ensure it wouldn't leak everywhere. As for the important bit, the taste, man... I have had so many amazing Thai meals at places in the bay area and honestly just assumed the most Modesto would get is some great Banh Mi spots. Obviously I haven't had the chance to try the whole menu but my go-to, Tom Kha, this is the best Thai coconut soup I've ever had! The Pad Thai is as good if not better than what I've had in San Francisco as well. I'm really looking forward to bringing friends and family here to check it out in person! Side note... yes, it's also very expensive ordering via Doordash with their added fees but it's 2026 and it's California. So far my multiple orders have been well worth the price and I expect the same experience in person! (just, you know, without the extra Doordash fee nonsense)

My wife and I stopped in after our jog along the Tidewater Biketrail, making this our lunch pit stop after starting at Lathrop Road. The Char Siu Pork Bánh Mì is an easy 5/5. The baguette was fresh, crispy on the outside, and soft and chewy inside. The char siu pork was tender, juicy, and perfectly caramelized around the edges. Crisp pickled carrots and daikon, plenty of cilantro, and fresh jalapeños brought everything together. It's a well-balanced sandwich with a portion that's just right. The Grilled Chicken Roll'd deserves more attention. The grilled chicken reminded me of a flavorful chicken satay, and the peanut sauce complemented every bite without overpowering the fresh ingredients. If you're looking for a lighter, protein-packed option, this is it. They also offered complimentary strawberry and passion fruit refreshers. They were a little sweeter than my preference, but the flavors were refreshing. Next time, I'd order one at 50% sweetness. The restaurant is clean, inviting, and a welcome escape from the Central Valley heat. Service has always been friendly, and it's the kind of place where both the staff and regulars make you feel welcome. There's also a Tracy location, but I find myself coming back to the Manteca restaurant. It's smaller, more intimate, and has a charm all its own. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. Great food, great people, and a relaxed atmosphere. I always say, good food brings out the best in people. The restaurant is connected to (or at least shares a building with) the casino, so parking can be a little tricky. Most of the lot was full when we arrived, and I ended up parking on the street. Inside, it's really cute. They have a great wine display right when you walk in, a cozy dining area, and a small outdoor patio that looked like a nice spot to sit. Service was good. Nothing over the top, but friendly and exactly what you'd expect. The menu sounded fantastic, which made me really excited. We ordered oysters, lobster bisque, filet mignon, scallop pasta, lobster mac and cheese, and I had an Old Fashioned. The oysters and bisque were both okay, the filet and pasta were decent, but honestly nothing really stood out. The biggest disappointment was the lobster mac and cheese. If you love lobster mac like I do and always order it when it's on the menu, I'd skip this one. It wasn't really mac and cheese at all. The sauce didn't taste cheesy, the presentation wasn't appealing, and it ended up being one of my least favorite versions I've had. Overall, it's a nice restaurant with a good atmosphere, but the food just didn't wow me. If someone invited me back for another celebration, I'd happily go. It just wouldn't be my first choice if I were picking the restaurant myself.

The food has always tasted good no matter which location I've visited. The restaurant itself was clean overall. I'd give the cleanliness a 7/10 because while the dining area was well maintained and air conditioned, the sauce bar was a bit messy. Not a huge issue, but enough to notice. I also like the self-order kiosks. They're a great option if you have social anxiety or simply prefer not to order at the counter, while still giving you the choice to order from a cashier if you want that person-to-person interaction. The cashier wasn't rude, but she also wasn't very friendly. She seemed like she just didn't want to be there, which I understand it's a job, and everyone has off days. Still, friendly service makes a difference, and it's one reason I couldn't rate this place higher. I've been to smaller local restaurants where the staff are incredibly welcoming, and that really enhances the overall experience. As for the food, it was good and consistent. The portions felt fair for the price, and I honestly think one plate is enough for two people to share, depending on your appetite. Everything looked well prepared, nothing was overcooked or dry, and it tasted fresh. Wait time wasn't too bad either under 10mins. They also had lunch specials available, but since I didn't order one this visit, I can't really comment on the value of those. Overall, I think 3 stars is fair. It's a solid place that I would come back to because the food is consistently good and reasonably priced. I just don't have much to rave about beyond that.
