Our go-to cake for my son has always been the Ganache Chocolate cake. However, this time, I decided to try the Oreo Cake. The same chocolate cake with Oreo cream filling, which is both moist and super yummy. Plus, it's not overly sweet. I also bought the Tre Leche cake to try out. OMG! It's incredibly moist and my family approved. It's been a while since I've had a Tre Leche cake, and I must say, it's a real treat. The staff here is friendly and efficient even though today is Father's Day.

I've gotten the a lot of the ready made cakes + treats over the years and everything is always fantastic, so when I needed a custom cake they were my first choice to call! They did an absolutely incredible job - it's nearly identical to the inspiration picture I provided and the cake was delicious as always! Highly recommend

I've been to Candlelight Bakery a few times over the years and have always enjoyed their tres leches cake; it's usually pretty good. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was a completely different experience and honestly left a bad taste in my mouth. I stopped by one morning because I was craving a ham and cheese croissant. Yelp showed this bakery in my search results, so I decided to swing by. When I got there, they didn't have any croissants -- just cakes, cookies, and a few sweet pastries. That was fine, but what really turned me off was the service. There were a few people waiting for cake pre-orders. One of the cash registers didn't have a line, so I stood there for a bit, but no one acknowledged me. I eventually moved to the other line and waited my turn. When I got to the front, the cashier asked if I had a pre-order. I said no, I just wanted to grab a few cookies. Instead of helping me, she told me to hold on and went straight to the person behind me to ask if they had a pre-order -- and then asked, in a rude tone, "Who was here first?" as if I had cut the line. Thankfully, the person behind me spoke up and said I was there first. I bought a few custard cream puffs and sugar elephant cookies, but sadly, they weren't worth it. The cream puffs tasted stale and the cookies tasted store-bought. After this experience, I don't think I'll be coming back.

Not much of a selection... stopped in to grab some cookies. The bakery has a great reputation for their cakes and we were in the area so we stopped in! There weren't a lot of cookies to choose from.. we grabbed several and they were all mediocre.. really wanted to love this place :( review is based simply on cookies. The staff was friendly tho!

My wife ordered this cake for my daughter's birthday. It was a solid option. Cake was moist and fresh and the frosting wasn't overbearing or overly sweet. I want to try their tres leches next, see if they can get to 5 stars.

    Choco Flan

Sent my sister inside to get some cake for my mom's bday two days ago. Can't speak on the service because I didn't go inside but it was quick and she came out with this Choco flan which I believe was only like $20-$30. It was pretty good, but I'm Filipino and the flan obviously tasted different because it's Mexican flan and not as sweet with a slight texture change. It was aesthetically pleasing to look at too.

    Tres Leches

The service was great! I called on the same day I needed a cake, and they had quite a variety ready for pickup up. I purchased the tres leches cake, and next time, I'll have them add a light layer of whipped cream since this cake comes with a thick top layer.

I ordered a half a sheet, chocolate cake with strawberries inside.

We ordered a cake from my favorite spot, been coming here for over seven years and they never disappoint. Whatever design I give them for the theme always looks better than they idea, not to mention the cake always tastes great, everyone always wants to know where I order my cakes from. Even though I moved to Moreno Valley this is still my spot. Thank you again Candlelight bakery for always having the best tasting and the best looking cakes

Where do I start off by saying that this bakery has been my go to ever since I met my mother-in-law she put me on it is local to us and the staff is always very friendly and there is multiple options and if you need something to grab and go they always have a couple cakes that are ready and they just add a birthday topper for you if you need it or whatever the occasion may be for you. I've tried multiple of their cake flavors and I love them all. They're never dry and their frosting isn't too sweet which lets you enjoy the cake. Within the flavors, I've tried has been red velvet chocolate three milks, Choco flan, simple vanilla. And they have plenty of other treats that you can also buy like some yummy cannoli or macaroons. They also do custom cakes and personally I have never ordered a custom one, but my mother-in-law has and they always have them at the time she arranged to pick them up and they always do a great job. Pricing is reasonable in my opinion compared to other bakeries.

    Napoleon Cake
    Nikki B.

My darling co-workers brought me a cake and some thumbprint cookies from here. The cookies were tender, buttery, & very tasty. The Napoleon Cake was pretty & delicious. The base was a moist vanilla cake and the top was a slightly crispy mille-feuille topped with whipped cream, fresh strawberries, sliced peaches, & pineapple. It was light and not too sweet. My co-workers and I enjoyed these yummy treats. If I'm in the area, I'd like to try their other goodies.

