This location has great glute machines and a basketball court, indoor cycling and soon Pilates studio. I'd recommend to refurbish the woman sauna room. Other than that the staff is nice. Sad LA Signature Club in coppell closed down they had a great cycling club. Six flags was nice one too, huge training field for pro athletes. read more

Pool area is filthy as is the women's shower area. Women's locker room is very clean, however. Spa in pool area sometimes doesn't function properly. Either you can't turn it on or you can't turn it off. read more

I experienced an incredibly disturbing and unsafe incident at this LA Fitness location that every woman needs to be aware of. At 5:00 AM, after my workout, I went into the women's locker room to shower. While I was completely naked and trying to use the shower, a male janitor insisted on staying inside the locker room under the guise of "cleaning." He was lingering right next to the showers where I was completely exposed. It was incredibly obvious that he did not need to be cleaning that close to the private stalls at that exact moment. I felt completely violated, terrified, and trapped.When I brought this serious safety and privacy violation to the manager, Chris, he completely dismissed my fears. Instead of taking action to protect female members, Chris showed absolutely zero empathy, did not care how I felt as a woman, and actively sided with the male employee who was clearly using "cleaning" as an excuse to watch me shower.This management team does not care about women's safety or privacy. I will never step foot in this gym again, and I strongly urge all women to avoid this location for their own safety. read more

i'm not going to embellish. I'm just gonna tell you my story. I signed up for a free introductory stretch. I requested a female because I would be more comfortable with somebody laying on me. That was a female rather than a male. They set an appointment for Saturday at two in between which I've got two text messages two emails and a phone call confirming my appointment. After the phone call, I said please don't contact me anymore about this. I'll be there at 2 PM. At 12 o'clock today, I got a call from the stretch person saying she didn't feel good and she would not be in. You can't make this up. read more

Gym is big and has a lot of stuff but it's not worth going to when they have no hot water to shower in, spa is inop cause they have no hot water and they have a female cleaning the men's locker room when we are all trying to change. Do better LA Fitness read more

This gym seems extremely unorganized. Countless number of time I show and nobody comes to open the gym. It's ridiculous. People come at a certain time that works with their schedule and to have to WAIT atleast 1-2 A MONTH WHEN THIS HAPPENS IS INSANE! Mgmt needs to do something ASAP! read more

I've been going to this gym for 9 years. It has really gone downhill lately. The men's room frequently has plumbing issues to the point where I called the McKinney Health Department to report that the men's room has raw sewage all over the floor. The urinals don't flush or are out of order altogether. The sauna is rarely hot enough to even bother with. I caught staph most likely from this gym. I've called the corporate office and they've done nothing. There are MUCH better and cleaner options for gyms in this area, and we (family of 4 members) are leaving. read more

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE....OR PANDEMIC RATHER! This place promised to open a facility near my house and on 3/3 I paid the initial $247.81. Well....in enters Cornoa so construction stops. No prob! I get it! The world has changed. In the meantime I was told by an employee they were not going to open so I called LA Fitness, asked for a refund and wished them the best. What do they do instead???? Charge me $32.45 FOR A GYM THAT IS NOT OPEN!!! And never refund my money after countless calls. I'm reporting to the Better Business Bureau and warning everyone I know. This place is a fraud and should be CLOSED DOWN immediately. They steal your money and mislead you. I HAVE NEVER BEEN IN THE DOOR OF THE FACILITY BUT THAT DOESNT STOP THEM! I enjoyed this gym. Fiancé and I went here once while on our vacation and used the weight lifting machines for Back day. The gym is large and looked fairly clean. The locker rooms are massive. The strength machines were abundant and of good quality. The only thing I didn't like was they don't sell bottled water unless their smoothie bar is open (and it's shut down on Sundays) and the back hyperextension machine was broken. read more

I called to cancel my account. I was told I could suspend my account for no charge for an indefinite period of time. My card was charged again. I called again. I was told there is always a charge. I told them to cancel the account. I was charged again. I called again. I was told the account was closed and there would be no more charges. I just received a bill in the mail from Fitness International. I have just called again and I was told there should be no charges. I requested an email for something in writing that will show I am cleared and the bill from Fitness International is not valid. Good Luck ! The McKinney LA Fitness at 75 and Eldorado is the slum of LA Fitness locations. No hot water for months. No a/c in the aerobics room for months. Class instructors are constantly out. Aerobic classes are changed to Yoga at the last minute (sometimes for 3 Yoga classes in a row with the same poor instructor). Other locations run much better. read more

