    Pupusas for days!
    Bianca V.

I am NEVER disappointed when I come here. I love bringing new people here as well so they can also fall in love with the pupusas! The pupusas are delicious, big, and made with love for sure! Also, the horchata is SO tasty! Wonderful customer service as well. Love hanging out here and listening to some of my favorite songs. Reminds me of my childhood.

The place takes along time to get your order , probably due to the quality and heartfelt pupusas they make. The restaurant is very authentic and welcoming. You can dine in or order either way you are waiting. The owner made this restaurant for that at home eating style and for family in mind.

Pork, Refried Beans & Cheese pupusa

I had pupusas for the first time here. I had a chicken & cheese and a pork, refried beans & cheese. I really liked the chicken & cheese, sort of a cross between a quesadilla and an empanada. The other one was dominated by the refried beans, next time I will stick with meat and cheese pupusas. I ordered to go, 2 for $8, and it was filling.

Came here awhile ago and was craving some papusa for lunch. I had called ahead of time to pick up. I ordered chicken and cheese, Jalapeño and cheese, and pork/bean/cheese combination. When I went to go pick up, it was about 15 minutes, when I got there the food was almost ready. Interior was nicely designed and colorful. There was no one inside dining but I saw that they had a lot of online orders so I was being patient with my order. The lady at the front was super nice and apologized for the wait. Chicken and Cheese papusa was probably my favorite. The chicken was nice and seasoned and it tasted amazing with the hot sauce and cabbage slaw. The jalapeño and cheese was good but I felt like it lacked a bit of flavor, it was literally just jalapeño and cheese inside but can't do much with flavor there. The pork/bean/cheese was not my favorite honestly, I felt like the beans were over whelming, it didn't look like it had pork inside at all. I was a bit disappointed cause since the pork was barely tasted, I felt like it had no flavor either. The only papusa I actually enjoyed and finished was the chicken and cheese. Will probably only get those next time!

WHY I WENT HERE: - lunch THE LOOK (FROM THE OUTSIDE): - located in the corner of a plaza off Fulton Ave and Loma Vista Dr (in between Loma Vista Dr and El Camino Ave) - decent sized parking lot but also street parking available on Loma Vista Dr THE LOOK (FROM THE INSIDE): - very small/quaint THE MENU: - mix of Mexican and El Salvadorian cuisine - Nachos - Tortas - Quesadillas - Tamales - Kids Menu (under 10 years old) - Burritos - Mexican Dinner Plates - Handmade Corn Tortillas Specialties - Side Dishes/A La Carte - Seafood - Shrimp - Salvadorian House Specialties WHAT I ORDERED: - Zucchini & Cheese Pupusa - Loroco (Squash Blossom) & Cheese Pupusa - Pork/Cheese/Bean (Revuelta) Pupusa THE TASTE: - Zucchini & Cheese Pupusa: 2nd favorite - Loroco (Squash Blossom) & Cheese Pupusa: 1st favorite - Pork/Cheese/Bean (Revuelta) Pupusa: 3rd favorite - the pupusas were crisp and cheesy and pretty big in size - curtido (mildly spiced pickled slaw) was on point and plentiful - red mild salsa was a nice touch CUSTOMER SERVICE: - the cashier was super friendly and all smiles - there is a sign at the cash register indicating to please wait 20-30 minutes as food is made to order; it wasn't terribly crowded/busy (there were some patrons dining in but it wasn't packed to capacity) and my order was actually ready in 35+ minutes (just FYI in case you're in a rush or SUPER hungry)

Everything is 5 star here. Food , service , beers , music If you want the best pupusa come here

My order should've come out to $28 before tax and yet they cashier rang me up for $33.15 + tax added on to that
    Zane T.

Food is amazing, unfortunately I was overcharged by about $5 due to the cashier inputing everything by hand on the register. Also almost $8 for a container of rice is pretty absurd in my opinion, even if the rice is DELICIOUS.

    Bean & cheese pupusa.