They were friendly, bakery was basic, no frills. This review is strictly for the cookies. We were looking for a local bakery to try some fresh cookies. These cookies left much to be desired. We have this bakery a try because we had heard good reviews about their cakes. The only good cookie was the apricot thumbprint cookie. The rest of the cookies were completely tasteless.

Ordered my baby shower cake and gender reveal cake here! Sooo good! I'll be ordering another cake for the holidays!

My fiance got a chocolate ganache cake as a birthday gift from his sister. It's been in the fridge for a day and we got to trying it today. Id rank it as the best cake I've ever had. It was moist and the perfect amount of chocolatey but not too sweet. The whipped cream on top was delicious too. Can't pick a favorite part of the cake because I loved every part of it. Even the strawberry on top was tasty and fresh.

Ask the Community - Candle Light Bakery

Mexican Chocolate Cheesecake when? It's been over 5 years since you've had it and nothing comes close to equaling it's decadence. Please bring it back - it's one of the few things that brought joy into my life. :(

Do they have gluten free cakes?

Is there cake tasting when placing an order?

You know what, I have not done any cake tasting... I only buy there bake goods... You should ask them ...

Are they open during Coronavirus quarantine?

No, they aren't. :( All of their locations have been closed "until further notice" as of March 27, 2020. Check them out on IG @candlelightbakery for updates. Be well.

Does anyone know their website? It seems like the one listed candlelightbakery.net is no longer operational.

    That's a good one Sorry but I don't

I just really want to know why they even have a phone when they don't pick up? I called NINE times. Picture attached

Yes, they have one phone line but are an extremely busy bakery. They do not do consultations or orders over the phone, so if that's what you're looking for, you will have to stop by.

Do they use frozen/ready made whipped cream?

How much for 1 dz cupcakes?

I just ordered their horchata cupcakes a few weeks ago and it was $2.00 per cupcake, so $24.00 a dozen.

I am looking for a gluten free cake. Does anyone know if they bake gluten free cakes?

Can anyone rate their 'Tres Leches'? 1-5 scale, 5 = Best

Definitely a 5! I usually don't like tres leches because everywhere else I had it is too soggy. It's perfect here and their cakes are always fresh. I'm sure you'll love it! :)

Do any of the locations serve Italian rainbow cookies?

    Unfortunately they don't :(

Do you make cakes for dogs? Sounds super extra but doesn't hurt to ask.

If I'm not mistaken, they do not make dog cakes. I recommend PJ's Pet Cafe on 7th St in Long Beach :)

Do they have fruit tart cakes?

I have never seen a big fruit tart so maybe by special order? If walking in, they do have a napoleon cake which is the closest thing. There is a lot of fruit and custard and crispy pastry inside. It's good however it's not a traditional fruit tart…

Hi, Would it be too late to order a fondant cake for Saturday. I need it to feed approx. 20 people.?

Hopefully, you always mean 'next' Saturday

Do you sell a Star Wars themed cake?

I'm pretty sure they can make anything. They were able to make me a beach theme bridal cake. Good luck!

Fair Food Without the Fair!…read more The OC Fair may be over, but Dulce Canella in Norwalk is a great spot to satisfy those fair food cravings! We tried the red velvet and Fruity Pebbles milkshakes, and the Fruity Pebbles one was basically like drinking a bowl of cereal. The churros and fried Oreos were made fresh, crispy, and came with ice cream on the side. You could really hear the crunch with every bite! The churro cheesecake topped with fresh strawberries was another favorite. I liked that the texture was more cake-like and that it wasn't overly sweet. To balance out all the desserts, we also got the loaded chicken fries, which were topped with nacho cheese and crispy chicken. Definitely a good savory option after all those sweets. Overall, Dulce Canella is worth checking out if you're in the Norwalk area and have a sweet tooth. Lots of fun dessert options and some savory items to keep things balanced!

