Ive never had Nicaraguan food before but I drive by this restaurant almost every day. I decided to try it recently and it was decent. I have no idea what the cuisine is supposed to taste like but I kept an open mind and it was pretty good. I got the fritanga which is a huge plate with different types of meat (pork, beef, chicken), fried cheese, gallo pinto (a type of rice and beans) a salad, fried plantains and plantain chips. It was a huge portion which I liked. Overrall, it was decent. It lacked a bit of flavor and could used more salt, but i also don't have any prior experience with this cuisine. For all i know this is how it is supposed to be. A second thought i had while eating this, was that it tasted "healthier" than what I expected because it wasn't a salty as I originally expected. There is plenty of seating inside. Ambiance is nice. Easy to hold a conversation. Very friendly staff too!

Review #842 2025-014 Food Order: Pollo de Crema Jalapeño (chicken filet, Nicaraguan-style Jalapeno cream sauce, avocado, house rice, salad, tajadas), Unico Hibisco (hibiscus tea) Encanta Latin Grill, a hidden gem taking over the former Country Burger, serves Nicaraguan cuisine. I was hangry for some different & ELG popped up when I did a "hot & new" search. There wasn't much posted & no website, so I was grateful for Harrison Y's menu pics. I ordered the Pollo de Crema Jalapeño with a Unico Hibisco, & given a 20-min. pick-up time. I arrived a couple minutes early & waited another 10-mins; not sure of the delay since there's no other customers except a pair of guys halfway through lunch. The return trip to the office was quick so my lunch was still piping hot (temperature). The plate's serving was generous & that jalapeño cream sauce sounded & looked interesting, but didn't have too much chili heat. The Unico Hibisco offers a refreshing balance of sweet & tart to offset the heaviness of the chicken & cream sauce. I loved the tajadas (fried plantains), crisp crust & soft sweet banana interior. I ate the house salad first as it doesn't pair well with the entrée & other side. The sauce is absorbed by the rice as well as adding flavor... nom, nom, nom. The Pollo de Crema Jalapeño tantalizes your palate with tender, savory, creamy goodness! It's a concentrated menu with offerings for all meal times: breakfast, lunch, & dinner. Price points are fair? I don't have other local Nicaraguan restaurants for comparison, but the serving was generous so I had leftovers for a second meal. The dining room is spacious with mostly 2- & 4-tops. While there's no signage, you can't missed the bright light orange building with bright blue shingled roof. Since it's not a shared space, there's plenty of parking available no matter the time of day. Service is friendly & accommodating, but there's a slight communication gap due to their soft opening (my review is delayed... I dined here last May) & POS system set-up. My first Nicaraguan venture & it was magnificent... run, don't walk to Encanta Latin Grill! Recommended: Pollo de Crema Jalapeño (get this yumminess!) & Unico Hibisco.

***** We stop again on our way to the beach area. The food still delicious as the first time we visited. Service is excellent as usual. Tasty Nicaraguan cuisine for sure!

Torrance Food Crawl #436 I enjoy experiencing restaurants that offer foods that I haven't tried before. Encanta Latin Grill emphasizes Nicaraguan dishes, or, at least, has a Nicaraguan spin on common 'south of border' items. This brings forth a problem as I don't think I've previously had any Nicaraguan foods, and while the food here might be the best possible representation of Nicaragua, I don't know. What I do know is that each of my visits here has been a positive experience. The first item I had here was the El Chancho con Yuca (Yuca and Pork). Sauteed pork cutlets on yucca slices, with vegetables on top. The dish comes with a side of Nicauragan slaw, all served on a banana leaf. Different from what I've seen at other restaurants, but good. The Indio Viejo was a stew with beef, maize, tomatoes, onions, and spices. Very good. It came with a side of rice (rather dry) and plantains (starchy but good). The Tacos Nicaragunese were different than what I expected. The tacos were shaped more like flatuas but were fine. They were topped with a Nicaraguan slaw and what was described as Latin-style sour cream and tomato sauce, but seemed more like mayonnaise and ketchup to my tastes. Breakfasts have been very good. The Huevos Ranchero had a different spin, with sides of red beans, white rice, avocado, cheese, and tortillas. The Solchichas Sarositas made for a great breakfast burrito, loaded with potatoes and the typical stuff. Service has been good, however, most of the servers have difficulty with English so communicating can be a slow process.

I orders jalapeño chicken plate - super good

Tostadillas and tacos are super delicious! I also love the cheese corn cookies they sell.