I work out usually twice a day and moving to McKinney I found that there isn't too many options without driving far. LA Fitness looks great from the outside. Inside is another story. The nautilus type machines are 2 to 3 generations old. The cardio machines do not have individual TVs. To me that isn't a huge deal, but normally when this happens they have attached small headphone jacks like airplanes to each machine. Which has numbers on it and TVs that are on that number. Here they are using radio frequencies. Who carries a radio anymore? Dumbbells are organized weird and the first row of benches/seats are to close to the dumbbell rack. Hard to get the weight you need when someone is working out in front of it. Yesterday, I was there running on the upper level. I have an external temperature monitor on my shoe. It was 82 degrees. This is freaking hot with no air movement when running indoors. They do not have large fans anywhere in the gym. Never been to a gym that doesn't have ceiling fans. I weigh myself before working out to make sure I get the same amount water back into me. Having 20 oz bottle of water plus 12 ounce of after workout drink. I was still 3 pounds light. I have done half marathons in 85+ heat and I didn't lose that much water. Cleanness. It looks clean, they do not supply towels and most people do not bring their own. Don't know how many times gone to a machine covered with sweat. read more

One of the most frustrating experiences is to pay money for a service that I can not use do to employees being late opening up a location. I know stuff happens, but this is NOT the first time. This has happened several times and I have written about it and NEVER heard back. It is 5:27 am on Tuesday morning on 9/6/22 and there is a parking lot full of people and no one to open the doors. Mind you, we have all been here since 4:59 And they are supposed to open at 5:00 am. This is ridiculous this has got to change. I would LOVE to hear from someone in corporate about this ASAP! I've been a member here for years and all I will say is that it's super convenient for me and they have ton of weight machines, which I love. However, the machines are old and filthy, especially the ones upstairs. I've seen blood and other dried brown liquids on them. The music is so loud upstairs that I often hear it over my earbuds and it's mind-numbing. No frills, no juice/snack bar, and only a couple of vending machines. It's a bare bones gym and if not for all of the various weight machines downstairs I would go somewhere else. read more

I spoke to the manager? Emily and I let her know that I was switching debit cards and her staff told me that they could not update my debit card because of their system. I called several times trying to update my new card and basically they kept charging my other card and telling me that I was getting declined. I spoke to Emily and she basically told me that the "call dropped" and she tried to "call me back and it would not go through....." which I called several times. I then proceeded to give them a new card and they told me that they were going to be charging me for monthly dues and I looked at my account and they charged me double and basically charged me for a month that I did not use the gym. Instead of fixing this for me they just canceled my account. The kids club lady is also very impatient and they do not sanitize any of the gym. My son has gotten sick so many times and so have I. read more

All I see here are unsatisfactory reviews which I don't quite understand. I have trained at many gyms over many years and I feel like LA Fitness is just as good or better than the other gyms I've played in. My only complaint is that I like to wipe my machines/benches down when I'm done and there are very few areas to get the wipe down spray and paper towels. Other than that I am happy with the locker rooms cleanliness, friendliness of kids club staff and the space/organization of machines and weights provided in the gym! I've gone during rush hour and haven't had to wait for much of anything, maybe a dumbbell here Or there but in all honesty that'll happen anywhere! Oh and there's ALWAYS PARKING my last gym was a parking nightmare read more

