Wanted lunch was visiting the area from AZ. Wasn't expecting much, it's mexican food in Jersey. Restaurant is in a small strip mall. We opted to sit on the side of the building that they've converted to an really cute outside dining area. We ordered. I wanted something small I I ordered "a" carnitas tostada, well it came as three. Loaded with cheese and flavorful retried black beans with just enough pork carnitas. This dish was good but I do wish the pork was caramelized a bit more and it had a little bit more flavor..but I'd definitely order again if in the area. We ordered guacamole, it was excellent. Chips and salsa, chips a tad to thick for me but very fresh. Red and green salsa was great. The red had just a hint of heat at the end. The green, I loved the abundance of cilantro. The chipotle crema was ok. My husband liked his enchiladas and I tasted the sauce, again full of flavor. My brothers relleno was huge and picture perfect but the cheese was strange. Major cheese pull, he had a hard time eating it. Had to twirl on his fork like spaghetti. But again, he loved the taste. Overall this was a great affordable meal. Service was good, produce and garnishes were fresh, food tasty. I'd love to go back and try the take out boxes.

Amazing place, dope vibe, very festive (had a Halloween decor and colors all over), great food, and excellent service. This place seemed like a hidden hole in the wall but every 2 minutes there was more and more people walking in, so clearly I'm late to this spot. Definitely will be going back!

I went here with family on a road trip! Okay first off I ABSOLUTELY LOVEEE THE DECOR!!! The People are very friendly and attentive but I honestly can't say the food is as good.

Fresh! Bright, clean, very cute inside and out. The freshness was visible when they set our plates down and then the first bite confirmed it. The chips (with salsas and queso) they brought to the table were probably the best I've had. Enchiladas and asada tacos were both excellent. The street corn was delish!!! Cute floral decor inside and umbrellas hung outside on the patio.

A decent Mexican restaurant in South Jersey. My fiancé and I came around 7 pm on a Friday and the restaurant was packed. Luckily we were able to be seated quickly and were served chips and salsa and water. The trio of salsas were great, I loved the different flavors. For apps, we ordered the tortilla soup. I ordered this in the past and loved it but this time they put too many tortilla strips, which I couldn't finish. Overall, the flavor was great and the . For entrees we ordered the enchiladas with tomatillo sauce. I ordered the veggie one. I loved the sauce, it was spicy and tangy and filled with different veggies. Our food did take a while to come out, which is why I took one star off but overall had a good experience.

I never leave reviews. We ordered the "taco bar" box, and let me first say, there is nowhere that compares to this place. Phenomenal. -fantastic value (amount of food/price) -excellent quality ingredients (can taste freshness -great presentation Not only will i be going back for more soon, but this box would be perfect for having friends over for a football game or bbq

Nothing in the taco but bland, overcooked beef.

(Photos included) It was my first time trying birria tacos, and it was not good. Very bland. The tacos are nothing but meat in a fried tortilla (I skipped the cheese but that wouldn't have made it better). The birria sauce/soup was spicy which is nice, but it was very watery and didn't have that smoky, beefy taste everyone talks about. It was so bland! And it cost $18! Next time I will have to try something else from the menu. Pros: beautiful restaurant.

I have not one bad thing to say about this restaurant. From the smiles when you walk in, the attentiveness of the staff and the adorable decor. Each dish we ordered was delicious. Also, the way they sang Happy Birthday to me was heartwarming.

Take away boxes are the way to go! Wonderful way to have family dinner at home. Every little item you could need is included. Lime wedges. Sour cream. Etc. we had a taco box, for four 4 adults - added rice/ beans. Elote. and churros and had plenty of leftovers. Can not brag enough about how delicious everything was. Take away is a gamble especially on cinco de Mayo weekend and we had everything we ordered and full bellies

I called in a order for pickup. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The inside is much larger than anticipated. All the tables were neatly set with colorful napkins. I ordered the lunch express for $13. The food looked really good and I wanted to like it! The food was bland. With some extra seasoning this would have been a 5 star review.

I found this place when I needed to wash blankets at a laundromat. The food is amazing, just the smell of the food from outside got my attention and made me hungry. I'm on a new addiction with Birria Tacos, and these did not disappoint!! The meat is so favorable, and the aujeu that comes with it, is so good. This definitely is a must try if you are in the area!!!

Saturday afternoon and we had a sudden craving for Mexican food, specifically nachos. I suggested Mariachi San Lucas because I recall their nachos (and their food in general) being superb and the drive being on the shorter end. It's been a couple of years since my mom and I have been and it was my girlfriend's first time. We arrived around 3:45 and had were the only guests in the restaurant. It is BYOB so we brought a bottle of wine and they supplied the wine glasses. Our server was really nice and more than accommodating. We had a few questions and a couple requests and everything we asked was of no issue at all. The restaurant also seemed like it was decorated for Spring. Both my mom and girlfriend said it was cute inside. They started us off with homemade chips and some delicious salsas. Soon after we placed our order more guests started arriving. I guess we ended up going at a weird time right between lunch and dinner but by the time we were finished eating the place was full. We decided to split chicken nachos between the 3 of us and to each get our own entree. My girlfriend ordered a chicken burrito enchilada style in green sauce. My mom had chicken enchiladas in green sauce. I finally broke after years of wanting to try a molcajete bowl and loved it. I chose red guajillo sauce which is the least spicy of their two options. It came with beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, and avocado and was bubbling and steaming long after it was placed in front of me. The sauce had great flavor and the meat was tender. I couldn't even finish the entire dish because the portion size was so large. My mom and girlfriend had leftovers as well. Everyone enjoyed their food to say the least. I can't believe it's been so long between visits for me especially with how short of a drive I have. The food was great and so was the service. I will be back again soon. The quality is just how I remember it a few years back.

