This LA Fitness is Conyers is poorly managed and maintained. When things are broken, it takes forever to repair. Currently sauna has been broken for more than a week. Mgmt said last week repairs would be completed 4 days ago. Sauna still closed and not repaired. Too many broken lockers , and it's been like that for years. Cleanliness is another issue. As a long-time member of LA Fitness, I have been coming here for years and have noticed a significant decline in the overall friendliness and enthusiasm of the staff. However, since Chase joined the team a few months ago, I have seen a positive difference in the atmosphere at the gym. Chase consistently greets members with a warm smile and goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcome. It's disappointing that she seems to be the only staff member who truly cares about creating a positive environment for the members. I'm sure any consistent member would agree that Chase's dedication and exceptional customer service skills deserve recognition, and she should be promoted to a role where she can train and mentor others to provide the same level of service she does. I like all the things la fitness has to offer. I especially love the sauna. I just wish there was a bit more space where all the machines are. I feel so claustrophobic trying to weight train. That's why I usually just go to the open room so I can be alone. This la fitness is almost always packed. Equipment is rusty and needs repair or replacing. Staff is not knowledgeable on too much of anything. I called to inquire about a 7 day free pass (I'm only in town for a couple days) guy at the desk tells me to come on in and he'd take care of me. I get to the gym and now I have to pay $20 per day.I was willing to pay because I needed to workout. A nice-ish lady waived the charge because their software was running slow to get me registered. Although it should have been for the staff misinforming me. Ok fine, I'll take it. Thanks. That was great but it's not enough for me to give a higher rating because the facility is so run down. Its also not clean. It's depressing. Can someone tell me why there is carpet in the gym?? Also, a lot of members take the sanitation spray bottles from their stations and they keep them until they are done working out. Many people did not have any bottles because of this and just left the machines a sweaty mess. I've never seen this before. Shirts and sweat rags left on machines abandoned...all the while I was there for two hours (too long) and not one staff member picked up a tissue off the floor, wiped down a machine, vacuumed the dirty carpet, nothing. If you are ever in the C-town area visiting (don't know why unless your visiting fam like me) thinking 'oh wow a LA Fitness let me check it out or utilize my membership at this location' please do not waste your time. Tracks of dirty water throughout the gym, urine on floor, fecal particles on toilet seats, toilet tissue or paper towels on floor, possible drainage issues, etc. Only reason I attend this location because the commute is convenient. I was trying to know more about the plans but i told them that i just wanted to have info because i live far away, i even asked the lady if she could give me a piece of paper where i can write down the prices and all of that, she told me to go to the website. I just moved to Georgia back in January. I always just browsing around checking out new gyms that i could go too. I went in to ask for a tour, The bathrooms weren't clean at all. None of the toilets were cleaned. Even the towel you use had like dirt on them. When I came out the bathroom to meet with the lady that was giving me the tour she literally wasn't there to guide me at all. She didn't stay near or outside the bathroom for me to see the rest of the gym. Then i walked out. I really don't reccomend going to LA Fitness. La Fitness in Conyers Georgia off of Highway 138 is unbearable especially when the sauna is consistently nonfunctional, which seems to be monthly for at least a week or two at a time. Yet, members are charged full membership fees without full access to all the amenities. Members are frustrated because we keep addressing this issue frequently and some of the employees want to go word for word with members about the sauna not functioning consistently at a higher rate. "That's a corporate issue, call corporate, it's not my fault or don't talk to me like I can do anything about it type conversation." La Fitness is becoming professional in name and fees only!!! This location could be great but the staff is lazy and it shows. It seems like they're just waiting for the hrs to go by to receive a pay check. They push the prices on you when you ask about plans etc.. and when you ask for more info, they get pushy and can't explain what the plans offer. The amenities are nice but the set up is too tight. I hesitated to come to this location during a pandemic; they can't even keep the place clean on a regular day. I just knew my weights were going to be in the same