You pay for a certain amount of bread and *bolillos* (rolls), but they give you less; they aren't honest, and they give you stale bread that isn't fresh. The owner is discriminatory; when you complain, she calls *you* the liar and won't let you speak--she just wants to shout! They shortchange you on the bread. I had a terrible experience at this bakery and with the owner when I complained about receiving stale bread and being shorted on the *bolillos*--they gave me less than I paid for! "La Favorita Bakery" is the *least* favorite. read more

My wife has come here for years for their "Conchitas". Mini Conchas. She's always sweared by them. I've always thought they were just ok. Today, she asked me to stop by after my haircut for some Conchitas. I went ahead and came in and decided to try other stuff. First off, the lady at the register is so rude. She seems bothered to have to answer any questions about the bread options, prices and everything. I was so close to just walking out and not making a purchase. But I endured her funky attitude just to get my wife her Conchitas. I got a square slice of what they call "cheesecake". It has a funky crust that takes away from the what little cheesecake flavor it had. I got 2 "panaderos" which are my favorite Mexican sweet bread. It's like a 'cuernito in the shape of a concha with concha topping". I have to say it was one of the worst tasting panaderos I've ever had. Unlike Ponce's bakery in Downey. Or El Gallo in East LA (the best). This one was half raw. Thought it was gooey just cause it was fresh. But once I got the runs. I knew it was the uncooked dough that got me. Mini empanadas are $1 each. Not worth it all. Regular sized Empanadas are about the same price anywhere else. Again the Conchitas were the only OK items. Overall for the quality, price, and horrible attitude and customer service of the employees. NOT JUSTIFIED!!! I won't be back. read more

The lady at the register is so rude ! The bread is okay and at a decent price but she seriously makes people feel so uncomfortable and unwelcome . This bakery needs to hire someone else to deal with their customers if they want their business to thrive ! They also charge 4% for using any type of credit or debit card ! Ridiculous read more

Mini conchitas are good. But every time , I come in here, there is a different rude lady working. It's almost like they hate any and all customers. They huff and puff over any question, or any form of payment. They are very rude over the phone as well. I've had enough, and will be buying conchitas some place else. read more

Very good pan dulce. It's a small and simple panadería bakery but they have sheets of conchas and mini conchas fresh out of the oven. I went at 10am but I've heard they crank them out all day. Def recommend. read more

I seriously considered not posting this review. I love their pan dulce, but their service needs some serious improvement. I've always just stopped by and gotten the pan on my way home. This time, I decided to preorder for a work function and requested pick-up at 6 am. When I was called close to pick-up, they informed me that the bread maker had woken up late and that my order would be delayed. I'm not a bread maker, but I know that if you notice an employee not showing up on time, you should question them or let your customer know as soon as you become aware. It's not fair to delay an order just because someone forgot to show up. This delay caused me to be late for work. This wasn't the first time this happened to me with orders from them, but it was the straw that broke the camel's back. (Disclaimer: I'm a bit upset, but grammar and punctuation aren't my top priorities.) read more

My family and I have been coming here on and off for years. Recently I introduced this bakery to one of my cousins and she makes about a 25min drive just to get here. We love their small buttery Conchitas. However the last few times I've been getting hairs in the bread I don't think they are using hair nets and it's nasty. First time in this bakery, will not be back. LOW QUALITY pan dulce. These people have no idea how to make Mexican pan dulce, instead it's pathetic pan dulce that appears that a child baked it. What were supposed to be conchas, were malformed balls of dough with a single or two maximum stripes of sugar on top, about an inch in a half. A decent, respectable cuerno, not to be found. The bisquets were small dried up, overbaked and hard as a rock malformed dough. I visited the panadería on a Sunday morning when the fresh bread had come out. The lady in the front counter with glasses and black short hair is so rude. She has attitude the minute anyone walks in. She gave me smashed conchas! I told her they looked horrible and to please exchange them. She then said it was my fault because I asked her to put them in a box and because the concha's were hot and that happens. This bakery is literally squeezed in a corner strip shopping center, but plenty of delicious Mexican bread is being baked here. The conchas and other sweet bread are toasty on the outside, but soft inside. The coffee served here has a distinct delicious taste to it. If you need creamer, they keep a half gallon of milk in their cooler for your coffee. Don't expect ritzy, art deco inside this establishment, the focus is on the excellent product being produced here! Also, don't forget to ask the employees which is the bread of the day! read more

Been coming to this bakery for years. Concha's are on point. Customer service ok. I personally never had an issue with them.