OK, so this place is in a good location and has plenty of machines. Also has a good amount of weights. Your standard neighborhood gym. Nothing over the top great about it, but nothing overly annoying either. I mean, there are little things that bug me here. It adds up though. TVs are all set to news stations like CNN. Sometimes a few are set to ESPN, but not all. Really don't feel like watching the news when I'm working out, but hey... Not the end of the world. They did used to play Rangers games, but they don't anymore. It's extremely hot in here. It's like they set it to have the heater running even when it's hot outside. I get that people like to sweat when they work out, but it's just super frustrating to deal with. This is definitely my biggest complaint. I got a gym membership because I like to walk, but it's too hot to walk outside during the Texas heat. They don't seem to get that concept... Shouldn't be hotter inside than it is outside. When you first join, they are overly pushy about getting you to come do your free evaluation with a personal trainer. I showed up and did mine, and he wanted me to get a trainer. Obviously he did that, I get that it's their job to try and sell that. I told him I didn't have the funds right now, and he said he'd put me down to come back in a month for another complementary evaluation. Then we could go from there. I called back up there to cancel the second evaluation and spoke with someone different who said they'd go ahead and cancel it. They did not. I kept getting phone calls about coming up here to do my first evaluation. I had already done that. I told the guy who called multiple times that I wasn't interested. He finally stopped calling. OK, I guess I do have more complaints about this place than I thought. I'll still work out here though. Those things aren't turning me away, but there's nothing here that really stands out. Like I said, it's your run of the mill neighborhood gym. I will say that the staff who I actually see out and about here are very friendly. And I do appreciate the music being on in case I forget my headphones (even if it isn't what I usually listen to). They also have free WiFi here... Which is always a plus. read more

If there was another gym closer to me with similar offerings, that's where I'd be. The staff here is on Netflix or coloring in a coloring book all day. Coloring book? Are you hiring 5 year olds? Might as well be as they are about as responsible as one; machines are out for weeks if not months at a time. Today they were out of racket balls and yet, they have five courts. Good thing they didn't run out of weights.... The staff here is by far the worst part of this place. The front desk is in need of immediate replacement- they don't even look up when you walk in, I'm surprised they even made it out of bed but by the looks of it, they're hardly awake. So I wrote this review about 2 weeks ago but apparently someone flagged my review as inappropriate. Hmmm.... I wonder who? Horrible horrible customer experience the General Manager. Never introduced himself to us, played on his phone while I asked him questions, and gave me frustrated looks every time I or my husband asked him a question. he was very antsy and from the time we sat down cam off very prideful and that us coming in was wasting his time. He kept telling us that he could not offer us a lower rate and we needed to take it or leave it. We never said we thought the rate was bad. We actually though $24.99 was great compared to what we were paying at LifeTime and considering this gym was much closer to our home. When we told him that we were not complaining about the price we just wanted to make sure we took advantage of the best membership options. He then took the voucher papers and shoved them back in his folder and said either we were going to sign up or not. When I asked the front desk for his name (because he never gave it to us) when I came back to the table he then asked me very rude and sarcastically if I wanted his employee number too and to make sure I spelled his name right when I call to complain. He also told us after I told him I felt he was being offensive and rude to just come back tomorrow and sign up with another rep and walked away leaving us at the sales rep desk. At this point I feel so disrespected, humiliated, and angry that I'm in tears and my husband is trying to calm me down. I accidently left my purse because I couldnt even think straight and he was standing at the front desk talking about me and my husband when I came in. n I told him I will be calling in to complain and wish I would have recorded our interaction. He then told me it did not matter because whoever I talked to would defend him and tell me the same thing he told me. I have never been a member of any LA Fitness but If this is the Standard I would not suggest this gym to my worst enemy. I and my husband both work for a major fortune 500 company with thousands of employees relocating to the area within the next 6-12 months and I will make it my business that they know about our experience here. I recently moved back to McKinney and I'm looking for a gym. I found a coupon online for a free guest pass. I called to make sure that they would except it. I went to the location and took the tour. The facility didn't look bad but the equipment was a little outdated. My interaction with the Sales Manager Brett was terrible. After driving up there he wouldn't honor my guess pass unless I signed up for a membership. Don't bother with going to the gym and dealing with the sales team. They are not helpful or have a positive attitude. Their corporate office needs to make sure they have the right people in place. Find a Gold's Gym, Lifetime Fitness, or something else! read more

Let's begin by sharing the Never-Worked-On-and-Never-Finished construction on El Dorado going across 75. This makes getting to the gym super annoying. People don't want to work out as is, don't make it tough on them to get there! Well, that's not the gym's fault. The Good: 1. More often than not, there is usually a stairmaster open for use. 2. There is a sweet guy up front that reminds me of a ginger Macklemore. 3. Most clients are very respectful and do not take up unnecessary space. The Bad: 1. More often than not, there are usually 1-2 stairmasters that are broken. 2. There are usually broken treadmills as well. 3. They are slow to fix things. 4. The bathrooms, while always being cleaned, are not cleaned with the right chemicals - because it is always smelly in there. 5. There is a closed area for personal training only, with multiple signs and rope - but a trainer's wife is free to use it whenever she wants. It is her personal space. It fits the purpose of a gym, but a low end one. read more

