    Moldy AC outlets.

Mold everywhere!!! I got sick in this location. The A/C has mold in it. The gym smell like mold and very outdated. I got sick for days. Don't even think about it going there!

    Weights still on bars

Very run down, smelly, lazy staff at front desk...where should I stop?? Here's some pics from this morning 11/27- one of the first ones in the door and here is just a glimpse of the mess left overnight... Lazy staff and lazy members...but, the members aren't held accountable by staff to re-rack weights or put anything away.

    Dirty gym , smells bad
    Andrew B.

terrible gym,.. the floor of the simulators are broken, stand less than 1 meter apart. Very dirty, bad smell. the air conditioner is not working. highly do not recommend!! everything is very old and insanely dirty. complete unsanitary conditions!!! all positive reviews are written by the FL fitness PR team. It is obvious. you need to lose your mind not to notice this stench and dirt.

    Disgusting
    Therese S.

I was in the area so I figured I'd check out this gym. Regretfully, I didn't look at the reviews prior to coming here. The staff was friendly but the actual gym itself is completely atrocious. I'm not even exaggerating when I say I've never been to a worse gym than this. It is so old and run down. I don't know how this location is still in business considering just how worn out and outdated all the machines are. The layout of the gym is just confusing and makes no sense. The locker room is disgusting. It feels like you could catch a disease if you stayed in that gym too long. It needs some SERIOUS remodeling & renovation because it has to be embarrassing giving tours to possible clientele. I wouldn't even go to this gym again if someone paid me, let alone have to pay $20-30 for a membership there. This gym definitely gives off Motel 6/abandoned house vibes

This man should be fired for being rude to gym goers

Many times we believe that a coach is there to tell you how many repetitions and voila, what's more, it is common to see them watch TV or start conversations with other people making you feel insignificant which does not help in the transformation you are looking for when transforming your body, I quickly understood after working with others that like everything in life, exceptional is achieved with small adjustments beyond the standard. The training methodology and strategy not only includes eating well, but your mentality when doing your exercises, thanks to him I feel motivated and I'm even giving more than I think I can and here is the key, I don't know It is about repetitions, but about the set and the personality of the one in front of you and the group work of different muscles, that is achieved with experience and Moe you have it, so if you are looking to transform your body and you want someone who knows, and gives results and not only that but it will be there to push you psychologically and physically you must train with it! My word to define it is exceptional, remember that life does not reach excellence with mediocrity, you must work with the best! You find it in Olympia gym in adventure! I saw an ad for the Aescape robot massage…read morewhile scrolling Facebook - Aescape places these massage machines in different gyms and spas, so I picked the Equinox in Aventura since it was the closest. Check-in at the main gym front entrance was quick and pleasant , but once I got to the desk in the spa area it took a minute to find anyone to actually help me. Eventually someone showed me to the room and had me change into the little fitted top and bottom they provide. You also take off your shoes and jewelry and put your hair up so the machine arms don't get caught. Everything is computerized [no surprise there] When you lie face-down, there's basically an iPad-esque screen right under you. From this screen you pick your massage style, pressure, focus areas, ambiance music, adjust the table... all of it. Then the machine scans your body to map out your stress points like it's building a strategic plan for your back. FYI -- if you move, even a little, the machine pauses until you're back in position. I chose the full-body massage with extra attention on my shoulders. Each section had phases -- a warm-up, the main massage, and a cooldown. You can skip past any section if you want and adjust pressure at any time. Now, my mind kept flashing to every robot movie I've ever seen but honestly? This was one of the best massages I've had. The machine knew exactly where my shoulder knots were hiding. When I finished, there was nobody at the tiny spa desk again, so I just quietly walked out. Wasn't sure what else to do lol I give the massage itself 5 stars, but took one off because the spa area felt completely unattended both when I walked in and when I walked out. I wasn't even sure if I was supposed to check out with someone or just disappear into the sunset I will say I recall the person who helped me saying it was a relatively new addition to the gym [I think], and I did receive a follow up text asking about my experience. For the price [$19 to $$29] it cant be beat. I'm definitely going back, not just for the cost though but because that massage actually got the knots out of my shoulders!

Kaisa the owner makes it a welcoming, motivating and fun time to come and grind it out every time. HIIT group classes with multiple stations consisting of 4-5 movements/reps that you try to do as many times as possible. There may be some more arm or leg work than the other on some days, but it's always a go-hard full body workout. Warmup typically includes some running outside down the front of the other studios in the complex, but there are stationary bikes for anyone who doesn't want to run. I love that they make time for abs, a cool down and stretching at the end. My main classes are: Tune Up - a different HIIT workout every time, multiple tools and equipment Supercharge - a combination of HIIT and kickboxing The Racetrack - 9-10 different stations ("miles") of HIIT They have boxing gloves for rental, and of course bring your own if you have, since you'll need them for Supercharge and Burn Out (mainly kickboxing). My only qualm is boxing on the movable bags; they tend to inch away from you after each punch, so you have to either punch from the opposite side or drag the bag back. They are always changing their workout formats so it's worth checking the schedule and seeing what's happening; I think Kaisa is adding a yoga class on Sundays. As she said, there should be something for everyone here!

I've never been to a gym were so many people have no problem taking selfies and recording their every set. You'll even see trainers film every set for their clients yet zoom in on their butt. If you go to Kodiak's instagram page, this is what you'll see. At some gyms, people will record to check form...not at this place. Just go to their IG page. The equipment is a mixed bag. Some extremely old pieces and some new pieces. Also some very odd pieces that stick out. Like the one set of gold 20lb dumbbells. Or the super thin 25lb plates. There's like two. They have a lot of plate loaded equipment towards the front of the gym, but most of the plates are by the leg equipment. They should fix this. People here seem to really like to takeover several pieces of equipment at once. Reracking weights are non existent. Dumbells, plates, handles for the pulleys are all over the floor. Even trainers don't rerack. Everything I mentioned here you can see on their IG and if you ever tour the gym. It's a solid gym if you can tune out the noise.

This is how I discovered and fell in love with Plank Yoga studio which is conveniently located 6 minutes away from where I live. The studio's vibe is very clean, the decoration is minimalistic the floors are light wood which contribute to this cleanliness vibe and the color scheme is white and purple. There isn't a whole lot going on in the studio, just the check in desk a small waiting area with an even smaller retail area. Yes the studio is tiny, but the number of people they accept is limited so you will never feel like you can't stretch because you will hit a fellow Yogi. I took a Power Vinyasa class with Taly Ostfeld who is the studio's owner and man was that class challenging. It consisted of a traditional Vinyasa Flow sequence but on steroids. The transitions were incredibly fast and the workout was mostly core-centric. My boyfriend who is a little less experienced in Yoga than I am, told me his abs were hurting for two days. This is not a class that I would recommend to someone who is a beginner but definitely one I would suggest to someone who wants to practice Yoga with a cardio component to it. Overall I was very satisfied with my experience at Plank and will be visiting it again in the future. There are two downsides to this studio which are the fact that they offer very few classes during the week and also the classes are super expensive. At $25 per class they are more expensive than even the most expensive studios in New York and buying big class packages does not lower the cost per class. Towels and mats are included which I guess compensates a little for the price of the class.
