I've been coming to LA Fitness for a year & i love it! Out of all the La Fitnesses in the area, the Fishers one appears the oldest but I really love that it's such an easy going atmosphere! I've never been a huge gym person, but there's something here that I don't feel intimidated working out. There's people of all shapes, sizes, ages & skill levels trying to get better for their health! There's two levels at the Fishers location: cardio on top & weights on ground level. I originally joined just for Zumba but unfortunately I do not like the instructor here who has the most classes. But the perk of an LA membership is that you can go to any location, so I take advantage of that! The membership staff when I first started was pushy & didn't follow through with anything. But it seems they've had a complete staff overhaul which is awesome! Front desk people are chill (which I prefer!) & the cleaning staff is there everyday. The only downsides is that the hot tub is usually sandy & has dirt in it, and most recently the whole facility smells like vinegar (for cleaning purposes, but it's not a pleasant smell first thing in the morning). Another perk is that is really easy to bring guests! I've been to a handful of gyms in the area & this is my preferred :) read more

I have been a member at LA Fitness in Fishers for several years. With their recent upgrades I feel like this gym is the best in central Indiana. I travel for meetings and often use local gyms ranging from Miami to LA. From my perspective LA Fitness in Fishers is one of the best I have used even compared to numerous other cities in the country. read more

I came here to sign up for a week due to traveling to the area for work. I didn't want to use my hotel gym and this gym was the closest to my hotel. I signed up for a three day pass. I don't live in the area and I went back home after a week. Not only did the sales rep sign me up for a monthly membership without my consent but I was also charged a yearly fee in December. I called the gym sales rep who signed me up and told me he took care of it (I can't remember his name but it starts with an "R"). I gave it a month for the monthly and yearly charge to come back to my account but it never did. I ended up disputing the charges on my credit card and got my money back. Now I get a call from their billing department saying that my card was declined for the monthly membership fine. Turns out the sales rep still didn't cancel my membership and was charged again for January. The billing department rep Melissa said I needed to pay 29.99 to cancel right now or go to the nearest LA Fitness, which is three hours away from me. I told her I'm not paying for something I never signed up for and have called to cancel already. She gave me an email and insisted I cannot cancel right now over the phone. Love how I need to cancel something I never signed up for in the first place. If you are traveling to the area DO NOT go here. Just stick to your hotel gym and suck it up for the week. read more

It's unfortunate that the Fisher's location decided to replace all of the machines that some of us have used for years and really liked them. Have tried some of the new machines and in my opinion they are not as effective as some of the older machines. Am now driving 3 times as far to a different location that still has the older machines so I can get a good workout. it's a shame they didn't leave at least some of the older machines. If you preference is free weights several more options were added in the gymnasium area. read more

They finally made improvements to the treadmills, so I'll increase to 2 stars. The sauna bench in the girl's locker room has been broken for over a year. It's comical that the sauna was closed a few months ago for "maintenance" yet the bench is still broken. How challenging is it to repair a wooden bench? It's an accident waiting to happen. Not even the fault of the employees of this location - I think the employees are great. It's that the corporation CLEARLY cares more about collecting that check rather than their patrons' safety. read more

If you look up the ceiling, you might wonder about the indoor air quality. I like the location, staff, service, and etc. Equipment is not bad and programs are pretty good too I think. Only thing that bothers me is the indoor air quality. If you look closely at the picture or whenever you go here, look up the ceiling and notice the black dust all over the air vent. This LA Fitness is barely a gym at this point. With over HALF of the treadmill machines not working, the value of your monthly membership drastically decreases. It seems every time I come to this gym, a new piece or equipment is down or broken. To make matters worse; the team here doesn't even label these non-functional machines anymore. That's how much of a norm it is at 116th. Also, the cleanliness in the locker rooms is a joke. The same broken facilities continue to be unaddressed. This location needs a reset ASAP. Do not recommend coming here if you have any other options. read more

Enough is enough. I've been a member with LA for 10+ years. This particular location is unbelievable tragic. I've held my tongue because I've always loved working out at these clubs. The bathrooms are FUCKING disgusting. Never once I've I witnessed in half way decent shape. Easy enough to ignore. However, now that the equipment is out dated it seems that every day I walk in and there is a new machine broken. Most of the time with no notation leaving lifters vulnerable to injuries. This club is poorly ran. End of discussion. Because of the lack of attention to detail there are far better options for much cheaper. Very tragic for a place I once loved so much. read more

Descent gym, other than the mostly very unfriendly front desk staff. Most of the trainers are friendly however, and polite when working with clients or training alone. The cardio equipment is dated and is dire need of being updated. The gym equipment is nice, and hardly ever inoperable. And unlike most gym, MOST of the members here have enough courtesy/common sense to re-rack their weights and not train right in front of the dumbbell mirrors. Overall the facility could be cleaner and the general staff much nicer. Update: moldy ceiling tiles and a overflowing sewage in the men's restroom which happens here every couple of months. This facility is a complete dump. read more