On 6/30/2018 at approximately 9AM, I went to the gym located at US HWY 75 and Eldorado like I usually do on Saturdays. I began my workout and 20 mins into my workout, one of the employees approached me. He touched my shoulder and said, "Excuse me, we've received multiple complaints about you and your attire at the club and you're violating the dress code policy that you agreed to when you signed up at LA Fitness." Additionally he mentioned that there was inappropriate touching by me and my workout partner and at this time he asked me to leave. I asked why I was being asked to leave the gym. He stated that because my shorts were in violation of the dress code that's listed under the rules and regulations policy at LA Fitness. I told him that I would acquiesce to leaving the gym and oblige the request. But I told him that before I left, I wanted to see the dress code policy at LA Fitness. I've been a member since 09/2013 and I've never once been treated with such disrespect. I gather my belongings and approach the front desk where I'm met by another girl who has told me that if I don't willingly leave the premises that I will be escorted by the police. I asked to speak with the manager - who at the time was the only manager on duty. Bret H - sales manager was the only one there who was available to speak with me. He reiterated to me that I was being ejected from the club because I was in violation of the dress code. I asked to see the dress code and second time and it was not provided to me. I asked to see the policy and agreement that I signed and they told me that it was emailed to me in 2013 and was available to me online, again, refusing to provide me the information that I requested. Additionally, I asked to see their certificate of liability insurance and they refused to provide this information to me as well. A local Sherriff vehicle came in and was apprised of the situation and told me and my friend that he has been discriminated against all the time and it wasn't a big deal - he was a cop. At this point, I was completely overwhelmed and experiencing side effects from my medication that I take as I am an ADA recognized afflicted young man who suffers from extreme anxiety and depression. And not only was I mortified that I was being humiliated at a gym that I've used for 5 years, I was also embarrassed and mortified that I was being sexually discriminated against guised by the allegation that I have "violated the dress code policy". LA Fitness Rules and Regulations: ...4: MEMBERS AND GUESTS WILL ABIDE BY AND FULLY COMPLY WITH THE LA FITNESS DRESS CODE FOR PROPER ATTIRE ON THE CLUB PREMISES, WHICH INCLUDES WEARING PROPER SWIMMING ATTIRE WHEN USING ANY CLUB POOL OR SPA. IN ADDITION, FOR SAFETY REASONS, CLUBS MAY POST RECOMMENDED, BUT NOT REQUIRED, ATTIRE. FOR EXAMPLE, LA FITNESS RECOMMENDS SHOWER SHOES OR SANDALS IN ALL WET TILE AREAS AND EYE GUARDS DURING RACQUETBALL ACTIVITIES. ...5: IN ADDITION TO WEARING PROPER SWIMWEAR ATTIRE, YOU MUST SHOWER BEFORE USING ANY CLUB POOL OR PA. PERSONS WITH OPEN WOUNDS MAY NOT USE A CLUB POOL OR SPA. The Rules and Regulations do not mandate a dress code. Additionally, I visited the LA Fitness in Frisco, TX off of Preston and HWY 121, because this used to be my home gym. I walked in and asked to speak with the manager on duty, whose name was Johnathan. I approached him and asked him if my attire was in violation of LA Fitness dress code. He said, "No, you're fine. Why do you ask?" I told him that I was ejected from another club on the basis of dress code violation and he was able to confirm for me that LA Fitness does not, in fact, have a mandated dress code for each club. This proves that not only was the guise that I violated the dress code policy, in fact, false, but it clearly indicated that the only reason that I was being ejected to the gym was based on the homophobia, bigotry, and sexual discrimination that is utterly rampant in this society. I consider this act of discrimination a hate crime and LA Fitness needs to be brought to justice. I did not violate the 'dress code policy' and I was ejected from the gym under false pretenses that my attire was inappropriate when there are half naked ladies who traipse around the gym and nobody blinks an eye. read more

Worse costumer service ever. I tried going in today with my friend who is a member who got me a VIP 14 day pass online that said all I needed was to show my driver license. We went in and they sent us to the member service and the person there quickly told us no we can not do that. We told him we did it online and he says he knows what it says online but you have to pay. That is the worse costumer service and would never recommend that place and my friend even wants to cancel his service too now. read more
