I'm not a great fan of this place. This gym is always overly hot and the AC unit is usually barely running. In addition to this, There's a really awful glare from the skylights from above that just hits you when you're on the treadmills or ellipticals. You can never find cleaning supplies for wiping down the equipment. Therefore you get to sit in disgusting stale sweat that's been warmed up under the Texas sunlight. But the patrons & regulars of this place is nice so that's a plus? read more

Front desk is always very helpful. Cleanest gym in town. They stay on top of equipment issues. I have never seen anything go unresolved for more than a couple of days. They keep the equipment clean and well maintianed. read more

This Gym is a dirty nasty place. The men's bathroom is never cleaned. No paper towels. No toilet paper. Piss on the floor. Human feces on the toilet. The artificial turf they have there is always dirty and nasty. if you stretch out on the turf and want to take your shoes off to get a more comfortable stretch your socks turn black. If you have white sneakers and stretch out on the turf your sneakers turn black. The mats are not cleaned. Don't waste your time here. read more

The staff here is all great, and have been a member since I bought a house down the street for a couple years now. I am writing this review today though, to specifically call out the excellent service I received this week from Claire, who was working the front desk M-W. I had all sorts of issues with my app, automatic payment, and being in tech myself, it was embarrasing. She walked me through everything on site, and I was all set in 5 minutes. This was after she gave me help on Monday as well, and I just couldn't figure it out on my own. I hope she gets recognized for her excellent customer service by management. Thanks Claire! read more

I gave a 3-star rating is in consideration of the front desk friendly greeting guests; otherwise, this location should receive a 1-star rating: The pool and spas were down for over 3 weeks (this time) and in the pass the spas was on-and-off... the men locker room and showers were in needed for a scrubbing job... On January 6th my wife signed up for training at this LA fitness. It's now February 17th and she has paid for 2 months of training and has yet to have a trainer available since the three of the closest clubs have employed no standard trainers They have been telling her they are going to upgrade her to use master trainers but it has not happened. Spent $400 by second billing and no access to trainers. Her app says she has 9 sessions available that she cannot use. Matthew Mulks is the District VP and refuses to contact us directly. But local staff claims he has been working on the situation. Don't believe a word of what they say. read more

Extremely impressed with this location and the GM. ----- I don't know why there are such terrible reviews but they are not true. As someone who is actually from LA, I have to say LA Fitness Josie Carrollton truly is phenomenal. I've been to quite a few locations across the states and this location is definitely tying (with the Santa Monica location) for my top favorite gym, which is saying something. The GM Christian was extremely helpful, friendly, and set the vibe of the gym. All patrons were kind and used equipment efficiently. Many were happy to share machines between sets. The Zumba class was spicy and enjoyable. The Zumba room itself has a stage and the gym is aesthetically pleasing. Biking room is large and full of mirrors. Pool is clean and has 3 lanes which were empty when I dropped by in the evening. Entire gym was clean (no musty smell, great temperature, cleaning personnel working hard). They have the tire and grass set up. Plenty of cardio machines and they had all the free weights and machines necessary for an excellent workout. There is amble parking, as well. Was missing the boxing bags but there are boxing bags at other locations so need to pack gym bag accordingly. Will definitely be back as it was a fantastic location. read more

I signed up for this gym a few months ago. At one point I got a new debit card number and they called, emailed, and harassed me about the payment at all hours of the day and night. Then this month instead of charging me my normal $69 they charged the $69 AND a charge for $102 for a total of $171. Eventually the extra charges dropped off my account as they were "holds" but I'm not sure why they needed to hold that money. Today, a Saturday, I called them to cancel my membership. The girl who answered the phone told me that I'd have to go in M-F from 9am-5pm to speak with their operations manager to cancel. Meanwhile I didn't have to talk to someone special to sign up. She further told me that their operations manager had left the company recently and they aren't sure when a new one will be there. I asked if I could go to a different LA Fitness that has an operations manager and I was told no. I asked to make an appointment with someone who could cancel my membership and I was told no, it doesn't work that way. I looked at their website while on the phone and it said I could print, fill out and mail a document (via certified mail) to California and cancel that way. I asked the girl on the phone about that method and she said that it usually doesn't work and takes months to cancel the membership. So, long story short they make it very easy for you to sign up and give them your money, and VERY difficult for you to leave. read more

My 19 year-old is looking for a new gym and got a 3 day free trial. Today (day 2) he was BULLIED by some 50-60 year-old, male manager who tried to get my son to give him his Driver's License number AND credit card number. My son declined saying he wanted to take all 3 days to decide. But the Manager pressed-on with the hard sell and lectured my son (even telling him that "Nothing in life is free") so much that my son just left without working out. He said he didn't want to be where he wasn't welcomed. This makes my blood boil. That old, washed-up bully should be fired. LA Fitness will never get my or my family's money. read more

