This is exactly what you expect from a breakfast diner joint! A long counter behind the grill where all the action is at. The staff seems like a family affair. Everybody is smiling and laughing and talking to the customers. The grill cooks are calling out orders with surgical precision. The clanging of the spatulas and plates sounds like music! I ordered the country fried steak with hashbrowns crispy, and pancakes on the side. You always gotta try the flapjacks at these kind of spots. Of course the pancakes were excellent. You would expect no less... hashbrowns were crispy as ordered and the CFS was on point. Crunchy outer and tender inner. The gravy could've had a little more bang (seasoning) but the overall experience was great. If you're looking for some good breakfast after sliding at the Great Wolf, this is definitely a good spot. This is one of my favorite places to go and get breakfast. It's an old-school diner with true customer service. Service would have been quick but we came in during the afterschool lunch special! The special for students was $7-$8 for a burger, fries and a drink. Love this place. Very small diner. Mainly counter seating where you can watch your food being cooked. Staff are always great, portions are huge and price is reasonable. When it's busy it can take some time to get seated...it's very small...but worth the weight. Some parking on the street but there is also a small lot in back with a back door you can enter through. There are only a few tables and they are small. This is not a place to bring a group! We shared steak and eggs and it was plenty of food for both of us. The service was great. Even though it was a busy Sunday morning we only had to wait less than 10 minutes for a spot at the counter. This is one of my favorite dive restaurants. You sit picnic style and by the end of your meal you will have made new friends. The food is good and the portions are far more than generous. I love this place and I will be back soon. read more

This place has kind of an old school diner vibe from an 80's movie. There is plenty of seating inside the main dining area which consists of a long bar top that stretches through most of the diner. While seated you have a front row to watching your meal be prepared. The back area has a handful of regular tables and chairs. The staff have always been friendly. The quality of the food is nothing special in my humble opinion. I would say it is on par with most other diners. The portions are on the larger side which keeps the pricing pretty fair. I visited during lunch time on a summer day. Not sure if this is normal, but there was no air conditioning during my visit. This made for a pretty warm and somewhat uncomfortable visit. They have great food and good service. The people that work there are nice and friendly and the cook is a great cook and also will talk to you. The restaurant seems small and isn't great for large crowds. I don't mind eating there if it's just a few people but I usually get a breakfast burrito to go. Their breakfast burritoes are huge and we went there for my hubbies birthday one year and they gave us a free burrito for his birthday. The owner is sweet and caring and truly shows he cares about his customers and his employees. One of my favorite breakfast places in Manteca and always will be. The decorations inside are neat and have plenty of moose's all throughout the restaurant with a main bar to sit at and a few tables. read more

Waited for a table, not long. They have a bench outside. Place was poppin, a little small but definitely worth it. Host was nice, waitress seemed a little stressed- can't blame her. This place is AMAZING!! Yes the rumor is true that seating is limited and there always seems to be a line out the door but that fact alone lets you know that it is worth the wait. I've visited this place on many occasions and the food is tremendous, portions are generous and they have several breakfast staples that don't taste like they come from a chain restaurant deep freezer. Might I suggest the breakfast burrito?!! I feel like I deserve to have my picture on the wall after eating the whole thing. Found this neighborhood breakfast tiny cafe in Manteca. We were hangry for a hearty breakfast but of course my eyes were bigger than my stomach as usual. Totally enjoyed our food. My waffle was huge & delicious & my scrambled eggs & sausage were satisfying. My wife had the chorizo scrambled over country potatoes. She loves her chorizo! Had place bookmarked and was driving by, no line so in we went! Place is literally a bar with about a dozen stools and 3 tables. Place was fully staffed in anticipation for the rush and were friendly and attentive. This was our first time, didn't know what to order so we got the Meaty Moose with biscuits & gravy,, the Moose skillet with pancakes and a sausage burrito. Ordered the Meaty Moose to take to the in-laws. Portions are HUGE we could've easily have shared a meal, the Meaty Moose Skillet had tons of meat and looked like a mountain of eggs. I barely made a dent in the skillet and the Hubbs barely put away half his burrito. Waitress asked if we wanted some green sauce, get the green sauce loved it on the skillet and burrito. Everything was cooked to order on the flat top in front of you. Note: if you like your hash browns crispy you must ask for this as ours were served more on the blanched barely cooked side. The skillets were great which made the sides in comparison just ok... Pancake batter tasted like it came from a mix, since there was so much food in the skillet, I just tried them and moved back to the skillet. The butter also looked more like margarine, since I haven't eaten margarine in years, i wasn't willing to it give a try. The gravy is plain & milky and wasn't your meaty, greasy, hearty and savory variety. Both sides we ended up taking to go along with a skillet and half a burrito. Family gave 2 thumbs up. Then while we were waiting the 15+ kids that got their order before ours the cook (male) was making comments about the teenage girls in Spanish which were inappropriate since he is a grown man even the waitresses looked uncomfortable, he is a pervert and shouldn't be working around teenage girls. This was my first time here and I must say I am very impressed. From the staff greeting my honey and I then minute we walked in, the food being prepared by the cook, the laughs, to the presentation and goodness of our meals! Everyone was so nice and attentive to our needs and the food was the best breakfast I have had in the valley! I will be coming back next time I am in town.
