Signed up for a 3 day pass just wanted to do a workout while I have a friend and relative visiting. Wanted to give the whole run down and sell me a membership mentioned I just wanted to work out not interested just wanted to check it out. Bc of that my 3 day pass I signed up for bc I don't want to listen to his pitch he just said ok you can have a day pass. And that is why I wouldn't just sign up bc your service sucks along w your gym. You just want to waste peoples time. This location used to be one of my favorites. I haven't been here in a few years. I came in to use the pool, looked around & realized how deteriorated it had become. I went to use the showers but I was too grossed out & decided to shower at home instead. I doubt I'll be coming back. Me and my wife were in town visiting and decided to check out some gyms in the area. This gym is pretty sad. Did a tour with of the facility with Brian, the gym has really old, outdated equipment. For the same price point you can go join EoS of Chuze fitness with newer more modern equipment that is better tailored to HIIT, CrossFit, Hyrox style workouts with more open space for stretching and post workout recovery. Me and my wife went to work out at EoS right after this and their gym was SOO much better! Hope this review helps. read more

THEY ARE SCAMMING THEIR CUSTOMERS I walked in to join this gym and I asked for a tour so I can see how busy it was first before I commit. The gym was pretty packed but I came during their busiest time so that was understandable. I sat down with (i think) the manager and he started setting me up with an account and went over pricing. I told him I would not bring a guest and would only be going to this location and wanted to know the price and he told me $40.99. The website says it would be $34.99 (I checked before I walked in) so when I asked him why it didn't match the website he turned his screen off and said he would check and then said that I was right and it was $34.99... I don't think he would have given me the $34.99 price if I didn't call him out for it. I don't appreciate people overcharging for a membership and definitely will not be coming back read more

The locker room has turned into a main hub for sexual harassment with people with the same sex orientations using it as an excuse to be intrusive while others are getting dressed and even showering And a stare down is one thing but to try to be sexually intimidating and so sexually harassing that you're trying to occupy a space that somebody's in and getting so close that accidentally touching them is something that just gonna coincidentally happen the locker room is a sexual case waiting to happen, it would be in everyone's best interest to make accommodations or stricter rules. Absolutely disappointed! Over ten years of membership and many of us are starting to look elsewhere. The LA fitness upper management is always changing which makes the service inconsistent. Some days we have a janitor on duty and stocked supplies and others we don't have neither. The gym hasn't been remodeled since I started my membership over ten years ago. The sauna is the worst with some days not even turned on. The equipment is falling apart and doesn't get replaced when chipped. The AC in the building is kept off to keep their savings high while us the consumer suffers. I'm not sure what it will take, but it seems that their management doesn't even want to hear our complaints. I wish you could do better LA fitness as you have many of us regulars coming here for many years. read more

I have been coming to this gym for several years now. There are certainly many things that can be improved. It is long overdue for a full on remodel along with other aspects that could be improved. But this five star rating is intended for two individuals that work here that go above and beyond their duty! I want to shout out Gabriel and Fernando! Both are custodians here that always bring a smile to my face whenever we interact! Gabriel is such a hard worker and has a work ethic that is seriously one of the most impressive I have ever witnessed. Always on top of any task and ultra positive with all the members! This guy needs a raise or promotion! Fernando is the same. Always working hard and making sure not to stop until the job is done! He cares about the members and always brings positivity to the environment! No this place is so damn rundown. Dated too. Everything is the same as they first opened. Dirty showers with mold on the tile grout and mold on the shower curtain. Many spot on the ceiling from leaks. They literally put a bucket to catch the water. Looks like the ceiling might come down at any moment. The only water fountain upstairs is broken and has had a sign that said out of order for at least a year now. A sign also says "scheduled for maintenance" for more than a year now. Broken lockers in the locker room. Dirty ass carpet everywhere. Definitely unsanitary. No reachable hooks in the shower area. So much so that someone even brought their own hooks and placed them in one of the showers. The locker room has also been extremely colder than usual. Others have complained too. The response is they are working on it. That was more than a week ago. The pool and Jacuzzi are also now closed. They said the city closed them down. They have no control of when it will reopen. LA fitness. Get your facility up to date. (Looking for a new gym) this place sucks. Go to the Moreno Valley location. It's the complete opposite of this shit hole. Paper towel are always out at this location in female locker room not sure about male locker room. Sink has been out of order for months but says it's schedule for repair. Another girl was coming out of bathroom and was looking for paper towels. She says it's like this here all the time... either toilet paper is all gone or paper towels. Typical if I could give 0 stars I would. One of the worst gyms I've been to showers and work out area. Recently I've been having to come here because the lights are out at my usual Esporta and this is the nearest to that. The equipment needs to be oiled up, the work out area is always musty. The showers are absolutely horrendous. I'm already not a fan of the layout where the showers are next to the sauna because it makes you sweat after you get out. But man these showers had mold on the curtains the air vents were rusty and it smelled like PEE. at least the Esporta keeps their restrooms clean. I love this gym! The main reason is because of two people, crystal my personal trainer has helped me so much! She is not an amazing trainer, but a genuinely amazing person. I will forever be loyal to her as my trainer. The other person is Jenni the manager! She cares so for her gym members. She is in my opinion the best manager I've ever encountered. When I have to travel, it's nice to find a local LA Fitness gym. The bathrooms were extremely clean, sauna and jacuzzi clean and not crowded, the pool was smaller than my regular gym location but it was very clean. The weight machines were vast and I found each one that I normally use. The bikes and treadmills were available, not packed at all. The staff at the reception front desk were very friendly and also, directed me to a trainer to answer my question regarding one of their machines. The trainer took the time to go over it with me and even gave some additional recommendations. I would recommend this location, seems to be a very nice surrounding neighborhood and there is a Starbucks in the same shopping center. Easy parking. read more