We started off with fresh bread, made in-house, and a bottle of wine from Saddlehill Winery. (They sell bottles from the winery up the road.) bread was nice and crispy. For appetizers we did the clams casino and calamari. The clams casino were loaded with fresh red peppers and bacon and had a great smoky taste. The calamari was some of the best I've ever had! They don't use batter for the squid and it was still so crunchy and flavorful. The marinara was exquisite. For entrees I had the chicken francese which was battered well, and had a tangy lemony taste. Served with snap peas and mashed potatoes. My friend had the chicken parm and the spaghetti it was served with, as simple as it looked, was phenomenal. The chicken parm was a classic and fantastic choice, served with a nice oozing amount of cheese. We shared the ravioli Di aragosta which was stuffed extremely well with lobster and crabmeat and topped with carrot sauce! The carrot sauce was better than I expected, very creamy and light. Definitely a unique time to try. We ended the night with housemade tiramisu and Italian rum cake. Both desserts were so moist and tasty, not overly sweet, and light which made a perfect post-dinner treat. We also sampled their housemade limoncello which was so smooth and lemony! Safe to say I was blown away with the food. Everything is prepared fresh here and you can taste the passion in the dining. The owners are husband and wife, and Mr. Fieni does the cooking while Mrs. Fieni does the baking. What a perfect team! I love the simple collaborative approach they have. To top it off, the service was incredible. We had people checking in with us all night and our server was so friendly and personable. The dining room is simple - that would draw attention away from the outstanding food and service. This is truly an Italian restaurant done right! I'll definitely be back!

My wife again chose The Chop House for her birthday dinner celebration and for great reason! We came on her birthday, a Tuesday evening, for drinks and appetizers in the bar area. The gentleman working valet was very respectful and professional and while I can take or leave valet in most cases, he definitely added to the upscale experience of the entire night. Upon seating ourselves at a high-top, both bartenders on shift greeted us with huge smiles and very warm hello's. They are familiar faces to my wife's family and were genuinely happy to see us. Unfortunately, we learned my wife's family's favorite server, Debbie, recently retired but great for her! The bartenders were fabulous themselves. Service, personability, mixology skills were all top-notch. They fit the sophisticated vibe of the restaurant perfectly. We started with drinks of course! A Stoli Elit Martini with a twist, a Dirty Martini, an Apple Butter Old Fashioned, and a Tito's and Club. The drinks came out beautifully. Smooth, chilled. I ordered the Apple Butter Old Fashioned as I was intrigued, but skeptical. While I thought it was good, I'd prefer a regular or Smoked Old Fashioned to the Apple Butter. My wife loved it though. We ordered lots of food to split and each appetizer we picked was as good if not better than the next. The Tuna Nachos fresh and had a tropical, savory flavor with pineapple mixed in. The Kona Tips were tender, full of flavor coming from the Kona crust and sautéed mushrooms/onions, and were served in a skillet full of sauce perfect for soaking up with bread. I actually liked the Kona Tips appetizer more than I liked the Kona Crust I got on my NY Strip I ordered last year (the Strip was great I'd just prefer no Kona crust on the entree). The Flatbread De Jour was a Kona Tip flatbread, which you may call us crazy for ordering two Kona Tip inspired appetizers, but the Kona Tips are just that good. The Oysters we had were small (just how I like them) and were up there with the best Oysters I've had. We finished up with Fried Calamari. They were lightly battered, fried nicely, tender, and served over a bed of different hot peppers (when I say hot, I mean it!). Everything was delicious and there wasn't one appetizer we chose that I wouldn't order again or recommend to others. We did order a few more drinks throughout the night -- another Elit Martini and a Hendrix Martini with the appetizers and then Bailey's on the rocks and Frangelico on the rocks as after dinner, dessert drinks. We ordered a Brownie Sundae for the table for my wife's birthday while she was excused from the table and the bartender brought it out with a lit candle. The bartender also brought out a complementary miniature Crème Brûlée for my wife as she acknowledged The Chop House's Crème Brûlée as one of her favorites earlier in the night when we were talking about the menu. I thought the entire night went as good as you could have hoped. Valet, bar service, food, drinks, desserts, atmosphere. Everything was amazing and most importantly my wife had a great birthday. This is two years in a row we celebrated her birthday at The Chop House and I wouldn't mind seeing this turn into her birthday tradition.

It consisted of 4 cuts of steaks and my favorites were the filet and ribeye. They were seasoned perfectly and grilled medium rare. Our sides were mashed potatoes, CH hash browns, and grilled asparagus. The weakest link was the asparagus which were small in size but still tasty. My only issues were that it took our server a while to get our first round of ice tea and waters. This lapse in service didn't last long as she greatly improved as time went on. The chicken wrapped in bacon was extremely dry and it probably should not have been served? A few minutes after, the manager came over to our table to ask if everything was ok. I mentioned that the chicken was dry and within five or so minutes, a gaucho brought over a fresh skewer of bacon wrapped chicken. Lastly, the pão de queijo ( cheese bread) was at room temperature. I still ate it but probably would have tasted better if it was served warm? My friend also received a nice piece of complementary birthday cake. For the most part, I definitely will return as I enjoyed both the salad bar and the meats. I also forgot to take pictures and will make sure to do so on my next visit. Finally. the service was outstanding less the hiccup at the beginning.
