    Pollo asado and quesabirria tacos
    Kristen H.

This is one of those authentic hole in the walls you know everything's gonna be good if you order it type place. I just got a couple tacos as seen below, the pollo asado and quesabirria. Super greasy and reasonably priced. They charge for water cups probably because they aren't making bank out in this little spot in the Heights area of town. I asked for the broth and it didn't say that was an extra charge, and I didn't end up getting it but I also didn't point out they forgot it so that's on me. Not downgrading for that because I try not to be a petty Yelp person. I would come back to try basically everything.

3.5 stars Restaurant was clean, all of the tables were clean, salsa bar clean and plentiful, adequate air and not stuffy inside. Customer service was very friendly and I liked the decor for this taqueria. We grabbed some salsas, onion/cilantro (for my tacos), and were brought a basket of chips shortly after. The chips seemed like they were store bought, which was fine..at least they weren't stale. Salsas were all good and seemed pretty fresh. My tacos were good! I liked adding my own toppings and salsa. Both the cabeza and the pastor were tender and seasoned well. Unfortunately, my husband did not enjoy his carne asada regular burrito. It was just "mushy" and the meat was not flavored well. He had maybe 4 bites and left the rest. I don't think he wants to rush back.. I would go back for the tacos and maybe try the quesabirria tacos.

Random stop but so glad I did! Little hole in the wall, I got the Torta de Asada. So good and authentic with refried beans, thick slices of avocado plenty of jalapeño soft fresh telera bread and lots of well seasoned asada!

Good food, good people tried out their tacos and they were really good thank you for the food!

Carnita and Pastor St., Tacos the yellow salsa was bomb!

First time trying this place out I was told that it is authentic from Guadalajara. The salsas are all bomb!!! Carne Asada Fries was the best!!

(this review is written by my wife) happened to be in the area getting soul food when I noticed Mi Raz and not remembering a Mexican place in that spot before, I decided to make a detour and try it...and what a fantastic choice that was! Inside was clean and quaint looking and the salsa bar was well stocked and looked tantalizing. The owner was there and was very friendly and patient with my dietary request and very shortly after I found myself staring down one bite into the best super burrito I've ever had in Sacramento. This burrito was just perfect by any metric I could think of: thick burrito, outside tortilla slightly cooked in with cheese , actual inside layered perfectly so that the burrito didn't run together but yielded striating layers as expected, each flavor inside perfectly hot and tasty and then the final piece being the two amazing sauces from the bar that complimented the burrito. Which sauces? Well every one I tried was great, but specifically the super hot red one and the tomatillo sauce....just wow, I would buy a gallon of each if I could they were that good. Thank you to everyone working at Mi Raza! I already can't wait to come back

Got a breakfast burrito with asada that was flavorless. The salsa was great though, and the only reason I didn't just toss the thing out.

At this point it feels like bait and switch -- why put it on the menu if you never have it? The low rating is mainly for the young lady at the register. She was rude, spent the whole time whispering to a guy who works there and laughing while looking at me. Felt disrespected as a customer. Found Beto's down the street instead. Decent food, decent prices, and they actually serve what's on their menu. Won't be back. 2. Short + Punchy No tripas, lengua, or cabeza. Ever. 4 visits in 7 days. Zero times did they have tripas, lengua, or cabeza. Starting to think the menu is false advertising. Register girl was rude too -- whispering + laughing at me with her coworker/BF the whole time. Beto's down the street has better food, better prices, and no attitude. Go there instead. 3. Balanced but Firm Frustrating experience Food here can be okay when they have it, but the inconsistency is a problem. I came 4 times in one week hoping for tripas, lengua, or cabeza and was told they were out every single time. If you don't carry menu items regularly, take them off the menu. Service also needs work. The teen at the register was whispering to another employee and laughing while taking my order. Made me uncomfortable. Beto's down the street doesn't have these issues -- they stock what they advertise and the service is solid.

And I cannot express in words how excited I was for this location to open up a few years back. So if you're tired from shopping head on over to the restaurant for delicious tacos! Or drop in for taco Tuesday when their street tacos are a little over $2 each. I usually order the carnitas (drooling, has the right amount of soft and crispy bites), carne asada, shrimp and fish tacos! I have also tried the quesadilla which is packed with meat so there's bang for my buck. They put a good amount of meat on the tacos and toppings as well, so I get full pretty fast because of all the protein. Can't forget to mention the complimentary, fresh salsa bar with the grilled onions and jalapeños! The chips are mostly fresh, I have gone on some days where it appears and tastes like the chips were double fried and stale. But overall, on most days, the chips are warm and fresh. The staff are friendly, hard-working and they keep the place spotless and clean! It's a taqueria I have gone to several times in the past and will keep going back to for the refreshing margaritas, yummy tacos and excellent customer service. FYI- I believe they offer slightly lower prices if you pay with cash versus paying with card so it might be a helpful thing to know for people who carry cash.

The seasoning on both the asada and the pork with pineapple is amazing. They have the pork on the spinning thing so it's super juicy. The asada has a flat grill char. It's just so tasty. I tried the baked potatoes for the first time at this location and it was a little bland but they add packets of salt. I got home and added things to my liking and it's one of my favorite meals. It's a nice looking place inside, especially considering its general location. They were busy even at an off hour mid-week, but I can see why because the food is great and so is the atmosphere. My first visit, I tried the following: Enchilada Verde (Lunch Menu), Mini Birria Tacos (Lunch Menu), and Nachos de la Casa (with asada). They also brought out complimentary chicharrones de harina, which was especially nice because I was super hungry! My second visit I had the following: Queso Con Rajás Dip, Los Favoritos, and the Burrito de Carnitas (Lunch Menu). I ended up liking the nachos way more than the queso. I wasn't expecting the queso to just be the consistency of slightly melted cheese. I also wish they were a bit more generous with the chips since I ran out of chips way sooner than the dips. No complaints on my main dish portions though! Really loved most things I've tried. The presentation of my dishes I've ordered here, the Enchilada Verde and the Burrito de Carnitas, was great too. The chicken was just slightly too dry for the Enchilada, but the flavor made up for it. Only complaint is while the service was nice, it was SO slow both times I've been here. It took forever to get the check and when they did bring out the card reader you can't see the receipt, only a total. Then their lowest automatic tipping button is set at over 22% (with two higher percent options), which is honestly crazy to me since most places start at around 18%. I way overtipped on accident the first time I came. I think it's highly likely they get overtipped for this reason, which is nice for them but kind of not fair to the customer. I'll continue to return!

The nachos contained tomato, onion, cilantro, guacamole, jalapenos, radishes, carne asada, and cheese under fresh tortilla chips. This is the first time I've been to a restaurant that served complimentary chicharrones de harina. Chicharrones de harina are a Mexican snack that are made from fried wheat flour.