Meccha Matcha currently has three locations: Cerritos, Long Beach, and Pittsburgh, PA. [Parking]: I had no issue finding available free parking in the small strip mall. [Atmosphere]: Customers can order drinks via a kiosk, and there are about 6 indoor tables. [Menu]: The top 2 highlighted items on Yelp are Matcha Vanilla Oat Latte and Strawberry Matcha. **3 stars -- Helpful info before you go**…read more I was really looking forward to trying this matcha ice cream café, especially since I've been searching for a good matcha-and-ube ice cream experience. The ice cream itself was enjoyable, but a few things about the visit may be helpful for other Yelpers to know in advance. They don't offer samples of the available ice cream flavors, which was surprising since many other ice cream shops do. Also, the flavors listed on Yelp and social media did not seem to reflect what was currently available in-store, so I'd recommend checking directly with the café before visiting if you have a specific flavor in mind. We ordered a Level 1 matcha and a mango waffle cone. The flavor options for mixing also appear to depend on what they have already prepared and available that day. There were no pastries available during our visit either. Service was a bit underwhelming, but hopefully the café can improve communication around current flavors, samples, and daily offerings. I'll continue my search for that ideal matcha-ube ice cream combination, but this could still be worth a stop if you're flexible and simply craving matcha ice cream.

Update: They're no longer affiliated with Fivestars!…read more I've since gone two additional times to try their waffle bites. My last trip was kind of spontaneous because I suddenly got a Fivestars reward that day for these waffle bites. However, when I arrived, I was looking for the Fivestars tablet only to be met by a Clover tablet instead. It felt like I went through a time warp because the employee working behind the register didn't seem to have any idea what I was trying to say regarding Fivestars, though he did notice a little trifold card on the front counter mentioning Fivestars. I asked if he could get his manager so I could explain, and even show, him my Fivestars reward. The reward said "already accepted", which he almost thought meant I had redeemed it already, but if that were the case, then it would have said "already redeemed". Given that they've now done away with Fivestars, I'm not too surprised he may have gotten the words "accepted" confused with "redeemed", but luckily, he was happy enough to honor it for me. The employee who assisted me was very helpful, though he did ask me to repeat the topping and the drizzle that I wanted. I chose the Strawberry Cheesecake flavor ice cream with Fruity Pebbles toppings and a Strawberry drizzle on top. Since I had already tried the cookie flavors before, I figured I'd try the fruity flavors this time around. He said he needed about 5 minutes to prepare my waffle bites, which were presented a little different than last time. Last time, I got the Cookie Butter flavor with *Cookie* Crisp and Peanut *Butter* (see what I did there?), and it came in a small plastic takeout container. This one came in a large plastic cup, and I'm thinking the logistics may have changed a ton between my last two visits. I did appreciate how the employee asked if I wanted the waffles on top of or beneath the ice cream before making the waffle bites; I chose on top. He also asked if I'd like powdered sugar on top, to which I agreed. Unfortunately, neither of the waffle bites I got from my last two visits impressed me that much. As a matter of fact, the only thing that impressed me was the strawberry drizzle. Everything else fell kind of flat. While generous in size for the $8 price tag, the Cookie Butter and the Strawberry Cheesecake ice cream didn't really taste like these flavors at all! For whatever reason, the peanut butter didn't add much flavor, but the strawberry drizzle added a lot! How even?! In short, the waffle bites weren't that much of an upgrade from the ice cream scoop that I had on my first visit. I'm willing to say "too much good was no good" here. The waffles themselves were good, but they can only do so much when a flavored ice cream doesn't even taste like that flavor. It's worth noting that on my penultimate visit, when I got the Cookie Butter Waffle Bites, I saw two employees behind the front counter who were ready to take my order. I asked them to explain what the waffle bites were, but it took them a couple of tries to actually understand what I was asking. From what I gathered, the waffle bites were similar to the ice cream scoop I had on my first visit, but with the addition of a warm waffle to supplement the ice cream. However, the step-by-step process remains the same. I was initially told it would take 6 minutes to prepare the Cookie Butter Waffle Bites, but it actually took 15! It seemed like one was training the other or they were trying to gather the ingredients and/or the steps needed to create the waffle bites. After about 10 minutes, I was told by one of the employees they had to make a new batch of waffles because the first batch had burnt. The music was getting pretty loud, so it was hard to hear him after that, but I didn't want to hold up the kitchen prep process any longer. I just said "Alright, sure" so he could continue preparing my order. I do appreciate how he let me know of this so that I'd know the reason for the extended wait, but I wish they weren't so ill-prepared during my visit. So overall, still 3 stars overall. I appreciate the prior partnership with Fivestars, but these missed opportunities have led me to believe that Cravings is just not for me. I doubt I'll try anything else on their ice cream menu, and considering that there are only a few parking spots in their lot, it will take a lot to get me to try their hot chicken. And speaking of lack of parking, I also want to mention that on my second visit, I saw two open parking stalls right in front of Cravings, one on either side of a car. That car had its driver's side wide open so that I couldn't park there. I had to park on the passenger side of that car, which he left much less room for. Perhaps a microcosm of the clientele in this part of town? Everybody deserves a second chance, right? Unfortunately, not everybody can make the most of them, and this is just one example of such. Thanks for the sweet treats Cravings, but I'll get my next one somewhere else.

