I was coming home from the airport and was craving something. Wasn't quite sure what and then I decided to go with Italian. I went here for lunch and it was spectacular, they had just opened at 11:30am and I was the first one in and they were ready to go. I got to pick where I would sit. Walking in the decor was really nice, a lot of dark woods and the warm lighting made the whole place feel super cozy and inviting. For my meal I ordered the Chicken Parmigiana and a 10 inch Pepperoni Pizza. The chicken was breaded perfectly and covered in the most delicious sauce and melted cheese. The pizza was just as amazing with a great crust and plenty of pepperoni. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and the portions were great. The service was excellent from start to finish since they were so prepared for the lunch crowd. If you are ever in the area or flying in and need a fantastic meal, I highly recommend checking this spot out. I will definitely be back! read more

Last night we had the biggest portion size since we first started going to La Figata. The food was and always is delicious. The service is always excellent here as well. When we first walked in it was packed and we really wanted a booth so the front desk attendant made sure we got what we wanted. That felt great as he made it his priority to ensure we were happy right off the bat. This is my top favorite dinner place in Granby. I have NEVER had a bad experience. read more

On a scale of 1-10 for sloppiness I'd give this place an 11! I love how wet and boiled the meatballs were. I have a hard time chewing solid foods so it's great for me when the pasta sauce is more of a soup than an actual sauce. Definitely coming back! read more

Ok so it's in a dusty looking plaza but don't let that keep you away. We had a really great experience here! We went on a Sunday night around 6:30 and it was really quiet in here. I think only 3 other tables and by the time we left maybe one. The good thing about that is our server never rushed us and it was like we had the place to ourselves because of where we were seated. We started off with a couple of their barrel aged cocktails. The Manhattan (makers mark base) and the old fashioned (bulleit). The old fashioneds were great but I think the Manhattan was exceptional! For apps we ordered cheesy garlic bread (where was the garlic??). The pasta sauce was ok. We also tried the Brussel sprouts and they were awesome. The mussels were a smallish portion but the broth/sauce was SO GOOD. So good that we had to order more bread just to put it to good use! For dinner I had the lasagna w their bolognese sauce and it was very flavorful and a nice sized portion. I could only finish half. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals as well. We had a 6 person Friday night reservation & were greeted warmly by the staff. Our table was roomy and comfortable and the music volume was just right! We really appreciated being able to hear each other without shouting. There were a number of specials, which our waiter did a good job describing. Three ordered the warm spinach salad, that was definitely big enough to share w up to 3 diners. I opted for the linguine w shrimp and asked then to add scallops (there was an up charge). The portions were generous and I enjoyed my leftovers the next day. The only regret was not finding any eggplant on the menu because I was craving it. I was a bit distracted and didn't take as many photos as i usually do. I recommend giving La Figata a try for yourself. read more

A good little Italian spot and it's very nice inside. We had a party of 6 and the waitress was very patient and kind with us. We were a chatty group and had a lot of questions we didn't feel rushed. We ordered a few items but I don't have a lot of pictures. The mussels app was delicious it tasted like a very hearty broth you wanted to have a soup. The Brussels sprouts were good. I ordered the shrimp scampi as my main dish I wasn't over the moon over but I did order something I normally wouldn't. The bolognese is what you need to get if you come here. read more

A friend recommended La Figata for dinner. The staff is super friendly, personable & super engaging with customers. Our waitress had such a great attitude and was helpful in deciding what to eat. The food was absolutely delicious! Chicken parm was flavorful & the sauce to cheese ratio was perfect! The scallops with risotto was a terrific balance of sweet and savory. This place was incredible! For starters, our server was amazing and checked up on us frequently and got our order into the kitchen incredibly fast. For starters we were recommended to try the calamari and I am so glad we listened. Usually I am not the biggest fan of calamari because more times than not it is chewy or tastes rubbery but I did not have that issue with this calamari. It was flavorful and no weird textures. The dipping sauce that it came with was also yummy. For our meal, my mom and I shared the pasta flight, which included a spicy marinara sauce, pesto cream sauce, and Alfredo. They were all delicious and I am not too sure I could even choose a favorite. For a flight, there was also a healthy serving size of pasta in each bowl. Before leaving we HAD to try their pizza and opted for the margherita. The crust was soft and the sauce and cheese were delicious and tasted very fresh. From my seat I could even watch them cooking it in their brick oven. Highly recommend adding this place to your dining list! read more

