Good authentic food . Good price and quantity . The food is filling that's for sure .

Had to get my cravings satisfied yesterday (Monday June 2, 2025)!!! I have been wanting this for a while but their lines are so long on Friday through Sunday because their food is so darn good. Their portions are huge!!!! Just paid $25 (unless it was $30) for this plate and it is a LOT of food to eat. @la.fritanganica (on Instagram) really is great and NOT selfish with the portions. Everything is clean and it is DELICIOUS. If I'm not eating here and am in Los Angeles, the only other place I'll go is PortoBancos. Anything else local to the South Bay is a NOOOOO! The restaurants around South Gate for Nicarguan food is trash. Go to La Fritanga. You won't be sorry. They are located in Compton off of Alameda, Alondra and Rosecrans on the street in front of Northgate market. This is the Puerco Asado plate. Nicaraguan food ¡¡¡Tenía que satisfacer mis antojos!!! He estado queriendo esto por un tiempo, pero sus colas son tan largas de viernes a domingo porque su comida es muy buena. ¡Sus porciones son enormes! Acabo de pagar 25 $ (a menos que fueran 30 $) por este plato y es MUCHO comida. @la.fritanganica realmente es genial y NO es egoísta con las porciones. Todo está limpio y es DELICIOSO. Love this place its fireeee, the gallo pinto has pieces of asada in it very very good. The Carne asada plate has the gallo pinto salad the pickled onions chilero,big o piece of fried cheese yummy yummy tajadas maduros sweet plantains and of course the Carne asada. The mixta plate is huge it includes chicken and pork also. The cacao is sweet and concentrated I took it home and watered it down a bit and made two portions out of it. The lines get long quick. But so Worth it they set up at 5pm Thursday thru Sunday. Thursday and Fridays are easier lines than the weekends. But like I said worth it. The people are nice also. Someone told my boyfriend (he's from Nicaragua) about this spot. It's a bit far from us, but we were nearby yesterday and decided to finally try it! Happy we did. The portions are pretty big! Definitely worth the price. We both got fritanga de asada. And some enchiladas. One cacao that was very yummy. I do wish they had a menu to make ordering easier, or maybe I just didn't see one posted. The chilero is ufff!! Spicy & good! The beef had that delicious Nicaraguan sazón. Only thing is that the maduro from my fritanga needed more cooking or maybe it just wasn't ready yet. But the staff is nice & they helped us find a spot to sit & eat. Definitely recommend. read more

Mediocre food, very expensive (prices higher than a restaurant), quality not the best. They are Lucky not to have competition and that Californians don't know what good food is. Greedy pricing, if the owner was smart they will serve less food, better quality for a cheaper, fair price. Too expensive for street food . Seating is limited youre literally sitting on the sidewalk. They run out of food quickly. The service is very disorganized. Even though you're standing in line in a certain order they will skip and take Other people's orders . Food is good. Just not willing to pay $45 to sit on the sidewalk in a busy street. There is better options for Nica food. If you're willing to spend a lot of money and sit in the street by all means go ahead and spend the cash. One more thing this is no menus for the food so if You're not familiar with Nica food. It's very confusing. read more

Cacao doesn't take like cacao. It tastes like chocolate Abuelita. It's really pricey for street food. I would rather eat at a nicaraguense restaurant for that price. Customer service is good though. read more
