My wife and I were out shopping, and we decided to patronize La Fountain for a quick dinner. My wife ordered the small combo plate, and I had the Carnitas Burrito. I also enjoyed the Tuesday Margarita Special (rocks, salt), and my wife had the Strawberry lemonade. We were waited on by Nallely. Overall, it was OK, but nothing really to write home about. Nice clean and new venue, and pretty average food. A pretty nice selection from the menu, which was nice to see. That, and good service. Three Stars for "OK everything." It was an amazing dinner we had, I had 2 enchiladas one cheese and one chicken and my hubby had tamales de chile verde con queso. We share the churros as well, we came with our daughter who is one years old. Very good restaurant, food is amazing, family orientated. Music and atmosphere was amazing as well. The place is very nice. This is my second time eating Mexican food here in Utah and I was expecting a little bit more but interior appearance may be deceiving. Food 3/3 I ended up getting four Al Pastor tacos with a Pina agua fresca. The tortillas were very dry and overcooked. The flavor of the meat wasn't so explosive the way I'm used to it had all the ingredients typical for this type of taco, including the pineapples. The meat was not tender. It was pretty hard and overcooked. The pina agua fresca tasted like Dole pineapple juice from the can which threw me off since usually these drinks are very freshly made and taste so delicious, but not this one.. they did make my tacos look very beautiful and presentable.. that's about it. Service 5/5 in first glance see everyone working and taking care of their tables with smiles and greeting everyone that comes into the door, which I love. The woman who served me at the register was extremely polite and I was pretty indecisive on which tacos I should get and she suggested to get the ones I ordered. Ambience 5/5 the restaurant was very spacious. It wasn't overcrowded even though I arrived at an early time we're not many people are out if they're all working, but I have beautiful Mexican art Aztec Warriors, vibrant colors and a warmth in the lighting that was very inviting... I didn't try any of their other dishes. Maybe next time I'll try something different on their menu. Not the best mexican fajitas ive ever had but they were good. I find it funny sour cream comes in packets priced by the packet. The chips and salsa was mediocre, chips didnt seem warm or fresh and the salsa was largely diced veggies in a water sauce very much unlike most other mexican restaurant salsas which is a uniform paste. The fajitas were a large portion but unless you are a veggie lover like me you may be dissatisfied with the meat portions. The steak was surprisingly excellent minus a lil piece of gristle. The chicken was bomb. The star of the show was the dessert plate, deep fried ice cream and churros for under 9$. My waitress was pretty good and very friendly and the restaurant was an empty ghost town. My stomach hurt the next day so id probablt try another restaurant next time but La Fountain was nearby my airbnb soni walked over and tried it. No regrets. read more

