I just wasn't impressed by the pizza. I went with a buffalo chicken slice and the garlic knots. It looked pretty, but lacked for aroma. As I ate, I found the chicken dry and the buffalo sauce hot, without a very long spice profile. They warmed it in the store for my lunch dine-in experience, but for so long that I had to wait for it to cool. The garlic knots were bready - rather than soft or moist - and lacking in garlicky punch. Inside are some basic perfunctory tables to seat perhaps 2-3 parties of up to 4. On a Thursday at lunchtime, myself and two older gentlemen were the diners, and one gent came in to place a to-go order. had a really disappointing experience at Denville Pizza. My brother went to pick up our order while we were at Flannel Fest at Diamond Spring Co., (always a great time yall should go if you haven't )where the signal was really bad(cause of a huge crowd trust me go you'll get fomo if you don't ). The person before him just said a name and walked out with their food, no problem. But when my brother -- a young Hispanic male -- tried to do the same, he was asked to confirm and show his order. It was frustrating and embarrassing to see that kind of double standard. No one should be treated differently because of how they look. To make things worse, when we finally got the food, the pizza was cold and honestly pretty mid -- especially for someone coming from the NYC area where the pizza bar is much higher. The sauce lacked flavor, and the whole experience just left a bad taste overall. After all that hassle, it was double disappointing. Definitely not coming back. I love their pizza, they used to make the pepperoni pies with the small diameter pepperoni, now they use the normal size like everyone else, the small ones were so much better. So the five stars are for how it used to be, lol, but it's still the best pie in town, in my opinion, their chicken parm sandwich is huge and awesome, and cheap. It used to be $6, I'm sure it's more now but it's worth it. And there's just something about hearing them yelling at each other in Italian that makes the place that much more special. read more

Our waitress was very sweet and accommodating to our needs, especially since there were 8 of us! I really loved their tomato and basil pizza. I'm new to the area and hadn't found a go-to pizza spot until trying out this spot on super bowl Sunday. Though I no longer order my pizzas from Denville Pizzeria (only because they didn't deliver for such a long time...and I'm not sure if they even do now), I always enjoy dining here in their main restaurant. The walls of the dining room are covered with a lovely mural depicting the Italian countryside, and the lighting is nice and low...perfect for a Friday night date. The food is good...though the service is often slow (mostly, I think, due to the fact that there is often no one in the dining room...and the wait staff would rather be scarce than overbearing). While I've had pizza from Denville pizzeria throughout the years, I can honestly say I've never stopped in for just a slice. That all changed earlier this week when I was in the area if needed a quick bite to eat. And on Monday around lunchtime it wasn't too crowded and the service was fast and friendly. You can't go wrong at a place that the great Yankee Joe DiMaggio called the best! They have a wall decorated with all the famous people that stopped by and said this pizza is the best. Denville Pizzeria has been in the heart of Denville for decades and while other pizza places have shut down... this little gem has withstood it all and keeps on going. Some people think the owner is a jerk. He's one of the nicest person there is. He is well known in the town too. He's rough around the edges but is never mean. Close to I-80. We ate here because Thai Chef a few doors down couldnt seat 5 of us right away. This place is BYOB with huge portions of uniformly flavored food. Nothing to write home about or recommend though it will satiate you if you can stomach it. The bread and butter were very good. And the fries. The pastas and salads were not so much (penne a la vodka, alfredo, lasagna...) Didnt try the pizza but thats what they do well, apparently. There is a kids menu. read more

LOVE East coast pizza. This place is a favorite of ours every time we come back to New Jersey. We don't have good East coast style pizza in California, and every time we come here, Denville pizzeria delivers. The dough is delicious, the sauce is great, and the cheese and pepperoni is awesome. Stopped by for lunch on a bike ride from Oakland. Had never eaten here before. The place was empty (COVID-related), the two Italian men in the kitchen looked happy to see us, and we ordered some slices to take out and eat in the lot next door (social-distancing) on this lovely May day. Boy, was that pizza good! I had a mushroom slice and an eggplant slice, earning a free can of soda (Pepsi for me) for ordering two slices. The crust was nicely thin and crispy, the toppings flavorful, the sauce mild--all in all, I had a delightful lunch, and I'll certainly be coming here again when in the area. When I told my wife about the pizza, she was eager to take a ride to Denville just to try it, which I'm sure we'll do before long. I heartily recommend the pizza and want to try some of the entrees soon. read more

Where do I start, the food was excellent and the portions are very big. You can see, smell and taste the quality of ingredients they use. I have three children who are pizza lovers but extremely picky. They love Denville Pizzaria's pizza. We now order from them at least once a week. My go to pizza restaurant. Denville Pizza is family owned and operated. The owners are good people with integrity. It was one of the first places I ate at as a kid and the pizza is my favorite (almost 30 years later). I've worked at many pizza shops over the years and i've had even more pizza -Denville Pizza takes the cake. The chicken parm pizza is great, the pepperoni is very thin and delectable, and the margarita is the best around. My family used to come here a lot for birthdays, not so much anymore since we found out my little sister has Celiacs, but nevertheless the place is always very clean, and while the food may not be the world's finest, it's good solid food, tasty and filling. The owners/managers of the place have amazing customer service, the help they hire seem to be pretty good too, that's the selling point for me. For example, once they had to close up early and were unable to serve me as I got there just as they were closing, so the next time I was in they made up for it when they didn't have to(in my opinion, life happens) and I've been more than happy to just stick with them. My only complaint is I miss the arcade machine they used to have but it's been gone for over 20 years now so I don't think it's coming back now and that's understandable these days. XD read more

Always sat across the street from this place at Starbucks and saw a lot of take out and deliveries going in and out .. So we stopped in there tonight on the restaurant side. Greeted by a very large plant and was told to sit wherever.. The restaurant was very clean. The waitress came over after a respectful time and asked for out drink order and food order.. Then the server or runner came over with a 1/2 a loaf of bread for two... All other tables had full loaves... Ok well we are only two and I guess a lot of people don't eat bread and butter .. Out comes our appetizer of garlic bread with mozzarella .. Lotsa garlic ... Then a few minutes later our entrees come out .. I had the sausage and spaghetti the BF has spaghetti and meatballs ... Food was OK the sauce was a little sweet for me and bland.. I was wondering why the table next to us asked for garlic in the Mariana .. It could have used it .. Meatballs were baked in the oven and drizzled with sauce .. Bland .. Sausage was typical Italian sausage .. Would I go back ... Not really..
