We ordered 2 pizzas: meatball pesto upon recommendation of our waitress (v tasty and meatballs were not overcooked), margarita - both were thin crust and delicious; two pastas: homemade gnocchi and the penne w chicken and mushrooms (additional Parmesan cheese helped), calamari (cooked to perfection - tender and comes with an aioli and traditional marinara), olives were very salty (we had leftover), 2 salads - a seasonal one w butternut squash and one with artichokes- both were a great accompaniment to the carb-laden meal. The server apologized and she brought it back to the kitchen. Not her fault. They brought back the same chicken less the piece I ate. This restaurant does some things well - pizza is pretty good. Unfortunately they do NOT know how to cook chicken parmigiana. The chicken was so overcooked it was tough to cut, let alone chew. The breading was mushy, not crispy. Clearly the chicken is being cooked well in advance and then heated back up, further ruining it. If you are going to do Italian, you should know how to make a chicken parm. Kitchen staff needs some proper training. read more

The staff overall have an attitude like the guests are below them and should just be happy to be given a seat at this very mediocre restaurant. I really wanted to love it and this was the third but last time I will give it another shot. On paper the menu sounds amazing but the presentation and execution is seriously lacking. My entree, the short rib, pappardelle, Marscapone, Asparagus- with just the asparagus stems, (they clearly used the tips for something else and threw the scraps in my "dish") looked like sloppy left overs about to be reheated. Actually, they kind of were left overs as our entrees were delivered to the table next to us, left there for a couple of minutes, and then brought back to the kitchen before coming back out to our table moments later. Gross. Not even convincingly fixed. You could at least replated onto differently shaped bowls/plates which would fool most people. Our server was fine. However- when a guest barely touches their food and does not want it wrapped it is common sense to ask if there was a problem. I barely ate anything from my dish, and most of it went in the trash without so much as a thought about why! I am not the type that is difficult to please, unreasonable, or lacking understanding that things happen. I felt like an inconvenience though tonight and the last time I was here. I visited this restaurant with my family for my birthday dinner and although the servers were great and friendly, we ended up with most of our meals being taken home to donate to a homeless shelter because the pastas all lacked flavor. However, the worst part of our evening was when one of the servers was taking a picture of my family and myself and the person who was making pizzas was asked by the server to move out of the picture unless he wanted to photobomb it (which she said is a joking manner). At the time when he was asked to move, he was not preparing pizzas, he was just standing there. His response to the server was "I am trying to f***ing work". I did not say anything because I did not want to make a scene in front of my kids but I will not return to the restaurant for this reason. The pizza maker was completely inappropriate and rude! What makes this experience worse is I emailed the restaurant the morning after our visit and almost a week later, no one has reached to apologize for their staff behavior. It is my hope that you utilize this feedback to train your staff properly on both producing food that has flavor and to think before they speak, especially in front of children. read more

Went on a Saturday night. Easy to get a table but the restaurant has a lot of space. Waitress was friendly and was available to provide good service throughout the meal. Ordered the Shrimp Fra Diavolo. It was well seasoned and a decent portion. My wife had the Faroe Island Salmon which was also seasoned well and was the second time she had it. The first was a little more bland but this time it was much more flavorful. Overall a good experience to eat out. Not many Italian options in the ear so this is good for us although it may be a bit pricey. Still have yet to order pizza here but I heard it is good. The food was very good. The staff and management of the place not so much. We had a reservation for 4 at 6:30. We arrived at 6:25. The hostess said it would be a few minutes before our seat would be ready. After 25 minutes standing in a bar that is too filled with tables and easily crowded, we checked our table. We were offered one in front of the bar, at the window. Our waitress seemed like she was doing us a favor by serving us. Our appetizer came out, then salads, which we asked for bread. This place is a solid 3.7 3.8 but I gave it a 4. Food, excellent. The meatballs are killer, the veal parm isn't what you expect. The bone is still in. Breaded very well and cooked perfectly. I was apprehensive about getting this dish because I typically like a thin veal cutlet. I was very impressed. The gluten free pizza I thought was really good but my wife went crazy for it. The cons are, the waitress isn't very attentive. She only filled our water once, never brought a to-go container for our pizza to take home, never offered us a dessert menu and she was just not hip to being a waitress. Super friendly but she missed out on more money. My wife definitely wanted another glass of wine and I would have definitely bought dessert. This place would be a 5 if our waitress didn't suck. On a recommendation from my daughter, we came to La Figata one mid-afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner. Despite us being about the only people in the restaurant, we were greeted warmly and seated at a window table. The décor is very upscale, with hung lights everywhere, masking a high ceiling. There is a huge dining facility in the back for overflow and catering. The bar is comfortable and well-equipped. The bartender turned into our waitress during this lull period, which was fine with us. We ordered apps and main courses. I had fried calamari with cherry peppers, which was completely fresh and tasty, and accompanied with a tomato dipping sauce and lemon garlic aioli, which really brought out the flavor. My wife's Caesar salad had just the right amount of dressing, and was garnished with fresh anchovies! Our entrees - Pasta Bolognese and Chicken Marsala - requested off menu - could not have been made better. My pasta was cooked perfectly; the Bolognese sauce was complimented well with a dollop of fresh ricotta. My wife's Marsala with accompanying rabe was a delight to see and taste. With the staff changeover in one of our long-time favorite Italian restaurants, we are looking for different possibilities. Although the price is a few dollars more, everything we experienced suggests you get what you pay for. I would love to see how the full staff works during the rush, but the kitchen has obviously got their stuff together. We'll be back with the family for sure! read more