My only tiny wish is that the strawberries were cut into smaller pieces so I could get one in every bite, but honestly I'll gladly do it myself. I come here all the time just for this dessert. It's my go-to and never disappoints.

Visited here for something sweet after lunch with the fam. This spot was only a minute away from…read morethe plaza we were at. They offer Hong Kong desserts, so we were eager to try this spot. Parking: They're located in a high foot traffic plaza, so finding a parking spot can be difficult. Ambiance/Environment: They have a small space with a decent amount of indoor seating. The tables and seats were kept clean. There's cute decor from the ceiling as well. This is the type of spot where you'd bring your family with younger kids for something sweet, while the adults sit and talk. When we visited, my family and one other family pretty much took up all the tables lol. Service: There was only one worker behind the counter serving and making the drinks and desserts. She doesn't acknowledge anyone. It wasn't too busy, but throughput took a while since she was by herself. There's two kiosk to order from. You don't really interact with the worker until she brings out your order. Desserts & drinks: We ordered a mixture of almost everything. We noticed there were a few menu items that were out of stock. I ordered a mango pamelo sago, my sister ordered a brown sugar boba milk tea, my cousin ordered an americano, and my other cousin ordered a strawberry & cream eggette. I thought the mango pamelo sago was okay; the mango flavor was lacking except for the actual mangos. There was plenty of sago, but I thought this dessert was underwhelming. My sister thought the boba was okay bc it had an interesting texture, and the drink itself was lightly sweet than what she's used to. My cousin thought the coffee was okay. The only thing we all enjoyed was the eggette. It's a bubble waffle with ice cream and fresh fruits, which is pretty difficult to mess up. Pricing: Prices are pretty high for the portions offered. Overall, the desserts were underwhelming and some didn't meet our expectations. The eggettes are most likely the only thing we'll come back for.

Last minute search for something to drop off for the after school staff, could not find any bakery…read moreor cookies that seemed interesting enough. Searching down the map for the drive back from LA, saw this interesting thing. And great reviews from others sealed the deal to try it out. Online ordering with pick up time was very convenient. Driving down, got a text about 5 min before pick up time, just perfect. Cute and super clean store. Friendly gal grabbed the order for me and I was off in no time. Got the party pack (30) for the school staff, and of course had to try for myself too with a regular (9). Ended up being an hour and a half before I got around to trying our box of 9. Looked interesting enough. Kid took his bite and said yum. I took mine to the sink (lol) to catch any crumbs, but surprised me that it's not just a ball of a regular donut. This had an amazingly satisfying crispy crunchy exterior, with an airy chewy interior! I can't imagine how much better it would be when freshly made at the store! Even an hour and a half later was delicious... Me and the kid quickly devoured our 3 each and struggled to leave 3 for wife before we had to go to an activity. When we returned, wife was also raving, what was that, where did you get it? Trust me, you will not be able to eat just one. I'm greedy, I definitely want more than 3 next time! Donut ball itself wasn't overly sweet, just delicious period. I guess it's the toppings that add the sweetness. Only tried the classic (honey cinnamon, walnut). The other flavors will probably be amazing desserts, but I think all I need is just the donut ball by itself. Honey and walnut adds a bit of sweetness and bite, but the base donut ball is a shining star on it's own in my book! Good thing was the honey was mostly on the bottom and walnut crumbles on top, so you can rub as much or not of those as it fits you. Few days later, each of us were still talking about this greek donut. Just looking for a reason to grab this again. Father's day is coming up, I think it's time for a Party!

Chose this due to location and suit the occasion, recommend for that, not something I would go out of my way for unless something stood out on the menu - for me this is because I'm not a super sweets person or rather, my taste is picky since a lot of things I'm pretty ambivalent about like dark chocolate and like 30-60% of cakes I will not care to eat to give you a background on my taste profile - like savory/meat to add another context for my opinion/taste
