We got a flat tire on our road trip and got stuck in Stuart for a night, this place happened to be right across from the hotel we were staying at, we walked in and the girl asked if we had reservations but the place was empty, we said no and she said no problem and sat us, at first we thought it was a bit pricey but the minute we tasted the food we realized it was sooooo worth it!!! My husband had the chicken Marsala and LOVED it, took some back to the hotel and finished it a couple hours later, I am still dreaming about my carbonara that I couldn't finish and my mom had the lobster ravioli almandine(?) Pretty little place with good food. This restaurant is tiny and difficult to walk in and get seated at your table. It is decorated nicely and was packed when we were there. It is very loud, so much so the waitress had a difficult time hearing our questions and our order. She was also not very familiar with the foods on the menu. The portions were large and in a few cases extremely garlicky (bread, pasta, broccoli). We will likely not visit again due to the tight space and noise for just ok service & food at a high price. This restaurant is a 5-star restaurant in Stuart! The food was fresh and wonderfully prepared. Our server Frank was exceptional, probably one of the best we have had in the Treasure Coast Area... The only reason I gave it a 3-1/2 star rating was the greeting, or lack of greeting we received from the hostess. Couldn't be bothered to smile or look us in the eye when we arrived. She was too busy reading and replying to her personal text messages. As locals in the area, we have patronized the Lost River Rd. Location for several years. Dominic, the owner, always went out of his way to make sure we knew that he valued our business. The food was always a treat as well. Since opening their new location on Federal Hwy., both the service and the quality have been sliding down hill, not dramatic, but noticeable to the way it used to be. Two weeks ago we ordered 3 Salmon salads (take out) which are usually pretty good. This time the salad did not even cover the bottom of the aluminum dish. The fish portions were fine, but very little on the greens. Tonight, we call in to place an order....placed on hold without the opportunity to speak. "LaForchetta, Hold please. Click"....seven minutes later "La Forchetta, Hold Please, click". We call back 5 mins. Later and same thing. My wife finally gets a word in and asks to speak with the mgr. She gets Dominic's daughter.. My wife tells her about the experience and the daughter begins to argue with my wife. We are done. We have always had good experience with Mario's and will spend our weekly pizza dollars there. read more

We started with the Calamari Saltati and the sauce was amazing and the calamari was perfect! My husband had the Veal Saltimbocca Florentine which he raved about with a side of minestrone soup that was delicious. Our friends had Eggplant Parmigiana with pasta and a salad and Chicken Giovanni! I went with the Apple, Walnut & Gorgonzola Salad with chicken and that was great! Honestly it was a 25 mile drive for us but worth it! I did make a reservation so we were guaranteed to be seated. The food is really very good. The menu shows a choice of soup or salad with an entree. However, when we ordered, the server said, " Would you like a salad or soup for a $1.00 upcharge?"Tables are very close together, and the noise level is such that we had trouble hearing each other. They overbook and will tell you upon arrival that most diners wait up to 30 minutes or more. So why have a reservation? We ordered the eggplant parmigiana and mussels marinara, but were served sausage and peppers as well as mussels fra Diablo. Itbgnen took another 45 minutes to get our correct order, watching people that ordered after we returned our incorrect orders get their food before us. I've been here twice now. Having lived in Jersey for the last 6 years, I'm always skeptical about eating Italian when I travel outside the pizza belt. But my parents quelled my anxieties when they informed me this place was owned by an Italian family from Freehold. Six of us went here on a Friday night. We made a 7:00 reservation and I'm glad we did. The place was packed, and I quickly learned why. The Sicilian, which we ordered with sausage, mushroom, and pepperoni, was by far the best pizza I've ever had in the state of Florida. $17.25 plus $1.75 for each topping, and we ended up taking some of it home. Very reasonable price considering how full we were upon departure. We wanted fried calamari, but they don't just have fried calamari on the menu. The closest thing was fried calamari, plus fried shrimp and scallops ($14). Good enough. The marinara wasn't bad. Chunky, which I like, but kind of watery, which I don't like. I can't vouch for the artichoke francese ($11) because the