place I dropped them when everything closed in February. Not a single employee wearing masks (all congregating at the front desk though), random temperature checks of your WRIST, fully packed gym with no distancing of machines. And of course, the locker room is still gross. The smell of urine hits you like a brick before you even step inside it, and true to form there is still no soap or paper towels. I got tossed around between three different associates the moment I walked in, so I told the last associate "never mind" then proceeded to walk out. I walked in to the facility a couple of weeks ago just to be greeted by a lady who was helping two other people. She then asked the young man sitting next to her with his airpod in his ear, to assist me. The young man asked me for the name of the person I scheduled a tour of the gym with, and I told him I forgot the name, and asked if he could help me. He then pointed to the next person that walked up to the reception desk. This person asked me the same question and I told him the same thing, that I forgot the person's name. He then point me back to the young man I was speaking to, seconds before. In the end, I received no help whatsoever so I will continue going to Planet Fitness. This location is probably the worst LA Fitness I've ever been to. They are rude and unprofessional and flat out don't pay attention on the job. My sibling who is a member as well has been calling multiple times to get trained from the trainers in this location , and every time she sets up an appointment and shows up, no one greets her and the trainer she schedules an appointment with isn't available at the time they agreed. I like this location. I work close so I generally go at lunch everyday. Staff is nice, never really as crowded like the Stone Mtn or Lavista location. Machines function well not many out of order. I have been with LA fitness for a couple years now, but just recently started coming to this location. This is one of the best I've visited! It is kept very clean and the staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. My Mom and I recently became interested in their personal training and met with The PT Director, Kianté Tripp. He gave a us a very thorough and informative consultation that made us excited and ready for the process. We signed up immediately! We began our personal training sessions the day after. They make it super easy to set up appointments with an app and to keep track of our progress with personalized booklets. So far, our trainer Dee has been amazing as well! Everyone is so nice and seems to be truly invested in our exercise regimen, nutrition, and overall health! read more

Great location and staff but gym could definitely use maintenance and updating. Swimming pool needs work. The pool edges have badly stained/rusted tiles. The pool area too is in disrepair .... ceiling is peeling and about to fall on swimmers. The staff seems to struggle to keep the pool water clear/clean .... always has a film and is cloudy. My significant other and I both had our physical assessment with one of their personal trainers Sharon. She is extremely knowledgeable and patient. She takes into consideration your personal goals and any health issues so that you're safely getting the most out of your workout. I'm one to go in the gym and try to work it out myself. But after working with Sharon we both realized the benefits that come from working with a trainer. Been apart of LA fitness for almost two years now. Been struggling with motivation and intensity. But I recently started working out with Savonte as my personal trainer!!! My legssssss I feel like I'm getting the best possible workout for the best value ever. I've worked with different trainers, tried workin out by self and even with Friends. But I've never been able to work up a proper sweat with Savonte. Super sweet, super smart, really funny but he will work you till you wanna cry. My muscles are depressed but I feel better than ever! I've been to plenty of other LA Fitness gyms before. I have been a member for a few months now. Recently I have needed a spotter for one particular exercise in the free weight section. This gym is good for the most part. However I strongly suggest to NOT go at night. Out of the last four times I have been there, two were at night, and both of those nights the customer service was really horrible! Day 1 (during day) Fri : Sep 19 Being a female and new to free weight lifting, I went to the front desk and sitting near is Khaliq. I asked him if he could spot me for one exercise (bench press, which would of been only 5 sets anyways), Khaliq said sure. Day 2 (at night) Mon Sep 22: I go to the front desk for the same thing. There is a different person there. His response was "That's not my job" then literally turns his head toward his friend who is sitting in the "employee desk section" and says, "Hey so and so, you want to spot her?" To my memory this guy did not have a LA Fitness shirt on and I remember him from the free weight