    Birria quesadilla - Yummm!!
    Linda B.

First time trying this restaurant and we were so very impressed!! Absolutely delicious Mexican quality tasting meals! The carne asada was spot on tender and amazingly juicy! You could cut it with a fork! No knife required at all...just amazing and super flavorful! It came with sides of delicious charro beans, rice, lettuce, and guacamole. We also ordered a large guacamole that was super fresh and so amazingly delicious as was the birria quesadilla!! Everything was wonderful!! Would most definitely order from here again!!

We stopped by here on a whim to get our craving for Birria tacos satisfied. I'm glad to report they were delicious! The cheese was melty and the meat was perfectly cooked. We also orders the chimichangas with seafood which was filled with scallops and shrimp. The flavors worked really well together and I would order that dish again. Service was prompt and courteous. The flowers on the table were situated in different Tequila bottles which I thought was cute. They have a lunch special that is a bit less expensive so I would like to come back and try those options.

Now that it's under a new administration the food and the service has greatly improved. Best plate is El Jefe and the tacos. Best drink the Long Island Ice Tea and the Margarita Flights. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the Haymarket/Gainesville areas. ***Forgot to take the picture when the plate got to me***

I stopped in to La Finca for dinner one late afternoon. I ordered the Nachos with shredded chicken, an order of Enchiladas, and a side of Guacamole. The server first brought out some chips and salsa to munch on while I waited. The salsa was decent. The food came out in about 10 minutes. The Nachos were pretty good - the shredded chicken on the Nachos was tender, moist and succulent. And the Enchiladas were pretty good. I very much enjoyed the dark sauce (perhaps a Mole sauce) ladled over the Enchiladas. The Guacamole was rather uninteresting, it had almost no flavor. Service was good. Will check this place out again. The acoustics in the place are a bit weird - there was only 3 other tables of diners while I was there - but the place has this weird echoing kind of audio sound to it. #LaFincaMexicanRestaurant

My daughter, her dad and I went to La Finca on Saturday. (The sign out front says new management.) My review is a high 3. Like 3.7 stars. -We walked into a beautiful restaurant. Clean and plenty of nice decor to look at. I'd love to have one of those ceiling fans in my house. Very nice looking. The people running the place were super nice, friendly, and smiley. - We ordered chips with guacamole, salsa and queso. Each one of those were absolutely delicious. We just kept eating it and she brought out more chips. So good. Salsa had flavor. Imagine! And the Guacamole was the best I've been served. Salty and fresh. - I forgot the name of my order. Hmm. But it was tasty and good. It was chicken with green/red peppers and zucchini squash. I asked they only use a teensy bit of onions and they didn't put any on the food at all. That's great! Sometimes fajitas and similar are served with more onions than veggies so I was pleased. Beans were good. I just wish there were more of them. Chicken and veggies were good. Rice was just ok. Except for the rice, I cleared my plate. My Mexican Mule was also tasty. I make those at home now too. -kids dad got shrimp tacos. That man always gets shrimp or fish tacos when we go out. - Daughter got a taco salad. Usually she picks through it and I feel like I wasted my money but not today! She ate most all of it. - We were asked if we want dessert and sure! Why not? We ordered churros alamode and a sticky toffee cake alamode. Both were delicious. Specially with that strawberry ice cream. All of the food was good. The people were great. The business was clean. But there wasn't much "Mexican" about it. Very American. Like American, American. Also more and more, when I go out to eat, the places seem empty. People just ordering take out and complain that stuff is missing or small portions. I don't know why people don't dine in more often. We love it. Good to get out and eat. - My 3.7 stars are because I didn't feel the Mexican flair. I don't know how to explain it. Also, I want more beans. Rice could be more flavorful. But we would definitely come back. We had a great time.

I've been contemplating on writing this review because it has been great but there have been times there was improvement needed. I literally had this place rated as a 4 until my last two visits... They opened up recently for about a month and a half now and don't get me wrong..the food is really good! Drinks are good and they always have hot chips and salsa ready for you as soon as you sit down. I've ordered multiple entrees and have yet to be disappointed. As for the service, it has been hit or miss and most recently more misses. I know it has been a new opening but they should really think of the possibility of hiring another hand. My last visit I would be waiting for a while which I get is normal..but not for a slightly empty room. I had to get the attention of someone multiple times for different reasons. That's not really how I'd like to spend my dining time. Overall I'll continue to visit here and spend my money because of the convenience and good food and drinks. I want to see this place stick around but they really have to do better with the service.

Great food, great service, and great prices! This place is unassuming, cozy, and clean - so glad we came here for dinner. Our waitress was really nice and funny. We were waited on immediately - chips and salsa were set on the table right away. I got a frozen margarita and the deluxe chimichanga with pulled beef. The margarita was very good and the chimichanga was covered in a delicious cheese sauce. The cheese sauce was thin but very flavorful. The meal came with a side of rice, refried beans, guacamole, and sour cream. We ordered the sopaipillas for dessert - they reminded me of Cinnamon Toast Crunch :). Plenty of parking is available and patio seating is an option as well. Next time I'd love to sit on the patio on a nice day! Definitely recommend.

My wife and I enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal on a recent 'date night.' The chips and salsa and bean dip were a yummy appetizer. Our main courses -- the carnitas and the crazy chicken -- we're both well seasoned and served w/ generously portioned sides. We'll go back here again as the menu has lots of choices and we've plenty still to try.

Went there on a Monday evening. Not very crowded. Good food, good service and $6 happy hour margarita on the rocks. Will be back.

But a few things held this visit back from being a great experience. The biggest issue, and the one that cost the most stars: the noise. There's essentially no acoustic treatment in the dining room, and even at maybe 25% capacity, the sound is overwhelming. We couldn't hold a conversation without leaning in and repeating ourselves constantly. That's a real problem. It also had a direct impact on our order -- our server couldn't hear us clearly either, so a simple substitution (no beans, double rice) came out as no beans and no rice. Small thing, but avoidable. On the menu side, the descriptions need work. The patron salad lists "house dressing" with no further detail -- turns out it's quite sweet, which felt out of place on that dish. That's emblematic of the menu overall: the flavor combinations lean creative, sometimes mixing profiles that don't really belong together in a Tex Mex context. It's not bad, just occasionally confusing, and more transparency in the descriptions would help guests set expectations. Bottom line: solid kitchen, good staff, but fix the acoustics and tighten up the menu copy and this place has real potential.

They don't have any specials on tacos, everything is a la carte, and the tacos are more expensive than ever. We were greeted with attitude right from the start by the waitress who ended up taking our drink order and then never came back. Another young waitress eventually took our food order, but she forgot part of it and also didn't check on us afterward. A third server finally stepped in and helped bring the rest of our food, and she was much nicer and more attentive, but still, no one came back to follow up or offer refills. I even had to go find our original waitress just to ask for the check. The food itself was actually really good, fresh, flavorful, and nicely presented, which makes the poor service even more disappointing. I'd like to give it another try someday because the food has potential, but I really hope the service improves (or that we can choose our server next time!).

The server was very nice and allowed me to do a la carte on the tacos and get 3 kinds. These fell flat as the tortillas were rubbery and didn't taste fresh. The meat flavor needed love.