This is really your basic LA Fitness. Cardio. Weights. Pool. Racket ball courts and a group fitness. I like the style of ellipticals they have and occasionally might use the indoor pool. I don't really have much interaction with staff but they seem friendly enough. Sometimes there are lots of machines with out of service signs, usually on treadmills. My biggest complaints are the weekend hours are much shorter and this location is always extremely crowded. Working out in a crowded gym is not my favorite. read more

They've updated the main bottom floor... sort of, but still in need of updated equipment and MAAAN... the locker rooms are GROSS. Heaven forbid you have to potty! There is ALWAYS 2/4 stalls clogged and the other two are either splattered with feces or just overall gross. It gives, nasty bathroom on the side of a random dirt road vibes. Pros: -Fantastic staff. Special recognition for GM Kimberly and the gentleman that manages PT (Cody). The team as a whole is friendly, helpful, professional. -Convenient location (at least for me). Close to the freeway, nearby shopping and eats for a post-workout reload. -Variety of equipment, overall layout is great. -If you're a baller, there is almost always a full-court run taking place (which can't be said at several of the other LAF's in the area). Solid competition. -Good overall vibe. Friendly members. I don't know about you, but I tend to struggle with energy when I'm working out in a half-empty gym that is quieter than a library. This is my favorite gym. This is my home away from home. Great place to get a good workout in. They are open on most holidays and stay open until 11 on weekdays. They are very clean as far keeping the locker rooms and such clean throughout the day. Sometimes the bathrooms aren't as clean as you want them but it's always room for improvement. Nice size pool and sauna as well. Cardio machines are upstairs except for the stair masters which are ironically downstairs lol. read more

This place has just about everything you could ever ask for in a gym. Pool, racket ball, daycare for your kids, cardio, free weights, weight machines, saunas jacuzzis. Spin classes, yoga, and a bunch of other classes! The staff are very friendly, not the condescending type you get a lot of places. The personal trainers work with you were your fitness lvl is to reach your goals. They are awesome. Once you make it through the memberships sales team, haha you will be on your way to a better body and lifestyle and this place offers everything you need! Not to mention the packages are very affordable. I've notice some other reviews regarding cleanliness and from what I've observed they are on top of it. There are still a lot of issues with paper towels, soap, and overall cleanliness of this gym. Not sure what happened to the mirrors near the squat racks but they have been missing for two weeks. The orange tacky adhesive left behind is a huge eye sore especially when your trying to focus on getting a good workout. The personal training area is in an awkward location. I rarely see trainers utilizing that space. It just seems like it would make more sense to move that area into a more private location. It's currently next to the locker rooms and a hodgepodge of cardio equipment available to everyone. I could see one of the three unused racquetball rooms becoming a private area for trainers and their clients .... a possible option? At the very least move the random cardio equipment upstairs with the rest of the equipment and rope that whole area off. The space at least would make more sense. The only few good reasons keeping me here are the affordable membership rates for both me and my husband along with several wonderful butt kicking instructors. If I could find another gym with comparable rates I would cancel our membership. read more

Wow, I was amazed that this place was crowded for a Sat. around lunch time - esp. upstairs with the elliptical machines, bikes, treadmills, and TVs. A few things I noticed how this gym is different from others: - Their bikes have fan that you can set to blow on you. - They have row machines. That's right! It prepares you to go on a row boat. - Concept 2 machine has games you can play while working out; I tried the fish game. They have the opportunity for workout classes, racquetball, basketball, and indoor swimming. Weight equipment is downstairs. Had mats to stretch upon. There is a kids zone for childcare. I was a guest, and they gave me a complimentary 3-day pass. read more

Let me start by saying that I could potentially give this gym a good score. In fact, I wish I could. It's a nice gym. The staff is very nice. The people that work out here are cool and polite. When I exercise, I lift weights and I use the treadmill. I like LA Fitness' weight room; it gets a little crowded, but not too bad. The reason I give this location a 2 is their cardio area. WAY TOO SMALL! It's always crowded and there aren't enough treadmills. (And the last time I went here, out of the few treadmills they had, two of them were out of service! ) Buy more treadmills and this would be a great place to work out. AWFUL BUSINESS! !!!! I already didn't like it there just by the vibes of the gym. The workers there are so rude and will waste your time! You cannot cancel over the phone or online. They Wouldn't let me cancel my membership after telling me on the phone to just come in and it "will take 5 minutes to cancel ". I show up in person to cancel said membership and when the man at the front asked for the reason I said "switching to Crunch fitness" and that's when a lady behind him chimes in and says to me "are you the one paying for the membership?" I said my name and my husband's is on the account and she told me I couldn't cancel because I'm not the one paying for it. EXCUSE ME. So even though I signed the contract , I'm married and share the account , but I'm not the one who's card is on file (even though it's linked to the same bank) she refused to let me cancel my membership. My husband ultimately came in to cancel and asked to speak with Esther and she told him she was about to go into a meeting and it will be 20 minutes but not to worry the membership was cancelled. So they cancelled it anyway before he officially even told them to ??? Make it make sense. It seems that they are really struggling with the new Crunch opening up and they need to meet a certain quota, so Esther made us jump through hoops. My husband asked to speak to the manager over Esther being very rude and unprofessional and Esther gave us a number that , when my husband called - it was HER! I highly recommend the trainer Kyle Sanders, he really helped me achieve my goals by a variety of intense workout routines and A LOT of necessary information. If you're looking to get in shape and have a good experience with a trainer, for sure check him out. read more

