Return or not return? No choice for now, but will terminate my membership in the near future. The environment is simply too uncomfortable. Surprisingly, I give the staff full marks for trying their best. They clean often, friendly, and appear conscientious. If I did have one criticism is their lack of enforcement of dress code where some members show up in their pajamas or street clothes. Yes, it's some of these members who are ruining the experience for many others and why the one-star rating. There's a general lack of respect of personal space and consideration. I've never been to a gym where manners, etiquette and smell are as off putting as here. From the moment you walk in the first set of doors, you can smell every foul body odor imaginable. Indescribably putrid! These same members will see 15 open treadmills yet they want the one right next to you. Then their smell yet again reaches you. You're lifting weights looking in the mirror, and they will go right in front of you. You can also see some members on FaceTime speakerphone while on the equipment next to you (where 2x in the last 6 months I've had to tell these individual to be courteous as I didn't want to hear their conversation for 30 mins), or taking video of themselves via tripod, creating a section where no one can go. Always clean, updated machines, and never excessively busy. It has all you need plus an infrared sauna. I would definitely recommend trying it out. read more

Your Frisco club has been in a state of disrepair for more than a year. I attended the Plano club during this year but that club has been permanently closed. Back at Frisco now and the sauna and many of the fitness equipment is in same state of disrepair. crappy club! read more

This gym was really nice when it first opened. Maybe because it was brand new? It had the new car smell and was always clean. Honestly, I used to see employees clean the workout areas a lot more than they do now. I wish they would still do that. The floors, equipment, and bathrooms are dirty more times than they are clean when I go now. There's more equipment that needs to be serviced or benches/seats that have been too worn or ripped. They charge monthly fees, but where does the money go to? The reason I still give this location 3 stars is because of the infrared sauna. I absolutely love it. read more

This LA Fitness location is amazing. They have a pool, sauna, hot tub. But most importantly, all the equipment is clean (no rust), in good condition, and newer models. Most of the machines are Matrix brand, but they also have the Hoist brand which is easy on joints when weightlifting. read more

So the facility is nice but unfortunately my 3 star rating comes because of the members who lack consideration and common courtesy for other members and the staff. I consistently see where people just throw their used paper towels where ever in the locker room and even on the shower floors and spa. The spa always stays so foamy and the walls are gross because people think it's ok to just jump in there or the pool without rinsing off. I feel bad for the staff that have to constantly clean up after people like this. It would be nice if people would learn some manners and follow the rules, but in this day and age it will probably just get worse. read more

This place needs to be cleaned. I am a regular there and most times I see hair and dust all along the floor. I do see a sweep being run through once in a while, but that doesn't clear smaller debris and dust. They fly around and settle down in some other spot. I hate to do any floor workouts due to this. The rubberized black top section in the back is not even swept or mopped as stains of fluids are seen frequently. read more

This place charged me an annual fee of $106.59 just one month after joining! on a month to month family membership. This is on top of an initiation of $149 plus first and last months dues. They said the fee is for yearly club maintenance and that I agreed to this in the agreement! ( fine print somewhere ) I told him that I'm month to month . Doesn't matter! Do you think the salesman pointed this out to me ? NOOOO! This is why the fitness industry has a bad name . They steal your money with sleight of hand all the time with hidden charges. Joined LA fitness Mckinney about 2 weeks ago, with hopes that it was not just a typical big box money machine. Wanted to use a free weight upright bench to get in a shoulder dumbbell press. Of the only 2 utility upright benches in the facility, one had someone using it for the intended purpose of the design of the bench and the other had someone using it for her phone and bag. I kindly asked if I can use the bench. She stated she was using it, but clearly was not for exercises purposes. Dumbfounded, as I backed away and did another exercise in the meantime, 10 min later, she was still using it for he belongings. I even had another member come over to me, take off his headphones, and tell me what she was doing was totally ridiculous. I asked her again, to where she denied me, then removed her phone and bag, and sat down to begin doing arm circles, to show me she was in use of the bench... I asked management to explain gym etiquette to her when she left, instead of embarrassing her on the floor. I believe she was not just ignorant to how things typically work in fitness facilities, but this would be a passive way to let her know that her actions are not exactly encouraged. Instead, the operations manager Mitch, stated that it was first come first serve, and that I should use the Olympic Military bench press, to use dumbbells on instead. Unfortunately that is not the best solution, as the Olympic Press bench has uprights that would be in the way of the movement of dumbbells, as that is not what that unit was designed for. I have owned and operated fitness facilities for over 20 years. I joined LA fitness, as it is the closest to my home. I was a member of the Craig Ranch Fitness Club before it shut down after the pandemic. I joined LA fitness for convenience, with hopes of a good experience. Price was not the concern at all. In fact, I have memberships at 3 other clubs in the Mckinney/Allen area, but they are further away from my home. Mitch suggested I cancel my membership if I was unhappy with the way this situation went and the policy of not enforcing any kind of etiquette. Mitch said that there are probably 100 different so called rules of a club, but as the operations manager, he is not at all going to enforce them. Surprisingly to him, I agreed on the spot, to go ahead and cancel the membership. So we did, and without me even asking, he refunded me the full amount I paid to join, my deposit and assured me I will have other future charges. I guess they would rather allow members to use the equipment for hanging clothing and holding phones, than for the intended use of the equipment. This is why I love the independent gyms, and what I will from here on out, support the local club owners, vs the big box. Sometimes we have to be inconvenienced and drive a little further, to have a better experience. Should have done this in the first place. read more

Fantastic gym, state of the art for sure. Client's that go there very novice and constantly texting while sitting on equipment and not using it. That translates into negatively affecting me as I can not keep up my intensity the way I like to. The following is not the staffs fault but for sure upper managements that there is almost never any paper towel in the rest rooms. It has been this way for months, the staff catches the flack for it but someone in upper management should be either terminated or at least repremended for this continuous and on going issue. In is simply unsanitary, clearly consistent and willful negligence from upper management. Most of the staff here that greet you and take care of you are amazing and deserve a pat on the back for sure as they make up for the other issues. read more

Love the cleanliness. Tosh, the GM, refused to add my daughter on to my membership. I politely asked the front desk for a membership advisor. Tosh heard me. He eventually pried himself off a stool. As we walked to the workstations, he stood staring at me. I asked ," soooo do we sit at a pc or...." ? He just stared. The word "membership" perplexed him. I told him I would sign up at another location as I walked away. I then saw him spotting his employee on the incline press. Guess I interrupted his workout. Great facility, great staff. I enjoy every hour I spend at this facility. The machines all work as expected, the gym is clean, well lit, cool, and well maintained. Even when there are lots of people present; I still can easily get my workout completed. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Because of the large fans and efficient air-conditioning, I am very comfortable working out even in the hottest of days. Even the little safe for me to store my valuables is easy to use. I was impressed how friendly the staff was at this LA Fitness location. The general manager even came up to ontruduce himself and to thank us for signing up. My wife and I were able to sign up for less than $70 a month with access to every club in the country and we can bring a friend anytime we like. I checked with other guys in the area, but this location was very clean and only a couple of months old. read more
