This location is super nice! I came on a weekday and it was really clean and not at all busy. There are a ton of amenities, including a sauna room. I appreciated the abundant cable machines and deadlift platforms, especially during peak hours. They have the colored bumper plates so you don't have to use hex plates for weightlifting. I also saw a free standing landmine setup in the corner next to the cable machines in the weight room. The weight room was sizable, but I personally didn't love whatever brand the single decline press bench was, as the smallest setting was too tall for me, lol. This is one of the nicer LAFitnesses I've been to, and I've been going around SoCal trying out different ones. It's bigger and better stocked, and seems more geared towards athletes in general. read more

I recently became a member and had a disappointing experience when attempting to bring a guest to the gym. The guest check-in process was much longer and more complicated than what I've experienced at other fitness centers, and the staff did not clearly explain the steps involved. Throughout the interaction, the process felt less like a straightforward guest registration and more like a sales presentation, which was unexpected and added to the frustration. My guest was asked to complete an extensive questionnaire, after which we were directed to an office to continue the process. Throughout the interaction, there was very little communication about what was required, how long it would take, or why certain information was needed. This created unnecessary confusion and frustration. Before meeting with the staff member in the office, I asked another employee (older man, shorter, black shirt , belly, thin hair) approximately how long the process would take. Rather than providing an estimate or seeking clarification, he repeatedly stated that it was not his department and that he did not know. Given his position, I expected a more helpful response or an effort to direct us appropriately. When we eventually met with the other man who guided us to the office, the conversation felt unnecessarily defensive/ passive aggressive. Instead of addressing our concerns about the lack of communication, he focused on justifying the process and made comments such as, "we can't just let anyone in here; there are murderers," which seemed unprofessional and unrelated to our concern. Our issue was never with providing guest information--it was with the poor communication, rude staff, lack of transparency, and the sales-oriented nature of the interaction when we were simply trying to check in a guest for a workout. To add to the confusion, the staff member later acknowledged that a mistake had been made regarding the guest pass on my account and that certain steps we were told were necessary were ultimately not needed. As a newer member, I was hoping for a more welcoming and organized experience. Better communication, greater transparency about the guest process, and a more professional approach from staff would have made a significant difference. I just had the most humiliating and unnecessary interaction with the front desk manager at this club. I am beyond words at how inappropriate he was. I will have to take this up the ladder because no one should be allowed to talk to someone like that. I've been an LA fitness member for about 15 years, mostly going to this facility. It's a busy gym and very convenient to my house. Things are changing, tho and not for the good. It hasn't been updated for a while and it shows. Equipment is looking old and not working properly. The astroturf isn't very clean. Equipment breaks and it takes weeks for it to be repaired. The tv stations on the cardio machines are suddenly limited to 3 stations and have been for over a week. And I'm not shocked that it's not been fixed. After covid, the personal trainers all shifted to very young in career and often spend a lot of flor time admiring themselves and filming themselves. I started with a trainer at another store because I didn't want to work with the young trainers who didn't have a lot of experience but admire themselves a lot. Overall, when should be a star is worn and not being repaired in a timely manner. I've had workout where many of the machines I want to use were out of order for several weeks. If you are ok with over crowded gym at a premium price, this is right up there. But, thats not what forced me to write a review. I was stupid enough to be trapped in their training program. This is a real trap that would make a sleezy car salesman look like a saint because this just does not end. 1. The person who sold us this program, said it's a month to month contract & we can cancel anytime (LIE). Once we signed, turns out, we had to pay them for 6 months minimum even then if we want to cancel it can only be done on 25th of the 6th month. They won't let us cancle before that date (without us paying a fine) & if we are a day late, they will charge for next month. I was not kidding when I said neverending. 2. Training Demo was with a different person, actual trainer was way worst. 3. When we put our gym membership on hold (they allow this) they still continued charging money for training. 4. People on front desk or call center would say they can't do anything but their VP is the only person who can tackle such basic stuff & that he will call. But that dude never calls. These are not one-off mistakes or an individual being stubborn, these pain points are built into their processes so that LA Fitness can continue pulling money out of your bank account. I reported the sauna running cold and the maintenance crew somehow made it worse. It went from 157 down to 140, like a juvenile "that'll show you" move. Even after the big refresh, the place still feels tired and low effort. There are way cheaper and way newer gyms down the street that actually maintain their equipment and act like adults. The gym overall is great very clean, over all staff very friendly. But the supervisor in charge of the trainers and one of the trainers not so much and they both need to have better communication and customer service. Warning: They do not honor guest passes and are disingenuous! I received a 3-day guest pass for LA Fitness on Arlington. Upon arrival, my QR code was scanned, and I was given a tour by Sam. When asked if I had ever been to an LA Fitness before, I mentioned that I might have visited one when I was younger but wasn't sure. At the end of the tour, I declined a membership deal because I wanted to test out the gym first. Subsequently, I was informed that the complimentary guest pass could not be honored because I mentioned a prior visit to an LA Fitness. Despite my insistence that I had no prior visits on record and to check the computer, Sam refused to show me the monitor and charged me a $20 guest pass. I re-read the terms of the complimentary guest pass, which state, "Limit one pass per person, per six months." I haven't been to an LA Fitness in years, let alone in the past six months. When I confronted Sam, he claimed that this particular manager does not allow complimentary guest passes if the person has visited the LA Fitness on Arlington. I reiterated that I had not been to this particular gym or likely any LA Fitness recently, but he insisted it was the manager's rule. I requested to speak to the manager, only to be told he was not available. This is an absolutely unacceptable practice. Although the gym is nice the staff are very deceptive. Whether it's due to commission or not, I am extraordinarily dissatisfied with this service. I have emailed corporate, but unsurprisingly, there has been no response. If you are looking for a day pass.. just go to 24 hour fitness (1 mile away from la fitness) which is $24 for 3 days compared to LA fitness $20 for 1 day. read more