This used to be a quality gym. No more. Broken equipment stays broken forever. The Men's sauna was broken for over two months. It was fixed for two weeks and now it's down again. Let's see how long they take to fix it this time. The way this place is maintained makes me think they are looking for an opportunity to close it down. Don't post any criticism on their IG page, they will ban you. They will randomly close the gym and the only notification is on their IG page. Keep in mind they only have 200 followers and about 120 of those are businesses that don't come in to use the gym. When I pointed out that this was not an effective way to communicate to members the gym would be closed, I was blocked. LA Fitness is a chain workout facility. It operates like one: from its website to the attention it provides its membership on the floor. This is a sales driven organization. This was accentuated by their monthly membership billing practices. By in large, you will need to be self-motivated and self-sufficient in your workouts, or pay for individual support. They do offer some free classes on a limited basis. The equipment is reasonably taken care of. There is a lot of people using the machines, so you may want to time your visits for off peak hours. During the pandemic restrictions, LA Fitness attention to sanitation was marginal and their enforcement of protocols was lacking. Fortunately this is an issue of the past, but exemplifies the tone for attention to sanitation. I like the variety of equipment for my average-person workout needs. If you live on the east side of town, they are located super conveniently off the Ford off-ramp and the I10 freeway. read more

I've been going here for years and it's honestly really frustrating that I pay damn near 40 a month for a gym that stinks like piss, the sinks to be out of order, gym equipment broken and not fixed for weeks, or possibly a month or more, toilets clogged and I'm sure there's more to the list. I have waited at the check-in desk for an unacceptable amount of time before someone has looked up from their phone to greet me. Even though I live close by, this gym has not been any different than other gyms I've visited. I have been a member at this gym for many years. I didn't always go consistently, but when I did it would be for six to seven months at a time. I was attending three or four times a week until they closed for Covid. Then I worked out at my Department's gym and found I could do everything I needed with fewer people to deal with (it had been getting very crowded at LA Fitness). Then I retired and started working out at home in the backyard with fitness bands and discovered I got much better strength and size results with the bands (the power curve is different than with free weights or machines). With a gym bag full of different thickness power bands, you don't need a gym, unless you are going there to socialize or ogle while touching a machine every once in a while. Anyways, it was time to cancel my membership. I like the gym, but I really couldn't see myself going again and wanted to save the $30 a month. I had always heard horror stories about attempting to cancel an LA Fitness membership - it was like trying to leave The Hotel California. They made the process so onerous, you just got worn down and gave up. I tried to call the main headquarters to cancel several times, but only got a pre-recorded message that wait times were very long and that everyone was busy. Then I got the bright idea to go to the gym and cancel there (I'm not sure why I didn't think of that first). I arrived at the gym and told the receptionist that I wanted to cancel my membership. She gave me an odd look and said she couldn't do that, only the manager could and he had already left for the day. I thought, "Okay, here we go" and wondered what the actual chances were that the manager would be there tomorrow, or the next day, or the next week. It also struck me that if I had wanted to "join" there would have been seven people there able to help me. And, why do I need to see the manager...was he or she going to throw some slick sales techniques at me learned from Corporate and sell me an even more expensive membership? I went home and Googled "cancel LA Fitness membership" and read many accounts of people having incredibly difficult times trying to cancel - sending certified letters to headquarters, getting the run around, hiring lawyers. I thought that I was in for a long battle. I'm retired though, so eager for something to keep me busy. I went back to the gym two days later prepared to battle the manager. I told the person at reception that I wanted to cancel my membership. He said, "No problem" and asked me to scan in. I did so, he confirmed my name and email and asked if I minded providing a reason for the cancellation. I told him I worked out at home now and just didn't need the gym anymore. He thanked me and advised he canceled the membership. I left kind of surprised (and maybe a bit deflated) that it was that easy, given all the stories I had heard. Maybe LA Fitness had engaged in those shenanigans in the past but apparently not anymore. I have to say that LA Fitness' actions during Covid have been pretty classy. It appears they are doing everything they can to remain in business and provide a good service to customers. In the future, I may decide that I want the social atmosphere of the gym again and I would go right back to LA Fitness. read more

