This is not your regular pizza joint. It is actually a very good Italian food eatery. Great food at reasonable prices. It has a daily lunch menu specials that is served with one of their delicious soups. If you are on a diet, there are plenty of healthy and calorie-conscious choices to enjoy. To date I have never had a bad meal there and I usually go there for lunch at least once a week. The only negative thing that I ever experienced was a less than professional young waitress, but she did not last. read more

I have the meatball parm sub and it was the worst. The meatball's were not homemade but frozen out of a bag. The meatball's were tasteless , the bread/roll fell apart from the sauce and the sauce was sweet, I guess too much added sugar. Great food! The menu is unique which is important in this area with so many Italian restaurants. With their one of a kind menu and reasonable prices, I think this place will be here for awhile. My only gripe is that every time the door opened, a rush of cigarette smoke swooped in. That's a bit unpleasant. Find a way to control that and you'll get a 5-star rating. read more

Went for lunch and was disappointed. Took forever and we ordered off lunch "specials". People came in after us and received their food before us. Finally waved down waitress and she said "I just checked on it, it will be right out". 10 minutes later, we got it. almost a full half hour after ordering. We had a problem getting the waiter's attention and even asked the woman cleaning the tables to get her for us. When she told her, the waitress STILL didn't come over but went to clean up plates on another table. I ordered my own to go food. The food was good but the wait and frustration makes it a BAD lunch spot if you have to get back to work. read more

We live on Picatinny Arsenal which does not allow delivery to the residential area. La Forchetta is the only place we are willing to drive out for because it is consistently good! When we have relatives over they always ask for this food and we have liked every single thing we have tried. Even the gluten free pasta tastes good! And their sauce! If they just dump it out of a can I'd be surprised, it tastes like homemade and even has roasted garlic cloves in it. The pizza is really good, too. Even my very picky 3 year old eats two large pieces and is silent the whole time, he loves it! The prices aren't bad considering the quality of the sauce. We usually spend about $10 per person which is really good considering it is so expensive to live here. read more

Had such a fantastic meal there last evening! My friend and I went out to dinner and a movie so we didn't have a whole lot of time to linger. The place is very quaint and don't let the fact that it's in a strip mall deceive you. It's a nice atmosphere inside and there are plenty of tables with comfortable chairs. Traditional Italian menu with casual selections offered as well. I ordered the stuffed shells and my friend got the shrimp fra diavolo. Both came with fresh warm bread and house salads that were great - fresh ingredients and the house dressing was delicious. My meal was excellent. Generous portion, homemade sauce that was great tasting and really, even though it is a traditional and even simple dish, I rarely order something like this out, because I know mine is so good. But I was just really in the mood for it and the restaurant had that Sunday Dinner aroma so I went for it and I'm so glad I did! My friend loved her meal too. Service was excellent. We told our waiter that we were trying to catch a movie and our food came out in no time. I can't wait to come back with my husband on our next date night. read more

They will make me any flavor GF pizza I ask for; and they even had GF breadcrumbs on hand last week and made me a GF Chicken Parm - I was in Heaven!! The sandwiches are great, and creative. My favorite thing is that their sausage pizza is made with crumbled sausage, not sliced sausage. That's a first in this area. And I really like it. It makes a big difference. I'm glad I found them again. read more

La Forchetta has fast become my favorite local restaurant. To call this place a pizzeria is huge injustice. The food is so much more. I typically don't eat Italian out often because no one's food ever stands up to my mom and grandmother's cooking. However, Joe's cooking is just like mom and grandma's. It's never overdone/over-complicated. It's just simple delicious Italian food made with fresh QUALITY ingredients. I stop in for dinner about once a week--because it's THAT good. Plus, the ambiance is lovely and Joe and his family are wonderfully warm people. It's always a pleasure to chit chat with them and enjoy a delicious meal! read more