Pupusas were EXCELLENT . We had 2 bean & cheese and 2 combo beans, cheese and pork. Service was fast and the food was hot when it came to the table. Music was playing and the news was on in Spanish. We will be back for sure.

Las Palmas has been on my radar (aka my Yelp "Want To Try" collection) for months. This past week,…read moreI stopped by for lunch, and ordered three pupusas. Three was actually wayyy too many. Oh my gosh. If you are a female thinking about ordering three pupusas for yourself, don't do it. Trust me. Two is enough. One might even be enough, depending on your appetite/lifestyle. Apparently, my eyes were feeling much larger than my stomach, so, I ordered one each of queso con frijol, queso con jalapeno, y revueltas (pork and beans). Best pupusas I've ever had in my life. Hands down. The woman running everything, who seemed to probably be the owner, was super friendly to everyone. I noticed her asking other people in Spanish if they wanted more salsa or tortillas, and, when my food came, she asked me the same questions in English. Since I asked for my order to-go, the salsa and cabbage were served in plastic baggies. This was a little bit messy, but, honestly, I would rather have a decent amount of salsa in a little baggy than have to mess with like seven plastic ramekins. The salsa and cabbage mix were both so bomb. Five stars for those alone. I ended up picking off pieces of my pupusas and just drenching them in salsa. Dining in would have definitely been a smarter option-- good thing I always have wet wipes with me, because they were necessary. As to the pupusas, I was surprised by which one was my favorite versus least favorite, because it was exactly the opposite of what I expected. My favorite was definitely the revueltas, then the queso con frijol, then the queso con jalapeno. It may have been partially because I ate the revueltas first, when the tortilla was still the most hot and fresh. By the time I got to the jalapeno, it was getting cold. I've never had pupusas this fresh. The homemade soft tortilla shells were falling apart in my hands as I ate. All of the fillings were so flavorful and amazing. My sister called me while I was eating them and I asked, "Have you ever had a pupusa?" "No, what's that?" "It's like.... like the calzone version of a taco. It's taco fillings, but stuffed inside of a soft tortilla shell." (A pupusa is to a taco as a calzone is to a slice of pizza.) Best pupusas ever, and the price was not bad. The proportions were generous considering the price, as opposed to most taco shops. Would definitely eat here again.

She gave us a sample of their made-from-scratch horchata, and it was delicious and refreshing. We had the two pupusas plate with the Revuelta (cheese+pork+beans) and the queso con loroco (cheese+fernaldia pandurate plant). They were amazing. So glad we found a delicious Salvadoran food bakery and restaurant so close to us. I love that they proudly have snacks and drinks from El Salvador as well as a beautiful painting of the country and the states. Will definitely be returning to try more of the menu!

The birria was so damn good. Carnitas was really good too, the meat was a bit hard at times. I came with a friend and after we ordered there was an almost 30 minute wait. I was getting a bit restless but the place was busy and the food is made fresh. We were also served tortilla chips with frijoles as a sort of appetizer while we waited. They serve beer here as well. Not the biggest restaurant but the server was nice and friendly. Restaurant clean as well. Would definitely be worth visiting again.

The Spot That Made Me Fall in Love with Pupusas…read more This is the place that made me fall in love with a pupuseria. My wife and I were out one day, decided to try something new, and found this gem up the street from our church. One thing I always look for with cultural cuisine is who's actually eating there. When you walk into a place and see people who grew up in that culture enjoying the food, it tells you everything you need to know about authenticity. This spot checks that box. It feels like the kind of food you'd get at a friend's house, not just something made to look the part. The staff was friendly and personable, which made the experience even better. Now, let me set expectations--this isn't the kind of place where your water glass is getting refilled every five minutes. But you can grab a soda or a horchata and you're good to go. The open kitchen is a big part of the experience. You can see everything being made, and more importantly, you can smell it. You start eating with your nose before the food even hits the table. You take it in with your eyes, and then your taste buds finish the job. I've recommended this place to a few people, and they've gone back again and again. That says a lot. If you like authentic food and want something that feels real--not staged--I think this could easily become one of your new favorite spots.