rest of my party devoured it before I got a taste. The cannoli ($3.25 each) were delicious! I specifically asked if they were filled to order and Jason the waiter didn't BS me. The shell was nice and crisp. I even gave it the flick test and hurt my finger in the process. Ouch! But the kind of pain I like! As for the filling, I thought the flavor and consistency were spot on, but some people in my group complained of a potential overdose of cinnamon. I ordered an espresso with dessert. Tasted fine to me, and even better after I asked for a lemon rind. Toward the end of our dinner, the manager approached our table and asked us to lower our voices after receiving a complaint from another table. She made a reference to the acoustics of the restaurant as the reason for the exacerbation of the loud environment, which prompted me to wonder how this problem was supposed to be our problem. We were in a room with only two other tables and it was clear which one complained. It certainly wasn't the party of 8 behind us, but rather the couple giving us dirty looks during our meal while their kids were running around their table creating all kinds of noise. Considering we were almost done eating, I'm not sure that's how I would have handled the situation. If it were me (and I once was a restaurant manager), I most likely would have apologized to the couple for the acoustics and offered to have them move to another table. If I felt like being nasty, I might tell them not to bring their kids out so late. I digress ... All told, the total came to $176 for 6 of us, tip included, but we did order a bottle of Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio for $45, which I know retails for about $20. Not a bad markup. I would have liked a more expansive bottled wine list, but I acknowledge there's probably not enough demand for it in the area. Side note: If you go here, ask for Jason. He is an outstanding waiter who clearly knows the menu and stays on top of his game without being pushy, annoying or overwhelming. Because we had a semi-positive first experience here, we came back a second time. On this go-around, the server/kitchen totally botched my order. I went with the swordfish special which was supposed to be served with risotto and broccolini. I should have known something was wrong when our server asked me if I wanted pasta or mashed since my dish already came with risotto. I opted for the penne, then thought to myself, "carb overload." Well, needless to say, the swordfish came out only with the pasta. No risotto. No broccolini. When I asked our server about the sides that were supposed to come with my dish, she brought no broccolini, but a good portion of risotto, which honestly tasted like bagged Lipton's broccoli and cheese rice heated up in the microwave. Worse, the sauce they poured all over the swordfish caused the breading to get all soggy, leaving me perplexed as to what could have possibly went wrong here. The sad part is that swordfish isn't even on their regular menu. So they either ran out of broccolini or the server simply forgot to offer a substitute. read more

Small family-run restaurant, great food..... This was our first time here so we didn't know what to expect, but were told by our friends and other Yelp reviewers that it is a small place. It is small and cozy, nothing fancy, but I felt like I was sitting at someone's grandma's house and that's a good thing. There were two sections, one being by the bar. There was also seating outdoors, in the front of the restaurant, near parking. Still nice in good weather. The staff was very friendly and the woman, I'm thinking owner, greeted us immediately and she gave us a description of some of the special dishes. We were told that The Fra Diavolo would not have the sea bass, as usual, so they were replacing it with a lobster tail. Great substitution! Three of us ordered the Fra Diavolo and loved it. Not very spicy hot, but delicious. It included a whole lobster tail, huge shrimp, scallops, mussels, and clams.Three different pastas were ordered and they were all cooked to perfection: linguine, fettuccine, and angle hair. The dish was only $24 which was much cheaper than elsewhere considering the fish included. And all of our dishes came with either a small house salad or Pasta e Fagioli which was a nice surprise since it was included for the same price. I ordered a similar dish, thinking the Diavolo would be too hot. It was the Rigatoni with lobster, clams and mussels. It also was delicious and I enjoyed every bite. My dish did not include shrimp or a whole lobster tail, so I was a little disappointed, but the clams and mussels were cooked perfectly and it was only $21. We will definitely go back. I'd like to try a few of their other dishes. I didn't give it the full 5 stars due to the location and size, but the food was 5 star delicious!