section earlier that night...at this point I told him never mind and walked off. "That's not my job" "Hey (name) do you WANT to spot her?" SMH! He needs to retake a course in customer service 101..! Day 3 (at night) Wed Sept 24: The next time I go to the gym, is at night as well. I got the store hours mixed up and thought LA Fitness was due to close at 12am. At 10:45p or so an employee comes up to me as I am finishing a set and tells me the store is closing. At first I am thinking it closes at 12am, so I tell him I'll be another 30 minutes. His response is "I want to/I'm trying to go home"... and after he clarifies to me that they actually close at 11, his next response was "I really have to get to my second job". I told him I would be 10 more minutes. He left me in the gym alone (I was the only person inside) and went outside to continue talking to the group of about 4 that he had been talking to inside the gym the entire time I had been working out. I know this because I was going to ask for a spotter and walked toward the desk but didn't feel comfortable walking to the group of people, so I turned around and continued my work out (and I figured why just stand here waiting for someone to notice you?). When I left the gym at 11, looked in to my rear view mirror as i approached the first traffic light out out of the lot, I saw that he just stood there talking the entire time. Because I thought he had to be somewhere?? This entire experience could of been handled differently..I was a customer who thought the gym was to close at 12, but instead of reacting professional and educating me and asking politely, he came off as rude and as if he did not care. Day 4 (day time) Sat Sept 27: After the last two experiences I go back to the gym, again. Again, I need a spotter. I go to the front and I see Khaliq. I ask him if he minds spotting me, and his response was sure. I tell him that I used to work for LA Fitness and I have quite a bit of customer service background myself, and I know this is not a part of your job description. Needless to say I thoroughly appreciate him spotting me for just one exercise. OVERALL IMPRESSION AND INPUT: As a customer you want to feel like the staff is there to support you , help you and educate you, not shoo you off or be rushed out. As a customer I expect staff members to go above and beyond, like Khaliq. If your job is at the front desk, and not a trainer at all, you should be able to at least handle small requests like spotting a female or male because this is a gym. All of us members have signed away our rights to sue anyone for any injuries, and I am not looking for a trainer (because I'd pay for it if I needed a trainer). Lastly, if you are to be at the gym alone then as an employee you should be able to handle more than just checking in people at the desk. If a staff member cannot spot someone, they should have a professional response. If a staff member needs a customer to leave because they are closing, do not lie to the customer as to why, do not share your personal reasons (for most cases) to convince the customer they need to go like, now!, and if you are to linger in the gym with your friends as people are working out, be on your P's and Q's and pay attention to those using the gym, seriously, cause then someone like me doesn't want to walk up to you all but needs attention from the staff member. FINAL THOUGHT: I was extremely unpleased with how both of these men communicate and each of their decision-making skills. Khaliq is really the first and only person who has made a positive impression AND have some kind of rapport with. My experience with him has been extremely professional. My day work outs overall are in more correlation to what I think LA Fitness strives to demonstrate between its staff and customers. read more

Just had my booty kicked by trainer named Lindsey. Ok, so I can be socially awkward because I'm kind of nerdy and typical grunge chick and a foodie. And I like to talk while I exercise. Kiante Tripp scheduled me with Lindsey and we totally clicked. She is a talker, too. And she made me feel comfortable while giving me the type of motivation that works for me. I really enjoyed my session and can't wait for my next session. Thank you so much Tripp for putting me with her. Thank you so much, Lindsey, for making me wanna move my ass. People, if you live in this area and want to join a gym, this is the place to go. I've been to other gyms like Planet Fitness and Anytime Fitness and did not feel as well cared for as I do here. I am really thinking about finding a new gym. It seems like no matter which location you go to everyone employed is unhappy and rude. I had to cancel the kids Klub portion of my membership because the workers sit behind the desk and don't do anything with the kids at all. This morning I came to this location and said good morning to the little girl at the front desk and she looked at me like I cussed her out. It's just annoying to pay for something and be treated like crap when you come.