This is the best LA Fitness in the area. It's located in the back of a strip mall with ample parking. All staff wear masks and temp check everyone who enters the building. It is a huge one story building with something for everyone. Pilates, spin, circuit, swimming classes, racquetball courts, hot tub, sauna...etc... I went to the Arlington location in Riverside. When I joined I mentioned to my wife that it wasn't too appealing. Staff not very friendly. Every time I needed an answer, no one would get back to me. Just never felt comfortable there. Went 3 times to cancel membership and each time the manager that does cancelations was never there, even though I went at the hours told. Canceled my membership and training after contract expires (they expect you to have a 6 month minimum contract) now I'm getting emails they are trying to charge me for monthly membership after I received confirmation of cancellation email. I call corporate and the front desk at local spot they both said I have to call the other. Typical nightmare when you go to cancel after they realize you caught in to their money grab. Signed up as an add on to my husband's membership. i was advised that I would have the same membership as his (can bring guests) and he was gonna throw in HIIT for free. Later find out that hiit is included for everyone , not separate like Pilates and to add insult to injury, my membership was more than my husbands and I cannot bring a guest. I visited member services and was advised that for $20 more (59.9), they would add guest. No apologies, no let's work with you. I just wanted to bring my daughter when she visited from out of state, once a year. I cancelled my membership, I work out regularly as my husbands guest and they lost $500 a year. I've been going to LA fitness for the past 9 years. This specific gym has been my home gym for the last 5. When I started going to this location I noticed it is definitely the biggest and easiest to get on a machine, however the staff is very rude. Never a smile or hello welcome in. I treated it normally until 4 months ago when I decided to go check out other gyms where I was always happily greeted. I signed up for another gym and decided today that I would cancel my membership because I haven't been back. When I did i recognized the voice of the lady front desk supervisor who I'm almost always checked in by. I asked, what I would need to cancel my membership since I know it can be difficult to cancel memberships at gyms. After being told what I would need I said "alrighty thank you." Where she laughed and said, "yeah no problem, gross" and then hung up. Do yourself a favor, if you're going to sign up for a gym take notice of the staff and how they treat you. I don't recommend this LA fitness. All of the other ones in the area have been great with kind staff who are helpful. Do better. read more

This place is not good. I really wanted to like it, it was close to my house, big, and seemed to have good amenities. Too bad, it smells rancid. That was my first takeaway. Next, when you go in for a tour and to try it for a day, they make you weigh yourself, take your BMI and tell you all the ways you can lose weight. Great- if I wanted to lose weight... I told them up front, I don't care for my weight, I just want to work strength. I have an eating disorder and it's not in the cards for me to see my weight like that, and when I told them I didn't care about my weight they still made me go through that whole process anyway. smh. read more

This 5 star review is for KIDS CLUB!!! My 2 boys ages 5 & 2 have been going to this Kids Club location since I enrolled to LA Fitness in the summer of 2022. My 2 year old is more frequent here than his older brother because this is his social interaction time since he doesn't go to day care or school yet. First couple of times my 2 year old would push kids & steal their toys. I think this is normal with toddlers. The staff do a good job informing me about this and now that we have been here for a few months now, he's doing so much better!!! Today, the Kids Club staff have told me that his behavior has improved & I also love and appreciate that they call him by his name after 1-2 months of not coming to the gym. They remember him lol. Also, I love how they kept the same people to manage Kids Club because the kids seem comfortable with them. Thank you ladies for taking good care of our children while the parents get in a work out. I love working out at this gym because it's spacious and the staff is helpful. This location has a whole separate weigh room, functional training area which serves as the heart of the gym. The large windows really allow for sun to travel through the gym which is something I really appreciate about this location in specific. Staff here really cares about their members, and the personal training department goes above and beyond for their clients. This location also offers several different group classes throughout the week. There is something for everyone! Personal training bootcamp, Pilates, and group classes! Would recommend! read more

Jonny, who is a representative there is a liar. He overcharged my friends a lot to do their dual memberships, costing around 300$. If you sign up, make sure it's not him or be very vigilante. He is grimy and will just want every penny you can give him. He also told me that he'd be able to get me 3 months for any of my friends or family at any location and when wanting to redeem it at a different location, he started acting brand new and couldn't do much if it wasn't at this location. Switched gyms recently and very happy I did. I love going at 5am. I am able to get on any machine and not so crowded. The girls at the front desk are always smiling and look like they really enjoy their job. The sauna is never packed in the morning which is extremely nice. In the morning the machines are services and I have never seen a machine down which is awesome. My last gym always had the stairs down. read more
