Great food and service simple comfort food! Thin crust pizza food was good and pleasant atmosphere. We will be back!

There is a relatively new pizza place in Granby called Verona. I tried a small pepperoni today and it is adequate though not extra extraordinary, based on a New York style thin crust pizza with flat pepperonis. On a scale of 1 to 10, the small pepperoni was a 6.5. Not extraordinary. Verona has a huge menu and we may be back to try something else at a later date read more

This area needed a place like Verona for a long time. We've been there numerous times, always meets expectations. It's a casual place with a great, varied menu. The sandwiches are great. So three star review does not mean the pizza is bad, the sauce is good, the dough is chewy and it is an average pie. I would not put it at the top near the New Haven pizza names, but it is fine. I have a favorite downstate pizza and a favorite local pie. I do like the price. Service was good. The hardest thing I had to do was trying to find their phone number. There are many pizza and Italian restaurants in this world named Verona. It is good, average pizza. read more

I ordered garlic knots , pizza( buffalo chicken) and a salad. friendly and accommodating. Atmosphere was quiet and clean.

Our first visit to this new restaurant in Granby CT. Very friendly staff and authentic Italian dishes. Ordered a Stromboli and a Granby cheese steak. Both dishes were excellent. I really would like this to be a great local restaurant. But today I ordered two paninis. Remember that this is marketed to be an Italian restaurant. However the two panini's were not grilled, nor pressed. They were essentially grinders that were oven baked. Simply NOT what is expected when one is ordering paninis. read more

I am a transplant from NJ where in my former area there are literally hundreds of truly fine restaurants if you include NYC. Since moving to Eastern Ct some time ago I have been whining about the relative lack of really fine authentic food. Comparisons are odious I suppose but missing the opportunity to really "dine" has been one of the downsides of my relocation. Last night we discovered "The Verona" in Granby about 45 minutes from our home. We found it to be truly exceptional in every respect. I had Chicken Francaise, one of my favorite standard Italian dishes. It was absolutely perfect. It came with a nice salad, wonderful bread baked by the chef on premises and pasta with a red sauce the was infused with sweet basil and of course made with San Marzano tomatoes. You choose your own pasta made to order. I guess I sound like a shill because I am so impressed with Chef Mario and the staff. I assure you that I have never met these folks nor do I have any connection with their business. I am just an old guy in his eighties who loves to cook. I have dined in many places in the world and I assure you that this modest restaurant in a shopping center in Granby is worth driving a long distance. Also the music was soft and pleasant and the place was spotless. All this for what I think was about $23.00. I can't wait to go back. read more

I live around the corner from Verona Pizza, they opened about a year ago. Thought I'd stop in and give it a try. First, the tv had a saxophone player on it and it was super loud and unpleasant (right next to the register). I asked about a slice of pizza and couldn't see it (normally when a pizza place states it serves slices, it's under a heat lamp where you can see it). So I asked if I could see the pizza, she yells to a guy whose not in front and he comes out and pulls the pizza near the floor on a rack. He was clearly irritated by the ask. I said no thank you and sat by the register to look at the menu. I ordered a sub and she tells me 15 minutes, there's only 2 people sitting in there. I go and sit in my car, so I don't have to listen to their poor choice of loud entertainment to wait. My car in parked facing their front door, steps away and she sees me sitting there. I set my alarm for 12 minutes. When it goes off, I go in and she walks to the other counter and hands me my sub. It had been sitting there for several minutes apparently. I was surprised she didn't have to me or even perhaps bring it to me; I was that close. I said well thank you for letting me know. She was consumed with her cell phone with personal events instead of bothering with her job. If this restaurant treats all their customers like this, they will be out of business by next year. They were not busy. I felt like I was interrupting her with my business. Won't ever return and will share my experience. read more

Great food. Salads, pizza, and subs all generous and delicious. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. Clean and bright atmosphere.

Food ok. Meatball grinder ok, nothing special, cheese pizza very good. The service terrible. They are overwhelmed, have no customer service to speak off and a very sweet young waitress is doing the best she can but clearly with no training. Multiple people waiting for pick up, complete chaos trying to get their orders together. Customer waiting a 1/2 hour for a burger that was sitting waiting to be delivered. While there, a customer who had been waiting 1/2 hour for her take out that she ordered an hour before screamed across the restaurant "please just give me my food I just want to get out of here". They proceeded to ask her TWICE what kind of dressing she wanted on her salad. She reiterated NONE I just want to get out of here. No one apologized, no one offered to compensate her. New business = apologize / give her the meal for free / where was the owner? / just left the poor waitress floundering. I understand working out the kinks when things are new but I am not seeing much hope for that happening. read more

Waited 2 weeks to write this as I was so infuriated. I have ordered 6 times over 6 months.. the first 5 were all wrong and had to return. The 6th time I explained my frustration and orderwas 100% correct. The young girls as staff and very friendly and helpful. Now the 7th time i said the same things, and I will NEVER go back. such an easy order. Cheesburger grinder, Lettuce, tomato, mayo. Their computer and owner want to make it only as its in the menu,. I stress I cannot have onions, and only want lettuce tomato mayo... receipt says lettuce tomato mayo, I get home it has Onions and pickles. I go back and who i assume owner says the menu has whats on it...... I lost my mind. If you want to make a change to anything on the menu..... dont go, you will just be dissapointed. read more

Waited 2 hours for my pizza, it was never started and they refused to refund me. The place was packed full of people waiting for food for excessive amounts of time and the staff kept taking orders. After standing there for an hour, they finally checked my ticket and couldn't find it. I ordered from another place up the road and they had a delicious pizza ready 20 mins later. Don't pay until they put a pizza in your hands!! If they refunded me, I'd chalk it up to growing pains and give them another shot. read more

New restaurant in Granby. Great pizza. I have issues with dairy and this place has vegan cheese. I got a pepperoni and sausage pie with the vegan cheese. Delicious! Best pizza I've had since I've come to New England from down south. It might actually be the best pizza I've ever had. The service was absolutely amazing and the grilled chicken I added to my salad was full of flavor and very juicy. Whole experience was just exceptional. Placed a pick-up order through the Toast app. I was told when I arrived at the stated time, I was told that my order was not complete yet. My pizza was done, but my grinder was still being worked on. 25 minutes later, the sub was finally done. When I asked how long my pizza was sitting on top of the oven, the server told me, "Only about 20 minutes". it has been longer than that, because my pizza was done when I arrived. So, my pizza was about a half an hour old when I finally received it. The "steak and cheese" grinder was like eating cardboard. Zero seasoning. And I can make bland, tasteless "steak-ums" in my kitchen, I don't need to overpay for it at a restaurant. I expect real steak, not reformed beef mush. Unsurprisingly, my pizza was cold and rubbery. What a sad attempt at a restaurant. In the 25 minutes I waited for my food, there were at least three phone calls from people either wondering where their food delivery was, or calling to say that something had been left out of their order. I live and work in town, and this will be my last visit to this place. They should be embarrassed. read more