Came in for a guest pass and they talked me into a membership. Very aggressive and pushy. I don't know why they sent me to sales right away. Then assigned me a trainer without me asking for one. Sorry but this gym is too expensive, esp with them not having paper towels, dirty dated bathrooms. The showers are terrible. The only good thing is they cancelled it for me pretty quickly. I've had issues with Arturo and Cassidy they are horrible managers! They don't communicate well and Cassidy has so many complaints from employees & customers and nothing gets done .. She's very rude and Arturo just covers up for her bad behavior! I will never go to that LA fitness in Redlands .. Arturo doesn't return calls and he's doesn't care if you have a problem .. Have been a member here for over 15 years So I'm not just talking out my ass. This place has went down hill in the last five..I live very close so it's convenient (that's why I've stayed here so long). lets begin... 1) fix your damn air conditioner..im Inclined to think they shut it off on purpose because around afternoon rush (during summer) it smells and feels like a football locker room..but miraculously if your there at 6:00pm it magically starts working again..now I'm not a rocket Scientist but factor that with 50 percent of the cardio equipment (upstairs) being shut off or out of order during rush hours ..well, seems kind of suspect. 2) clean the damn place, tell the kids in the front desk to get off their phone and clean the damn place...Ill give you a quick example..worked out at 5:00pm on a Friday. Water bottles and peoples sweat soaked paper towels just thrown all over the place..fucking gross..go back that Saturday around 12:00 and the shit is literally all in the same spot.!? i don't know what the hell is wrong with people and they are pigs but the staff should be cleaning the gym and equipment, especially right now! 3) fix the damn equipment, and I'm not talking just about just the gym equipment..go in the men's bathroom and there is 75 percent of there urinals broken with parts on the floor..the sanitizer/soap dispensers are always empty. 4) where the fuck are the handles for the cable machines? They have a lat pull down rope that's been there for ten years...same one as long as I can remember. God forbid they have more then one curl bar attachment. And wth is up with the random cable handles everywhere? They have this Home Depot Rubbermaid trunk thingy sitting next to the cable cross over machine..this thing is like a damn tank..open it and it smells like hot dog water and it's empty aside from a broken pulley, dirty paper towel and what looks to be spit..like chewing tobacco spit. 5) the dumbbells.the damn dumbbells? Want to use a pair of 15 lbs/20lbs/25lbs ? Good luck on a weekday.. only have one set of 15s two sets of 20s and 25s. Really stupid rack considering 75 percent of the dumbbells are 65 and up..I'm not Arnold but damn man, give some love to us regular natty lifters that aren't jabbing tren in our ass. Can't find a dumbbell? Just walk around the gym for five minutes..you'll more then likely find it underneath a leg machine or some other random place..I don't think I've ever seen an employee re racking,putting away the trip hazard weights the lazy assholes can't be bothered to put back. 6) one of every machine? Nice, I can't wait to use the chest fly in 45 minutes after Chad and brad get done with there selfies. 7) hours..pay full price ..8am on a weekend?! 8) some one stole my iPod ,had it locked in the locker and they snapped the latch and took it while I was in the pool. I really miss that iPod..it was the one with color screen and 60 gb. Pretty damn rare nowadays lol. so I think I covered the bases..i was a soldier..stayed loyal for over a decade but I can't in good conscious keep paying upper tier price for a run down sweatbox in need of a cleaning. not when there's newer,cleaner,nicer gyms in Redlands now. what's weird thing is I've been to the one up bu cal state San Bernardino and it was immaculate..place was awesome. redlands location is the armpit of la fitnesses for some reason? time to move on to greener grass. :( read more