I try to stay away from bad review of businesses but this one is well over due. My main complaint is the customer service. The trainers are straight rude with no personality. Out of that whole staff there's maybe 3 people who will speak to the members. I literally gave one of the sales persons 15 people's names and number to call for possible new memberships, and she hasn't spoke to me since. I'm not sure if they are overworked or underpaid but a simple hello goes a long way. Sadly this gym used to be nice. Hopefully management reads this. Filthy locker room and mold in showers. Soap dispensers often broken and bring your own paper towels because the staff is too busy talking to notice almost all dispensers are empty frequently so you cant wipe down the machines. This location has historically had problems. Hamilton County Board of Health tells me they have had many complaints about this location and make frequent visits, but corrections dont last long and the complaints start again read more

Once I cancelled my membership I spent 5 months trying to reach the personal trainers to cancel my membership. They ignored my calls then told me to come in person but were never there when I went in. Now they refuse to return my money and tell me I should have come in sooner. This gym is convenient and close to home which is a big factor when it comes to getting my butt out of the house in the winter. I wasn't too happy about their sales manager when I went to go sign up when I told him I saw a slightly different sign up offer online. He instantly dropped the perky sales act and said "you should just go with the online deal then." There was no effort on wanting to get me signed up right there and then or even at all and I walked away feeling if maybe I should look around some more. Ultimately I decided to stick with LA and signed up online (so I didn't have to deal with mr salesman of the year again). I'm glad LA at least offers the option to sign up online as most gyms make you come in so they can do their song and dance. The facility and equipment here are not the cleanest so make sure you bring sanitizer and wipes. This place also smells like a boys high school locker room. I have no idea why they haven't figured out a better way to ventilate the building. In spite of the many things LA could improve on, you can't really beat the price and accessibility. I'm a big fan of group fitness classes so I mostly take advantage of that as there are several to choose from at times that are usually convenient for me. read more

I have been a member of LA Fitness for a little more than a month and have been very happy with my membership. I joined LA Fitness because of all the group classes that are offered and have been extremely happy with all of the classes I have been to. I highly suggest Kickboxing, Zumba, and Body Works. My only complaint is that the instructors often run late. read more

The staff are very pleasant and it is a generally clean facility. Family member who uses the weights is impressed with the selection. The pool is in a sunny location, but unfortunately there are no rules on use, so you will see people in street clothes, long sleeved shirts, athletic shorts in there and a number of people using noodles so that, with only three lanes, you are better off elsewhere if you want a serious swimming workout. I wish they would tighten up such as having lane signups, so that swimmers who want to do laps could do so more predictably. read more

Worst experience ever!! I had a contract with LA FITNESS for training sessions that expired on November 27th 2019. As I lost my contract I went to the facility in Noblesville to ask when was my last payment due and if I had to do anything else to cancel my contract. The person who talked to me (Alejandro) told me that I had nothing to do, once my contract was up I was not going to be charged anything else. I asked him, do I have to cancel my contract so I don't go on a month to month basis? he said to me "no, you don't have to, once your contract is up, then you are done". Trusting to his words I didn't do anything else and what it is my surprised that on December 27th I see that they withdrew $420.00 from my account when they said this was not going to happen... I went to the gym to ask about it and first of all; Alejandro said not remembering having talked to me on November but when his manager started asking him questions about it she suddenly remember what he talked about with me but still could not remember having talked to me.... (seriously?) Second, they then showed me that on my contract said that if I did not cancelled my contract then I would go on a month to month basis... Didn't I just went on November trying to avoid this???? they gave me false information, you cannot tell me read the contract because I didn't have it and that is why I went to asked them for this information.... Lets say that that was true (which is not) the month to month payment was due on the 27th, I went on the 27th and told them about it... shouldn't they have just canceled it and refund my money back? any other business does that!! While posting on facebook this story I came across other people who have gone through the same experience with LA FITNESS; it seems this is a rip-off scheme they have going on and no one puts a stop. Even if it was written on the contract; they should have given me that information on November when I went talking to them and they gave me false information. Now, they charged my account and told me like making fun of me... "you still have sessions you can use for this month"... as if I want to set foot ever again at that place! Customers cannot be rip-off this way; If I say to refund my money for a service you haven't been provided, they you refund my money, no questions asked! Obviously they didn't give me my money back and I will not go there and use my training sessions as I didn't agree on them.
