Super cozy cute place. A little hard to get to, doesn't look like a bar and it is upstairs from a coffee shop. Records all over and a huge stereo system behind the bar, really vibes I loved it. This is a nice local spot for cocktails. Usually pretty quiet. The house cocktails are made nicely but definitely need more liquor. Blame it on utah liquor laws. Next time I will ask for a "long pour" because some just taste like juice. The food here is really good. I love the sandwiches and the hummus and pita. Great spot for first dates. I found myself in the area with about an hour to kill on a Friday night. Having previously driven by, I was curious about this strangely located cocktail bar, so I pulled into the parking lot to give it a try. I knew it was upstairs, but from the outside, it was not clear where to enter. I first tried the outside stairs that led to the patio, but was greeted with a locked gate and a few strange looks from patrons inside. I turned around, headed back down and decided to give the coffee shop door a try. Sure enough, it was open (the door, not the coffee shop-that was clearly closed). Still no signage to lend any clue on where to go, but deductive reasoning told me to try the stairs. It felt very much like an office building and I was on my way to the break room. I found myself in the entrance of the bar, greeted only by a sign that told me to seat myself and someone would be with me shortly. There were table top QR codes that invited me to check out the menu, which I did while I waited for someone to come out from behind the counter area. I didn't see a bartender, server or any staff member for several minutes. There were two other tables with occupants, and they were enjoying drinks, so I knew I was in the right place. A few minutes later, a nice young lady cheerfully greeted me and took my order. I got the hummus and pita along with a glass of chardonnay. (I know I'm at a cocktail bar and should have been more adventurous, but I was feeling wine that night.) The appetizer and wine came out very quickly, along with a glass of still water (my favorite!!) that was kept topped off during my visit. Service was friendly and laid back-not overly aggressive. Behind the bar, I noticed lots of vinyl records, which I assumed to be what I heard being played. The music was rock, but not being played too loudly, which I appreciated. It's a cool collection of records, and I'm sure vintage music collectors would be impressed. The food/appetizer menu is very small-don't come here to eat, you come here to have a nice drink or two. The outdoor patio looks cozy-I'd probably enjoy sitting out there on a slightly warmer evening, sipping on a cocktail and overlooking the Draper city lights. I'd also provide directions to patrons who, like me, were confused with how to enter. read more

Visited the first time right after they opened due to shut down from covid. The space doesn't have a great sign to see from the road so it was a little confusing to find which door to enter. I think there is three other businesses in the building. Anyway, it is upstairs. They had sanitizer for all and QR code menu only. The bartender wore a mask. We enjoyed our drinks. I had a pimms cup. Maybe a little on the expensive side but she took the time to make them right. Looks like the music is all vinyl. So we heard Fleetwood Mac during our visit which we loved. This is a unique little spot. It picked up shortly after we arrived and I noticed groups brought in their own games to play and desserts to eat. They are currently not offering table service, although there's inside and outside (upper level) seating. There didn't seem to be much selection for food, but there were plenty of beverages to choose from and it was clean with nice open space and great music. It was just one person at the bar making all the drinks and so I'm not sure that they're actually cooking food. The menu showed mainly hummus and other small bites. read more

The only downside about this place is the location. It's next to Harmon's and nothing else. Staff is super lovely and helpful, they recommended to me a really lovely drink that I wish I could remember the name of, but I think it had lavender? It was marvelous. Their menu doesn't have great variety, a lot of the drinks were very similar, so it's kinda a love it or hate it. I loved it. They were just the right amount of unique and funky with popularity flavors. It's a great date location. Very mellow, soft music (I hate going to a bar and it's so loud you can't speak over it), with just an easy going, relaxed vibe. Lots of different seating, great little nooks you can tuck away into for more private chats, and it was not really busy at all. Highly recommend, I think this one is a hidden gem. As a dedicated teetotaler, I'm not exactly the target market for this, or any other bar. But I'm a big fan of the owners of Seabird, and have watched their growing empire of really great local businesses as it spreads across the valley. I remember hearing about Seabird and wondering just how they would manage to navigate the ordinances to get a bar in Draper, Utah. So when it finally opened earlier this year, I had every reason to come check it out. The branding is superb, as I would expect from them. As others have stated, it's not exactly in the most intuitive location--it's on the second story of what looks like a commercial office building, so you just park and make your way up. That incredible logo faces you when you first enter and you know you've arrived. The interior is kind of IKEA-chic. A sultry bar it is not. There are a handful of tables and a wooden bench seat. The latter is where I spent most of my evening, and we were alone for most of the night. It's not like a sofa, or even a restaurant booth, where you nestle in; it's a little more cafe-like. We ordered a small charcuterie and if I'm not mistaken, there was a bit of local honeycomb on the plate. The cheese and foodstuffs were great, and I imagine they're probably working on the plating artistry. At any rate, as a non-drinker you're going to have a few options to choose from, and we sipped ginger beers to wash down the local cheese. I love most of all that it's a viny listening room. That's the kind of vibe I'm into. Not too loud, not too scene-y, and I think the only thing I'd like to see is maybe some lower lighting. Having a fireplace here would be a DREAM. It was still spring when I was here and it was a little chilly, but can you imagine the vibe with a fire in the winter? It's probably not possible or highly difficult to retrofit, but boy-howdy, it would be special for sure. The fellas behind the counter took great care of us, and were super chill with us. After a party left, we had the place to ourselves for a long time and they kept the music coming, checked in just enough to take care of us, and we had a great evening just talking and relaxing. One note--as I understand it, they close at midnight but the lights come back up at 11pm and that's when last call is. Their hands are tied, if I recall, due to local regulations. This is a bummer, for sure, but just plan ahead and get your drinks by 11pm. This is my kind of vibe. You'll have to weigh in on the drinks yourself, but it's a great place to go and have a conversation with friends or an after-dinner date. read more