Been going here since august and I've really seen this gym decline. I had high hopes for this gym when it was first open and thought it would be a calm, clean gym. The gym has undergone many new members just like any commercial gym, and has grown drastically, nothing wrong with that alot of new faces people trying to better them selfs but this is a really small gym. There are only 3 squat racks and hardly any benches for free weights. If you come during peak time you have a 80% chance of waiting for a rack. Once you eventually have a rack you have multiple people rushing you to use it next. I wish the gym would grow with its community and add new equipment. Compared to other new LA fitnesses this is below LA fitness standards, especially since membership are starting at $35 a month. A lot of the equipment is broken or Teared up. Employees are either hit or miss, some of them are nice and respectful to you and other are desperate for sales and would do anything, I have came here many times with friends that have membership and the sales associate ask us if we are interested in memberships. I assume they think were using guest passes or day passes but that is not the case. When i first started going to this gym it would be more of a cleaner environment, but since mid February, I haven't seen a single cleaner. Personally I try to keep the gym clean but you cant keep other from making a mess. Every single time I've been here there have been leaks from the roof overstock trash piles and extremely dirty floors. Not to mention that bar with blood on it. That is extremely unsanitary. This review is all about cleanliness. Every time I come here I see a staff member cleaning. That is dusty or disinfecting surfaces, or cleaning g floors. The equipment is well oiled and maintained. Just like at many gyms there are people who hog machines and use them to rest and play on their phones. read more

It's a very nice, very clean little gym. My biggest problem is that the facility is small in comparison to other LA Fitnesses, but they do a great job at keeping the place very clean and I hope it stays that way! Nice updated gym. However, management and customer service is extremely lacking. Management is not friendly and could not care less about the customers. And beware if you want to bring a guest. I sent a friend of mine a 7-day guest pass which says "is valid at any gym". I drove to this particular location with my friend :because we were going to be in that area anyway and it was the most convenient location). The manager would NOT approve his pass. He tried to argue that this gym was not in the same territory as the one I joined at and accused me of "forgetting which gym I joined at". Trust me, I know which gym I joined at and even have the contract stating the location. But I didn't have the contract with me and it became obvious that he didn't care if my guest visited this or any other gym to perhaps tour and sign up for an LA membership! As if this is not bad enough, when I asked for his name, he lied and gave me a bogus manager's name (I was to find out later when no one heard of his bogus name at other LA Fitness gyms). So we drove to another gym who was glad to have us both. I highly recommend finding another (ANY other) gym but this one! read more

Mimi is a yoga instructor at this location. I have practiced with Mimi for nearly four years and have followed her to this location. There are other locations and yoga studios closer to me, but I travel the extra distance to practice with her. Mimi has exceptional skill and knowledge of yoga and creates a class that will support every participant from the beginner to advanced. She is a gentle spirit and gently encourages everyone in class. Proper technique, placement is emphasized to allow the student to advance as they are physically able to do so. I cannot recommend Mimi enough. read more

BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR ANY TRAINING SESSIONS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ!!!!!! My mom started working out here as part of her Silver Sneakers deal. At first, and still now, both she and I love the actual facility it's self as it's beautiful and clean. The staff, specifically the personal training manager, Dru, and the Operations Manager, Lindsey are the reason I 100% would not recommend this facility to anyone. Within 1 day of trying the gym out & working out the training manager, Dru, manipulated my disabled mother into a training contract that cost over $4,000. He waited until I was not around, and could not help my mom to see the contract, or even discuss the terms, details, etc and pressured her to signing up for sessions, because he knew what he was doing and "preyed" on her, because she is older & disabled. He withheld the total amount from and "sold" her something that she truly had no idea or understand about much less the cost, which is BEYOND A RIP OFF. Once she signed the contract, he never sent her a copy of the agreement or any of the terms. He took advantage of her to make commission and didn't allow her anytime to look over the contract, think about it, or anything. DO NOT sign up for anything in regards to training sessions!!!!!!!!!! I am super disappointed and upset with this situation. I get people and businesses need to make $ but the way this was done is not okay, and disgusting. I truly hope this does not happen to anyone else. When I spoke with the Operations Manager, she was able to help a little, but once returning from the locker room, I overheard her mocking the situation and laughing and smiling about it. Poor quality, and unacceptable. While I could say so much more about this situation I write this post as a simple warning, that DRU, himself, unprofessional and I would never hire him to work any facility, a polished con artist, who wants to make a $ he would take advantage of a disabled woman. Perhaps LA FITNESS should re-evaluate their hiring standards, staff management, and customer service practices. read more