Ordered drinks and a brick oven clams,drinks 20 minutes,dinner and the appetizer arrived about the same time as the drinks. Not the way you want food appetizer and drinks to be thrown at ya. My daughter had The Chilean Sea Bass and asked me to taste it. Tasted like it was not fresh no seasoning could have masked the taste My wife had chicken parm tasted like rubber with sauce. Feeling very hungry, I asked the waitress if the linguini and clams was a "big portion"? She said "yes," indicating it came in a large bowl. Well, when the dish came, I couldn't have been more disappointed. If it had 2 - 3 of pasta, I'd be surprise, and it contained only 6 - 7 clams - a few of which were empty. There were no chopped clams on the top, only a few pieces of tomato (what're tomato pieces doing atop linguine and white clam sauce anyhow?). Th dish didn't even make a poor appetizer. As with the sister restaurants in this group, we were excited to try La Figata based on previous experiences. We we're not disappointed to say the least. At first approach, it looks like any store front in a strip mall. The signage also makes it look a lot smaller on the outside due to the placement over just the left side. Almost has the appearance of two different establishments until you walk through the front door. Immediately upon entering, I was greeted by a blond host/manager at the stand. She made eye contact and smiled, which I find rare at a lot of places. Told her I needed a table for 3 without a reservation. She said, "no problem, let me know when you are ready." I arrived slightly early and decided to have a glass of wine at the bar. Super friendly and prompt service from the bartender and she actually wanted to talk, which is such a nice change lately. Many bartenders serve you and go back to looking at their iPhone (then again guests are equally, if not more, guilty of this). Settled the tab and moved to our table towards the rear of the restaurant. It looks like a separate room that can be closed off when not in use or used as a function space. We are greeted minutes later by our sever, who was cheerful and upbeat. She offers to get some drinks and one orders a beer, the other two order a bottle of pinot grigio that was the same as the glass I had at the bar. The server states that they don't sell the wines by the glass in full bottles. Odd, but no problem, I'll choose another. She hands me the wine list, only for me to find the exact wine I ordered available by the bottle. "Oh, I didn't know we did that" was her response. Cute, but may have proven that she was new. She returns with the beer and bottle of wine a few minutes later and we have decided on our entrees. She proceeds to open the bottle of wine by placing it on the table, attempting to use a server's wine key (opener) with horrible failure. Nervously fumbling to remove the foil, she says, "I'm very new and haven't opened much wine yet." Again, no big deal and sort of cute in some way. My only suggestion to management for this one is: when hiring new (green, never before waited tables) staff, training is key. Have them open the bar wines by the glass to practice. She also forgot to bring a wine chiller or bucket and we had to ask another staff member for one. Calamari and caesar starters were spot on and delicious. I had the scallops entree and the other two ordered the bolognese. All three dishes looked and tasted delicious. My scallops were cooked to perfection, not gritty/sandy and served with asparagus, mushroom risotto. The three beef bolognese is amazing! Waters were topped off frequently by a server assistant or bus person. The lighting, music and noise level were all great. Bathrooms were spotless. I would not hesitate to return to this restaurant when I am visiting family in the area. I have my eye on the ricotta gnocci for my next meal. My family loved it so much, I returned two days later to get them a gift card* so that they would make it a point to come back sooner, rather than later. What is wrong with the management at this establishment? Food and drink are fine but service is the worst we've experienced. We sat in the bar area on a Friday afternoon. Half empty. As soon as the bartender turned over, we were completely ignored. Empty water glasses, empty beer glasses, plates pushed to the end of the table for clarity that we are ready to go. All bar service people ignored us multiple times. Management needs to train staff to work together and serve all customers first, not only "their tables". First time at La Figata tonight and it was a great experience! We initially went since I was gifted a certificate. It's located in a grocery store plaza so the first impression wasn't the best. I thought it would be small and crowded from the outside but was I wrong! Inside it's spacious, modern and welcoming. And can I give the staff ALL THE PRAISE?! What an incredible team. The hostess greeted us with a big genuine smile, we were promptly seated and got some complementary water by another service staff who was also very sweet and courteous. Finally our waitress was ready to take our order, she was efficient and ready to help. Everyone seemed to work well together and although a lot of staff it didn't feel as such. As for food, we had the meatballs with polenta 10/10 and avocado bruschetta 7/10 for starters. We also had their white pizza with pancetta and mushrooms 9/10. It's a white pizza so I expected a white sauce and I didn't taste any! Maybe the other flavors overpowered it. It was still delicious especially if you like bacon-y and basil type of flavors. We also had a meat lovers type of pizza 9/10. Super tasty and their dough is perfectly thin, NY style type of dough but has good crunch. Super yummy! Oh and I must mention we where there on a Friday night and there was live music in the back of the restaurant and they were really good! When it came time to get the bill it was actually well priced. As we were leaving another sweet gal thanked us with a big smile. Its little things like that that make you want to come back to a place. Would def recommend and will def go back!