First of all, it's the best bakery in LA! I have family requesting these from out of state! The customer service is great. You are treated like family. The sweet smelling aroma of bread just out the oven is phenomenal. Last, their bread is always fresh! I totally recommend this joint. The concha's, are soo good here. But the customer service is the F worst!! The short chunky lady (sorry no other way to describe her). Customer service is horrible. I placed an order for 100 conchitas. I go to pick up my order and it's not ready. I came back 20 minutes later as I was instructed, and they forgot my order. A few years ago, I placed an order for 200 conchitas. They give me old conchitas !!! read more

Been coming to La Favorita for over 15 years! Their conchitas are my family's go-to. However, the service lately has been so unpleasant that I DREAD going inside. i get the rudest greeting from an older woman with dark short hair and glasses. & I feel like they've been getting plenty of complaints about her behavior because they even have a notice saying to be nice to the employees. read more

Been here just a Couple of Times. Their Sweet bread ain't all that but it's not that Good also. I just come here to get their bolillos con jalapeños y queso. Stuff jalapenos and cream cheese bread. Now those are pretty good oh and their Customer Service is Good. You should give them a try. read more

Their pan dulce is *chef's kiss* Conchitas are the tastiest I've ever had, 1000 times better than other bakeries. Their brown, flakey sticks are delicious as well. No idea why maps say it's permantly closed, its still open. read more

Great sweet bread, bollillos are really good and prices are fear. I like that this baker uses paper bags. However, Cashiers need to be better trained and keep in mind to be more polite with cutomers. I just can't believe this bakery would even think this is okay! I gave them a picture of what i wanted with instructions: two tier cake, light pink color, a bow, gave them a gold ribbon, gold pearls and a letter top. In return, I received a two tiered cake WITHOUT ANY TOPPINGS including the decorations I provided because it would "collapse." There was also NO bowvisible cardboard to hold the tier up, hot pink color, stained ribbon, was lobsided, gold pearls look a mess and is over extremely unprofessional. read more

After they made me come back an hour later for a pre order when I went back they said "esque se la dieron a otra persona" obviously I asked "but these are new?" The lady looked like I asked for free bread! The conchitas from this place WERE the best. We used the get them for work all the time. Even when the place looks run down i still raved to my kids about them and now I'm so disappointed and with I would have just got them closer to home.... They don't have all the traditional breads, i asked for a tricolor cookie (Neapolitan colors) according to the lady "no sabe lo que va a sacar el panadero" ... WTH? Es panadería o que? I noticed there is a Panadero wanted sign so that may be the culprit. So disappointed read more

Where should I begin? This is in no way anything similar to the East Los 4th st location. The only thing I even dared to try were the mini conchitas which ARE similar to 4th St. but there's definitely still something missing. It was kinda weird that they have them hiding in the back somewhere so you can't see them. I was honestly not very comfortable buying bread here by the way the place looked. Will make the drive to ELA next time or I'll have to pass on my Concha fix!! read more

This place is definetely known for their "conchitas". They have some early in the morning, mid day and during night time. Their small breads ALWAYS sell out. The bread here is really good. Right out of the oven and my favorite, very soft and tender bread. They have chocolate and vanilla conchitas. I rate it 4 out of 5 because they should expand the tiny little place they have and start making more of those breads since they always run out a lot of the times that i've gone. This is great bread, I would recommend trying the conchitas. read more
