So a long time favorite for my Tex-Mex fix when I am home in Waco. They were overwhelmed last night so it is sort of understandable they would have a bad night except they kept saying we've been doing this for 50 years. If you have been doing this for 50 years you should know how to keep a list and seat people in a rational and organized way. We waited for much longer than they said. Not a bad experience, the food was good. But, for the little higher prices that they charge, the food should be ON POINT! First of all... if you're going to have a Tex Mex restaurant, you better have a bartender that can make a great michelada!!! They use V8 as mixer... NOPE!!! Second of all, the beef fajitas lacked seasoning and the meat had a lot of grissle. But we're not horrible. The service was excellent and the decor was very inviting. Used to be one of the best. Tried again tonight. Service was fair seemed like the wait staff didn't care. Food was mediocre at best. Hard taco shells were soggy. Burrito was only ok with more fillings than meat. There are far better places in Waco for the price. read more

Nothing like waiting to call in an order, use the convenient drive thru to pick it up, and enjoy the food at home. Well don't expect to do that at La Fiesta, because at La Fiesta the GoTo ordering closes at 8:30pm and it's advised that you come inside, order at the bar, and sit and wait around for your food. QUALITY HAS GONE DOWN!!!!! We ordered to go. I got home and had the wrong food. I called them and advised and drove back another 15 minutes across town and got an apology and a drink offer. You did not check my order and had to make two round trips and you offer em a 50 cent drink and when I got directly home, it was pretty much cold. The last time we were there, they would not admit that something that my wife was allergic to was out on her food. Things happen but come on and at least admit there was an issue. Started going here in 1976, and was our favorite for decades. Won't go back after too many bad meals. Food frequently cold. Service frequently poor. They have changed too many of the recipes, changed the chips and salsa, which went from great to fair. All of the dishes I have tried in the past few years have been bad. What a shame! read more

2/4/2013, La Fiesta was supposed to carter our event (a standing catering event that they cater every month) and they didn't show up! We had to call another caterer that also caters the same event each month and pray they were able to through something together. The other caterer was able save our Monday event. How do these people forget an event that they do at the same time and place once a month? read more

Horrible service! Told our party of 5 the wait was only 15 minutes--we waited an hour! We checked several times because we had two small hungry children in our party, and eventually they told us they didn't know how long it would take. Several parties of 4 and 5 who came in after us got seated before us! When I went to complain to the manager, I was told to wait. 10 minutes of waiting he never came back. We finally left. We were so embarrassed because we had out of town guests in our party because we told them how great La Fiesta was. Never again!! This place is an embarrassment to Waco. read more

Like the atmosphere a lot, frozen Margaritas are great and really like the sweet salsa. Overall I really enjoy the place.

Amazing food, fantastic margaritas, and outstanding service!! Our server Kyle went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible service!! He was patient while we enjoyed drinks and encouraged us to stay and enjoy the live music once we finished dining. He divided our bill and went so far as to split shared meals between tickets. Okay, I have always been a fan but now have a "bad taste in my mouth" (no pun intended)! I placed a to go order that I picked up from the window. So, no labor involved here. I ordered 3 tacos ala carte, 2 pints of salsa & chips. The stunner--my bill was over $30. That's right no rice or beans & no service costs. The salsas were $5 each so I paid $10.00 for hot sauce. I expected that price to include free chips but they charged my $4.50 for the chips and even charged a $2.50 "packing fee". So, now I am aware of the fact that La Fiesta is the only restaurant in Waco that charges a fee for take-out. I will not return on priciple alone. There is a great mexican food restaurant on every corner of Waco so I will not return to La Fiesta on principle alone. Come on Sam, really?!?! read more

Service was horrible! We waited 2hrs to get seated. When told the wait was 45min. Then another hour and still never got our food. We ended up just leaving. Everyone was rude...we talked to the manager who was rude also. Will never go back there!!! We where regular customers but the last 2 times we have been have been horrible. read more

I have been eating at lafiesta since I was born. It has always been one of my favorite places to eat and still is.' The food and service are always great, however yesterday my roommate and I went to get something to eat after work. The hostess sat us and the waiter came promptly, he seemed really good and even pointed out the happy hour specials. He brought our drinks and chips. Someone else brought our food, and we never saw our waiter again. My roommate began to feel bad (not from the food) and we were waiting on the waiter to return so we could ask for a to go box and get our check. I had to get up and go get the to go box myself and then I asked another waitress if she knew where our waiter had disappeared to , she said she would check but he never came, We left $25 on the table (hope it was enough to cover the ticket) and left. That has to be the absolute worse service I had ever received at La Fiesta. read more

The food is great and the guacamole is fresh. No problems with the food or drinks. However, we have been here twice and the service was terrible both times. The first time we had to wait a long time just to have our order taken. It look a lot longer than it should have to get the food and then we had to wait again for the check. It didn't take long to get the signature receipt that time though. The second time we got our food fast but the waitress seemed to forget about us. She checked on our table briefly twice but didn't refill our drinks even once. A different waiter finally came by to bring our check and took our card to the original waitress who was waiting on a party in another room. There were extra servers standing around and our waitress was away nearly the entire time. The restaurant wasn't busy either time we went either. We probably won't go back. Great food does not make up for poor service. If you go, I hope you have better service than us. Good luck! read more

This used to be a cool place. I was going to eat here but changed my mind when I sat at the bar and the bartender asked "May I help you?" like I was inconveniencing her. I felt like telling her "No" and just sitting there for a few minutes. Got a margarita then left. Their terrible remodeling job has a huge bar right in front of the door. I was visiting from out-of-town and a co-worker suggested this place for lunch. It was the absolute WORST dining experience of my life. I have never penned an online review of any eating establishment, however, this place compelled me to do so. I even went as far as to set up a Google account (necessary to write a review) to voice my disgust with this eatery where exceptionally POOR food quality reigns, partnered with tasteless entrees. Our inept waiter took his cue from the food quality and was clearly not equipped to handle more than one table at a time. I would've been better off leaving the cost of my meal at the door as charity than to subject my body to this wretched consumption. After two bites, I was done. I stumbled across the receipt, of which I purposefully saved, in order to remind myself to do this review. This place needs a strong dose of UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! Sam this is a response to your reply to my comments about LA fiesta first of all my wife has always enjoy your Margarita but she took one sip and said it was the worst one she had ever been serve from any place she been to and she always brag on Lafiesta to other people before . The waiter ask if she wanted to try something else she said no way because we noticed for awhile that the bar tender was enjoying talking to the group of girls there more than paying attention to making his drinks we felt like and he wanted to do was rush so the girls would stay and talk with him. Then there was the cleanness of your restaurant there was trash (napkins food pieces) under tables that was not use and also in the walk area between the tables I had fajitas and the guacamole was really runny not what I have gotten in the past I wish I would of order the table side instead . But it might been a flop. We had two waiters,why 2, one came back to let my grandson know that the root beer he order would not come with refills bec as use it came in a bottle,we understood this and told our grandson it would be better to get tea so he agree and then the next thing we know is the other waiter brought the root beer then the we had a root beer and tea for my grandson. The cost is not an issue at all the service did matter the cleanness matter the quality of the food matters, and we felt like we can overlook some issues at times but when it all happens at once it is a mind blowing thing. Sam my wife wanted me to speak to you that night but we never saw you and again the young man that was at the greeting table by the from door was just like the bartender talking to a grup of 4 young women. He never even looking at me to see if I had a problem or what after about four minutes I left and my wife and I talked about the bad experience we just had.