In the vast desolation of the suburban Salt Lake Valley, there are but a handful of decent cocktail bars and I am happy to report that Seabird, located in Draper, is one of them. They have a small, but well-made selection of drinks. A limited food menu (cheese and charcuterie platters, sandwiches, dips) is available for noshing, but I'd like to see improvement in their selection. For example, the cheese plate consisted of three very bland cheddar-like selections when many more interesting options could easily be procured. Service was very good. The bartenders were welcoming and friendly. Prices were fair for the quality of food and drink. There seems to be ample parking in the lot abutting the bar. So why 3 stars rather than 5? I cannot help but compare Seabird to its peers downtown (Under Current, Post Office Place, Water Witch, Bar X, etc.) and next to those bars, Seabird falls short. The level of craftsmanship in the cocktails isn't as polished or sophisticated as at those downtown bars and their selection of spirits is pretty limited. The vibe of the bar was too much like a coffee shop---the seating was sterile and relatively uncomfortable, as though the bar was encouraging patrons not to linger too long. The lighting was also too bright---again, more reminiscent of a coffee shop than a cocktail bar. Still, Seabird is worth a visit if you're in the South Valley, as there is very little notable competition in that neck of the woods. read more

Interesting.. my boyfriend and I stopped by today for a quick cocktail. We had to meet some friends in 1 hour and figured we were try to find this "SeaBird" bar. Well.. there are no signs, no indication of where the bar is. It is right next to a cafe and it almost looks like you enter a library/hair salon/doctors cabinet. We were at first VERY confused by the concept. SeaBird doesn't look anything like a bar (plastic chair/tables just like a coffee shop), 1 bar and vinyls). But it really grew on us.. the concept is just so different and it is very interesting to have a cocktail in a bright, open, simple place. Cocktails were incredible! Have not tried the food but we really enjoyed our drinks. Give it a try if you are in the area! They just opened a SLC location. This will be our next stop! read more

I don't understand this place. Me and a couple friends arrived around 7pm, the bar was empty except for one guy sitting at the counter chatting with the bartender. The bartender handed us a menu and we started to walk to our table, then he said "don't take that, it's our only one" uhhhh this place was empty, can we just take a look and we will bring it back to you?? Even the guy at the bar said, "oh! they can use the QR code!" And the bartender said, "that's not updated." How about greeting customers with a friendly smile? A thanks for coming in! A have a seat and I'll be with you in a few minutes! It wasn't just us, a guy came in after us and bartender says "here's the menu, you need to order here. I don't server tables." We were giving him the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe he couldn't leave the bar unattended (since he was the only one there) but that wasn't it because as soon as we left, he left the bar to clear our table. Very unfortunate since this place is right by our house, we will be traveling a bit farther for drinks from now on. read more

I have been here upwards of 5 times now. Every time the drinks have been fantastic. I have never ordered off the menu and always do custom cocktails-each has been well balanced and complex. The drinks were not very good or enjoyable. We got a Moscow mule and an old fashioned, which are common drinks and when done well are so yummy. I tried another on the menu that was decent but wasn't thrilled about either of the drinks I had. The appetizer selection was interesting, but in my opinion, not anything one would crave or look forward to when going for a date night or to enjoy a drink with friends. I am in town for work with coworkers and would love the opportunity to rate this place on its food and atmosphere, however they literally do not allow phone calls. I was trying to call to ensure the could accommodate us before we took an Uber over and to see if they had live music. If you call, just know you will get an immediate message (not just one if it rings 5 times and no answer) and all they will tell you is if you have questions to come to the restaurant.... This is super disappointing because it appeared the be the only halfway decent adult spot south of downtown. To management - learn that not all your customers are locals. At least have your employees answer the phone, or allow a button to be pushed so you can be connected to someone. Also, the call wouldn't have been needed if the calendar on your website had been updated since January of 2020. Seems to be a severe lack of management at this place, or just complete apathy with respect to customer service, which is quite unfortunate since it appears to be the only halfway decent place south of downtown. read more

I am so excited Seabird is open! This relaxed, well lit, beautiful bar is just what Draper needed. Seabird is close to home and it is great not have to drive downtown for a good craft cocktail. Vinny was awesome and the records are fun too! Can't wait to visit again. Went back to Seabird and still had a wonderful time, the cheese board had a great variety and would have been fun to pair with wines. However, I was in the mood for a cocktail and the Verde was an exciting choice. Rosemary is smoked in the glass and is an awesome visual experience as well as a tasty drink. I would recommend it! I always order on the menu when a bar/restaurant has minimal options. I can't speak for how they do on the fly if you order a cocktail that's not on the menu, but the two drinks I ordered were spot on. The drinks I ordered - Oaxacan Old Fashioned and Whiskey Sour - were made quickly by bartenders that were super friendly and gave thoughtful recs when I asked for suggestion (I am always up for something new). Both were well mixed, beautifully presented, and - most importantly - tasted amazing. It'll be hard for me to want to wander from the OOF... I'm sure their spirit offerings will increase as they gain traction and have been open longer - more top shelf brands, variety, etc - but I experienced two GREAT drinks and will be back for more. read more