Inside of a Nicaraguan burrito. 8/25/24

Was in the neighborhood and decided to get the hubby a Nicaraguan burrito! Chose beef as the protein. The burrito has a thin tortilla with seasoned beef, beans, rice, pico de gallo (tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice) and sour cream inside. I tried it and it's tasty! Was informed that there was not "heavy" feeling in the tummy after consumption. This visit was in late August on a weekend. Everyone inside is welcoming and hospitable. I had an ice water while I was waiting for my to-go order. The restaurant itself is very clean and has a couple of flat screen tvs on the wall. The former occupant was once Country Burger. If you are missing the local burger spot that used to be here, Encanta listed burgers on their menu. Encanta is A-OK! Might be back if I want to explore more Nicaraguan food. :)

    Enchilada fritanguera

I LOVEEEE Nicaraguan food so you know I had to try out this new place. Happy to say: BOMB DOT COM! Waitress was super nice and patient since I didn't know Spanish and 1 plate (the carne asada) was big enough for both me and my sister to share. Also I didn't ask the waitress for extra (empty) plates but she had brought them out for us anyways without even having to ask. I know that's probably not a big deal but in my eyes, that was very kind of her. Also the cacao was *chefs kiss* Some things that stuck out to me was the carne asada. Was super juicy & flavorful and it did have bits of fat but not that much. Cacao was super good, def will be coming back for more. 10/10 + reasonable prices!!

Nice size restaurant, clean, lots of parking in their lot. Friendly service with a smile. I had my doubts about this place because I'm Nicaraguan, and I usually have to take myself to unpleasant parts of L.A. to get my fix. But I was not disappointed. We tried the carne asada plate, which comes with the usual gallo pinto, ensalada, tajadas verdes & fried cheese. We also had the pollo a la plancha, a Nica breakfast, and a nacatamal. Everything was fresh, hot, and very tasty. No more driving in that awful L.A. traffic. This will be my new Nica spot. I will be telling my big family about this place. And I will be back soon!

My De Todo Supremo / The Everything Supreme burrito. I left the packaging for size reference. It was throughly enjoyable!
    Harrison Y.

I stopped here thinking it was still the previous business (Country Burger) only to find out it was under new ownership and the menu had changed. That being said, I wanted a breakfast burrito, and they had breakfast burritos. So I ordered one (the De Todo Suprema) and it was great. While waiting for the burrito, I spoke with one of the owners, Araceli, who explained that their main offerings were Nicaraguan and they were looking forward to introducing the food of their homeland to the area. Having never had Nicaraguan food, I was intrigued and retuned that evening and was glad I did. I brought my son along with me, but will leave it to him to post his own review. As for me, I had the Casero Carne Asada with a Cacao Con Leche to drink. The beef rivaled most any carne asada I have had elsewhere and the drink reminded me of horchata, only with a chocolate spin. Other than how good the food was, the service was attentive and helpful when it came to making a decision about what to order. The ambiance was casual and modern and had been completely redesigned from the previous occupants. Parking was also a snap with easy access from Western Ave. I wish them well in this new endeavor and am happy to have them in the neighborhood. I will return!

Trying for the first time Indio Viejo! Taste like a tamale with shredded beef and rice.

Food was delicious and great service! Very clean and spacious dining room. Will be coming back

    Cacao

My husband loves quesillo and it was great; he said the tortilla could have been better- but I was a fan. The pickled onions on everything please! I did notice a different type of rice used than the typical Nicaraguan rice, it was still delicious. I got the Pollo w jalapeño cream sauce. I'm used to being asked if I want white or Gallo pinto and if I want tajadas or maduros when going to a Nicaraguan restaurant, and that wasn't the case here, but it's okay- next time I'll ask if I can sub for what I'm craving. My husband got a fritanga and he also ordered an appetizer, tostones w cheese and Ensenada. Everything was great, he was stating how it was better than Porto Banco- I think that's the name of the restaurant I may be confusing it. Regardless, overall delicious! P.S. we got the cacao and it was yummy! I saw the pics and asked my husband for some- be warned it was $15 for 4. Will be coming back.

Their secret sauce is pretty good at kicking up an otherwise decent sandwich. As another reviewer mentioned, the lady taking my order was not friendly and socially awkward in a rude way. Chips and drink don't come as a combo, so expect to pay $6 dollars to make it a meal. That's a big difference for a $11 sandwich. Friday noon, and most customers had beers with their lunch.