Nice ambience, casual but neat, clean and contemporary . Hard surfaces so I imagine on a busy night it might be noisy. Music was thankfully in the background and not obtrusive. Our waitress was pleasant , greeted us simply. She was efficient and served us well. Thursday's are half price on bottles so we enjoyed a montpulciano d' abruzzo although we had to correct that on the bill . We had a 14 inch pizza with artichoke, pancetta and roasted peppers. Overall the pizza was very good. A nice thin crust with lots of flavor. The sauce was excellent , tomato forward. It was sweet for my wife but fine by me. I thought the toppings were a little sparse but good quality. They were unevenly distributed. Light on the cheese which I like. No complaints there. Overall the pizza gets good to very good . The clams casino however an utter failure. To me clams casino are clams on the half shell with a sprinkling of bacon or pancetta, maybe diced pepper, a teaspoon or so of seasoned bread crumbs passed under the broiler or salamander. These were stuffed little necks. As much as I love Rhode Island Stuffies which are large stuffed clams , these were not even good stuffed clams. The clams were removed from the shell , chopped then and presumably mixed with an abundance of bread crumbs and some other ingredients and mounded back in the shells. The result was a dry bread crumbs forward and otherwise flavorless stuffing. Not all what I was expecting. read more

Tonight we tried La Figata for the first time, starting with drinks and an appetizer of deviled eggs with crab. The eggs were fresh with ample crabmeat mixed with the egg yolk and were very good, nicely presented. Wife and daughter shared the Figata pizza with gorgonzola, caramelized onions, pancetta, fig jam, fresh arugula, balsamic drizzle. Both loved it and brought about 1/3rd of it home. I had the 14 inch pepperoni. The sauce was slightly on the sweet side with a great portion of cheese. The crust in the undercarriage was a tad on the weak side, but around the edges was very good and flavorful. The pepperoni was nice and savory as you would expect. My pizza on a score of 1-10 was a 6.5. For dessert the three of us shared the chocolate lava cake with chocolate ice cream and whipped cream. Sorry that the picture shows an empty played in three spoons, but it didn't last long. It was the hit of the evening. read more

I went with my family to La Figata for dinner. This is an Italian restaurant in Granby. It wasn't super busy when we arrived. We quickly got seated right across from the brick oven. I was starving, when I saw the New England Clam Chowder on the specials menu I knew I'd be getting that. However, the waitress and said there's a small correction on the specials menu, the chowder is actually the Rhode Island Chowder. I still got it, and forgot that there's a significant difference between the two, until it had arrived. The chowder was very runny and thin. It was far too salty. It had potatoes and bacon in it. The others in my party got the calamari, garlic bread and a pasta dish. They seemed pretty happy with it. I wanted to try the garlic bread, it was such a hit, that it was gone instantly! I also got The Figata pizza! I figured it had to be good since the restaurant was named after the pizza, or maybe the other way around?! The pizzas come in three sizes. I got the medium, because I knew I'd be sharing it. This was an ok pizza. The crust is pretty thin, but the edges were crunchy and crispy. There was plenty of fresh arugula on it. I didn't like the pancetta, there was a lot of it, making it the superior taste profile. There was also balsamic and fig jam, which is always interesting layering piece to any pizza. Overall, I can't say I'm impressed by anything at La Figata. They probably have very tasty pizzas, their signature pizza has a lot of potential, but it's not for me. read more

I really like their pizzas which are thin crust and taste delicious- I think the difference is in the sauce they use. Used to be good. We waited 45 minutes for garlic bread when the restaurant only had a few tables when we walked in. The bread was cold, hard, and lacked garlic. 30 minutes after the bread we got our pizza which became soggy within 10 minutes of eating it and simply was not a good quality pizza. This place is terrific! Do not let the fact it is in a shopping strip mall deter you. First impressions: high volume pizza takeout primarily with larger than average seating. It is Italian food base, however, it is not the routine menu rehashed. It has an interesting spin on the basics of Italian restaurant choice but with their own dynamic and unique touch. Food preparation is well done and the flavor is outstanding and delicious. Well stocked liqueur and wine list. The people are inviting and welcoming. Very patient and knowledgeable. ALL of our requests were honored without any rebuke. The place is clean in every aspect. Not cheap, but not expensive for the refreshing twist you will encounter. Plenty of parking. The pizza was delicious. The crust held up to the toppings which were fresh and plentiful. The service is always the best. And the overall ambiance is perfect. On a recent visit we ordered the lasagna. I was so hungry I forgot to take a pic. It was the best lasagna I think I have ever eaten. Their bolognese sauce is outstanding. We went here to celebrate a friend's 80th. After moving tables because sitting near the window was way too bright, we ordered drinks and appetizer which was just garlic bread and cheesy bread. We got our drinks but I still had to pour my tonic (so bizarre). We ordered our food and the waitress got a bit argumentive with one of our guest for wanting a GF pasta option to the short rib dish. We would have walked out there but stuck around. We waited another 20-25 minutes and no appetizer. When we asked she told us she would bring it out with our meals "to dunk". Ummm no, we requested it as an appetizer. It came out completely dry and, I would say, crispy as it probably sat under a heat lamp the whole time. It wasn't good. Our meals came out about 20 minutes later (mind you, one waitress/bartender for the entire restaurant). The meals were just underwhelming. I had buccatini carbonara and it was swimming in a lot of oil, the flavor was olive garden standard. Nothing to write home about. It took probably another 30 minutes to get our check and to go boxes as our waitress was busy with other guests. Overall, the whole experience was just poor and we'll never go back. read more

