I still ordered it because I figured the tortilla would be a lighter meal for lunch and I wouldn't feel as drained as if it was masa. My huarache had a base of some of the best refried beans I've had in a long time and let me tell you about the carnitas! In the area we used to live in, carnitas was generally served as shredded pork. Here, it was chunks of meat and I was a little anxious that they would be tough. But oh, the meat was so tender! I barely touched it with my fork and it fell apart! I barely had to chew it. I was really only chewing the tortilla. It was flavorful without being too spicy, so the taste of the carnitas could shine through. Honestly, this place is a little unassuming hole in the wall type of place in a weird strip mall that also has a surgery center and a gym in it.
