[[HIGHLIGHT]]Someone spilled a half gallon of water on the floor, I reported to the girl at the desk who was chatting with a male guest. I tole her she needs to call someone to clean up before anyone slipped. She said "ok" but continued chatting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I told her again, "you don't want anyone slip there and....." she replied "ok" again and the male guest even added "it'll be taken care of" but no one comes.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I took the photos of the floor & the desk. I guess, they don't give a hoot if someone slips and falls. Sad for the LA Fitness if they get sued. Well, 7 minutes later, the desk girl finally walked to the back, I assume to get someone. Really wish I didn't have to write this review but today was my last day at this location after frequenting here for the last 10+ years. The funny thing is my entire group has stopped coming to this LA fitness location except for me. Cockroaches in the sauna. A fully soaked ceiling that was painted white to cover the brown stains instead of a replacement. Leaky walls that haven't been cleaned in over a week in the personal training area (starting to develop an odor). None of this kept me away from the gym up until a few weeks ago where I strained my back because of a loose bench seat as I began a dumbbell chest exercise. That's okay I told myself, I'll just make sure to avoid that bench. Not only has this bench not been fixed after a few weeks but today I tried doing an incline dumbbell bench press on a completely separate bench and almost messed up my back big time because the seat was not able to stay at a 180 degree angle. This was NOT a user error but another broken bench at the gym. I can't risk my health anymore at this gym, truly a shame. read more

I've been a member at LA Fitness for 25 years, and overall I still enjoy my gym. The gym equipment is in good condition, everything works well, and the machines are regularly maintained. The overall floor atmosphere is clean, and I often see the cleaning crew working to keep the workout areas hygienic. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Most of the staff are friendly and welcoming, which makes it a positive place to exercise.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That being said, the men's bathroom needs serious attention. The maintenance and hygiene there are very poor compared to the rest of the gym. There's often a strong smell of urine, dirty lockers, and unclean floors. On one occasion, I even witnessed a staff member using the same rag to clean the toilets and then the sink countertops, which is concerning for health and sanitation. Before Covid, the gym maintenance standards were much higher, but since then, it feels like hygiene isn't being prioritized the same way. A clean bathroom is just as important as a clean workout floor, and I really hope management brings back the higher level of care the gym used to have. This location has great potential, it just needs more consistent bathroom upkeep and better staff training on proper cleaning practices to truly provide a safe, hygienic, and welcoming experience for all members read more

A friend of mine who recently joined the LA Fitness Devonshire location suggested I go and see the facility and maybe join. After careful consideration to choose to go and not bother with other locations or smaller gyms, I visited and really liked the openness and how nice the machines looked in white which gives off a calming effect. [[HIGHLIGHT]]But most importantly was the warm and friendly reception by Ruslan (Russ) who kindly showed me the entire facility.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I knew I had to join and it was the best decision I ever made. Nick, Mel, Ryan, Ruslan and John Garcia are amazing. They are true professionals and I have noticed what dedication they have to their profession. Their courtesy and friendliness is unwavering. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They lift my spirits at every visit and no doubt everyone. They take a moment to exchange some words and I always feel so welcomed and know I can go and ask questions or help[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. What a terrific team of great guys at this gym. I was 145 lbs last year when I signed up at LA Fitness and I am 112 lbs now! I enrolled at LA Fitness in April 2024. The gentleman who signed me up said I was almost 40 lbs. over my ideal weight. I knew I had to reduce my weight because I was having chest pains, was diagnosed hypertensive, and borderline diabetic. I love Zumba and was grateful that LA Fitness is offering a lot of Zumba classes and other group classes. I attended several Zumba classes at LA Fitness gyms, but to my frustration, I was not losing that much weight. Until I attended REBECCA RIOS' Zumba Class in October 2024! It's the BEST Zumba class I have ever attended! Her class is very challenging. It is far from the usual Zumba classes that are doing the same boring Zumba steps. It is more of dancing which I love! In each of REBECCA'S class, Im doing more than 40 minutes of exercise, almost 400 calories burn and more than 8K steps. And I have to watch my diet, too of course! I am very thankful to REBECCA RIOS 'coz from being size 10, I am now a size 6 and even a size 4! SO, I RECOMMEND YOU CHECK OUT HER CLASS AND LET'S DANCE OUR WAY TO BEING HEALTHY! read more

Basically a gym with the usual line up of machines and treadmills, but the music is even and not too loud. I like that they have mat Pilates and yoga to change it up, and are going to put in Reformer classes. Most have punching bags for cardio and movement. The pool looks clean so we'll see. read more

Predatory Sales Tactics I went in for a trial session with a personal trainer, having mentioned over the phone that I wasn't looking to commit to ongoing sessions. I was told they could instead provide some nutritional advice, which I was open to. Unfortunately, the session quickly turned into an hour-long sales pitch. Despite my repeated statements that I wasn't interested in purchasing sessions due to financial priorities, the trainer continued to pressure me--going as far as to say I was "completely wasting [my] time in the gym without a personal trainer" and insisting I couldn't reach my goals on my own. This felt not only dismissive but unnecessarily aggressive. For context, I generally follow a structured push/pull/legs routine with cardio in between and the goal I mentioned is just to lose a few pounds of fat and be healthy. I recently returned to the gym after a financial break and was hoping for support, not pressure. The experience left a bad taste, and I wouldn't recommend this facility to anyone not prepared to be sold to hard. read more

This LA fitness is very mid..... it's missing the essential gym equipment necessary for an efficient workout. A lot of the equipment is dated and obsolete, and it's in desperate need of reorganization. I maybe saw two mats in the entire gym and they were torn/worn out! The locker room's open concept is terrible and the Wi-Fi at this location is extremely shoddy. Fortunately, the staff are friendly and helpful. I wouldn't recommend. read more

I've been with LA fitness for about a year now, my husband goes to crunch, my husband rarely gets time off so since he had a day off we decided to go to my gym today where my husband asked for the pass since he's never used one. Care amenities: Gym doesn't provide clean towels in a workout class nor in the locker rooms. You're still paying for that... Maintenance: Machines sit broken for months I hear. But they're eventually fixed. Plus sides: Many weight and cardio machines if that's your thing. Spin room. Personal trainer zone Basketball looks like no joke. Smoothie bar! I wonder if John D. saw the same trainer/sales rep that I saw, because my experience was nearly identical. I had already signed up for the gym membership before [redacted] showed me around the gym and gave me a sample training session before taking me back to the desk for the sales pitch. When I told him many, many times that I couldn't afford the training program on top of the regular gym membership he began to get more aggressive, condescending, and rude. He was pushier than any car salesperson I've ever had the displeasure of haggling with, and that's really saying something. It got to the point that I had to get up and leave out of frustration. I thought about it for a few hours but ultimately decided to cancel my membership. It's a shame, because this actually looks like a nicely maintained facility, clean, lots of machines to choose from, but I can't imagine returning to a business that would treat me so disrespectfully. If you feel like you need a gym membership, I implore you to look elsewhere first, but if this is the only option that works for you, sign up for the membership, but avoid talking to the trainers beyond that. read more