HAPPY HOUR REVIEW We were really impressed at just how beautiful the interior of La Figata is. It's even more impressive when you realize the location is in a space previously occupied by a McDonalds and a carpet store. Three of us came in for Happy Hour today and we have to tell you, their Happy Hour is one helluva great deal. For one beer, one glass of wine, one Nojito (alcohol free mocktail), and four half price appetizers, the bill came in under $41. That's great value. Now of course, value isn't really a value unless the quality of what you pay for is high, and without a doubt the food we sampled tonight was of a very high quality. The HH drinks and appetizers all ranged between $5 and $6 apiece. Our appetizers were a Burrata Caprese salad (with grilled bread, halved cherry tomatoes, and a big scoop of burrata over arugula), an order of Crispy Calamari and Cherry Peppers (served with a Lemon roasted garlic aioli and spicy tomato sauce), an order of Veal, Beef and Pork Meatballs (served over Parmesan polenta, plum tomato sauce and basil pesto), and an order of fig and ricotta bruschetta (served over grilled bread). All four dishes tasted great, but as far as portion size and overall value, I'd say the meatballs and calamari were at the top of the class. I'm a big fan of calamari and this version was superb, characterized by zero grease, a generous portion of tender squid, and some pretty potent hot pepper slices. At $5.50, it was an outright steal! I want to give a shout-out to our delightful server Mandy. She was a real joy to interact with and made our meal even more enjoyable. read more

The food was good - I didn't love the garlic bread and the pasta flight was pretty simple. The mushroom tart and the short rib were delicious. I didn't love the service. This visit "sniffed in" at 3.5 stars... ANTIPASTO -- a nice rendition with some less frequently seen additions at an Italian ristorante RATING = A- RICOTTA GNOCCHI w/vegetables -- This dish was essentially "ricotta gnocchi primavera" as it was loaded with plenty of veggies and no discernible sauce. Last year I was out and dad took us here and it was "ricotta gnocchi in oily pesto sauce" which was much nicer. It's not that the primavera version did not work at all, it's that the flavor was lacking and the pesto version was better and a more logical choice. RATING = A- SIDE OF VEGGIES -- I mistakenly ordered this not realizing my entree of "ricotta gnocchi primavera" furnished me with plenty. I wish they would have grilled the veggies in oil and touched them up with some fresh garlic, garlic salt or sea salt to add some more flavor. Regardless, at least they were healthy. RATING = B "WEST COAST CANNOLO" Pastry -- There were two cannoli served on a plate. The cheese was of a loose consistency and questionably ricotta even though I was advised it was. It was a total sugar bomb via above average sweetness and was topped off with whipped cream, chocolate sauce and caramel sauce. I know it is tempting to try and make a cannolo fancier at a restaurant versus a bakery but please do not do it. If I wanted a "West Coast Cannolo" I could have that any day of the week at home via a number of faux Italian restaurants in my California neighborhood. RATING = C+ This restaurant is capable of better and was better last summer. read more

Just as good as my last visit! I met a friend here for an early lunch on Sunday and was excited to see some creative mocktails on the drink list. We both started with the refreshing Italian Spritz (peach, ginger, rosemary, seltzer) while mulling over our meal options. Turns out, it was happy hour all day (yay!) so we had some nice apps to choose from - otherwise, we were given dinner menus which seemed kind of strange. Still, we opted for the buffalo cauliflower, fried calamari, and personal eggplant ricotta pizza off the happy hour menu. All were excellent - and the two apps were full sized portions. We also chose a nice, hearty pasta dish off the dinner menu - fresh pappardelle with braised beef, wild mushrooms, parmesan cheese, mascarpone, asparagus, and herbs. It was definitely rich and filling so I'm glad we decided to share everything. I'm usually way too full for dessert, but I'm thrilled that we decided to stick around for something sweet. The chocolate peanut butter cheesecake is INSANE. Surprisingly light and fluffy - and the salted caramel drizzle complemented it perfectly. La Figata is within a 20 min drive for me and well worth a visit! read more

Until dessert came, I seriously thought I had lost my sense of taste due to how bland every dish was. The only exception was the calamari, which was doused in honey and somehow referred to as "Rhode Island" style. The gnocchi dish has 0 flavor, somehow even lacking salt, and the sauce had clearly broken. The meatballs were equivalent to a frozen food item and the tomato sauce was more of a tomato soup. The garlic bread was basically warmed up dough, which is odd given the pizza oven. The tiramisu was fine. You would be better off spending $20+ per dish at Olive Garden. read more

We had lunch in a very comfortable booth. It's nice to have private seating. Too many restaurants have tiny tables too close together. As for the food, the pizza was excellent. The Rhode Island calamari was a bit dry but tasty. Staff was very attentive. We'll definitely return. read more