One night, I stumbled across La Fountain, where my dreams came true. I will proudly say that La Fountain is the absolute best restaurant for smothered burritos. I ordered the chili verde smothered burrito and was amazed at how smothered it was. It was the most delicious smothered burrito I've ever had in my life. I can't even begin to explain how excited and satisfied I was. This is the smothered burrito I have been searching for for many years, and I finally found it. Aside from the heavenly smothered burrito, everything else was perfect too. The chips and salsa were a delightful start. The margarita I ordered was huge and very tasty. I'm excited to come back and try the other margaritas. The service was exceptional too. Our server was very kind, caring, and attentive. I truly felt at home here. Two of us decided to pop in for a late lunch on a weekend and were excited to see that it wasn't very busy. We heard decent things about the La Fountain in Tooele, so we thought it was worth checking out. The menu has most of the usual suspects. Service was fine, but unfortunately our food was not good. I'm not sure if it was an off day for them or not, but we were super disappointed. Both of us barely touched our plates and declined boxes. My favorite is their Chili Verde Chicken or Ground Beef Smothered Burrito, my husband likes their Chicken Chimichanga. Also there is a drive thru if you want to call and order for pickup order to order if you feel like taking food home. When we've eaten there, it's been clean, and the wait time was a little long, but not out of the ordinary for a restaurant whom is always very busy, while driving by, eating in, or going thru the drive thru, just order ahead, and they've been ready at the time there told us every time. I would have easily given 4 stars, however there are too many easy to correct mistakes.. The service was excellent, the food.. unloved, the dining room large and lovely, yet unoccupied. Their pre-cooked product that they purchase is high quality, though unseasoned, and it seems they forgot to season it themselves.. Everything was bland and flavorless, though I thoroughly enjoyed my meal due to their homemade salsa, which was spicy and delicious. I drenched all my food in that salsa to add flavor. Also.. I find it a nuisance when there are olives in the cuisine, WTF!? Olives are from an entirely different region of the world.. I understand this isn't authentic cuisine, but why olives!? Again I have to say that our table service was some of the best I've had, absolutely superb. To summarize my meal, I can easily tell that most of what comes out of the kitchen is pre packaged, not a whole lot of food prep happens, which is compensated by great quality product. They need to season their dishes as everything was completely and utterly bland. They have too large of a menu in my opinion, and I feel that compromises the detail to each dish. We visited La Fountain for lunch last week, and it was very disappointing. Despite it being lunch during a workday, we were seated right away. Now I understand why. La Fountain is horrible. I ordered the shredded beef enchiladas with refried beans and Mexican rice. Everything was incredibly bland and under seasoned. This is among the worst Mexican food I've ever had. Any of the five-star reviews for La Fountain are without question fake. Lots of parking around building. Came here for lunch with my fellow workers. There was 14 of us for lunch and we got right in. The staff came and took our drink orders right away. The food came out in a reasonable time for the amount of people here. I got the daily special which was the small combination. The flavors was decent but very mild. I like more favor and heat. The chips are seasoned which was nice but the salsa is very blended and not chunky at all. More like thick hot sauce. We had a softball game across the road tonight and we were starving, craving Mexican food. This was close and convenient. The service was good. Cool young kids, very friendly and attentive. The place is super clean and feels real traditional. The food....hmm. Well, I must say the red chili sauce was on point. It was super flavorful and the color in that chili was beautiful. You can see the tiny pieces of red chilies - love it! The rice and beans were on point. However, the chili pork platter I had didn't have pork meat in it. Well, it had two pieces of pork. The young man was nice enough to bring me a side dish of red chili pork. I don't think the pork in the side dish was cooked in the sauce. It tasted like they ran out of pork meat and just dumped boiled pork in the sauce. I would have been ok if they told me they ran out of the dish instead of having the side dish of "red chili pork". My friend had the loaded French fries and they were dry and the fries were over cooked. The chimichanga was good but the pork was bland. Maybe the cook was off with the pork tonight??? Very good if you know what you're getting into. Fast Mexican food that tastes pretty good. Clean place with delicious salsa! If you're in a rush grab a smothered burrito with cheese. Fajitas are a ton of food and taste great! Just know you're not here for fancy high class food. It's Mexican so you'll probably shit your pants later but I'd recommend giving it a shot. Glanced at the menu as if I was even considering ordering something other than what I had come for. Smothered Burritos, not sure what the deal is but these restaurants have all different names but they all have the same recipe for smothered burritos. Perhaps I am a a fan of this recipe and a fan of the restaurants that do it right. This place does it right! I give this place five stars and I send you here with these words of wisdom. If it is your first time do yourself a favor and order the smothered burritos. This recipe is just impossible to not enjoy. Take the stress out of your lunch/dinner break/date and just say "smothered burritos please." These restaurants like to serve the food with the plate hot so don't make the rookie mistake of touching the plate when it comes out. They always give you fair warning that the plate is hot anyways. Great smothered burritos! They add good cheese too. The only downside my kids had beef burritos, some of the hamburger was very pink, light pink and dark pink. We did carry out, and I had to cook my kids something else because we didn't have the time to go back. It also made it hard to enjoy the food with fully cooked meat, I questioned the cleanliness, safety, and quality of all our meals at that point. They have plenty of seething, which is great if you don't like to be jammed among a bunch of strangers. First bite of the salsa let me know ilI wasn't about to be let down. I don't mean to be offensive, but this is some of the worst Mexican food I've ever had. I ordered a large combo plate to sample as much as I could. It had a cheese enchilada, burrito, tostada, taco, rice and beans, chicken, and a tortilla. The cheese enchilada was ok. It had cheese in it, and had an earthy red sauce. The burrito was terrible. It was basically a loosely folded cylinder dripping and oozing bland, flavorless pink sauce that served only to whet the tortilla and cover up overcooked chicken. It was so loosely packed, it might as well have not been on the plate. The taco was filled with what I could call sloppy joe mix, mashed into a consistency matching mud. It was very unexciting and the texture of the filling totally did not stand up to the texture of the crunchy taco shell. It was also covered with so much lettuce that it could have been a side salad. The tostada was basically a flat fried tortilla covered with the same taco filling goop, cheese and lettuce. The burrito was served on top of the toastada in a way that j didn't even know the tostada was there at first, and all the lettuce became a soggy and wilted mess. The rice was ho-hum, uncle bens quality Mexican rice. The beans were acceptable, but nothing to write home about. The rice and beans had more of the bland overcooked chicken and flavorless pink sauce on it. The food I had here is what I imagine a high school cafeteria manager or rest home chef would come up with for a Mexican Night menu. It was absolutely flavorless, swimming in sauce, and just not even worth trying. I would rather have had a Tina's frozen burrito. read more

I'm leaving this review due to our poor service. We eat here quite frequently and typically don't have a any problems. We came in for dinner. Our server was Lucy. We didn't get our drinks refilled once, she was a bit put off, so to speak when asking for more chips and salsa. Ordering fajitas, she didn't give the option for corn or flour tortillas. Then charged us, for requesting corn tortillas afterwards. It's really annoying, and creates a terrible experience when this type of thing happens. More should take cues From Carlos customer service- he used to own the La Fountain downtown. Top notch service these other restaurants could benefit from. read more

This restaurant is our go to for family outings, quick dinners and times we don't want to cook. Their food is always good! The one time I got the wrong thing I ordered it was better than what I would have ordered and they still comped the check. The servers are extremely friendly and work their butts off!
