Thankfully my wife speaks Spanish because her English is definitely limited. There were only two woman working when I ate there. Definite mom and pop vibe. The other people looked Mexican as did the customers who came after me definitely a good sign for authentic food. The drink portion sizes were pretty generous for a small size. The food took some time coming out, my wife enjoyed all three of her tacos. My shrimp taco was good and the corn tortilla was good not overly dry. Two salsas come to the table both were very good. The Gordita was solid liked the lettuce and cheese along with the meat. The thicker corn tortilla goes a longer to fill you up than a taco. Overall a good place, did not blow me away , but solid.

When I first walked in, there were two guys standing at the counter for quite a while. I couldn't figure out what they were doing until I saw the employee counting out cash. I also wasn't sure if I should sit to order my food or order at the counter. Eventually the employee handed me a menu so I sat at a table. There were other tables with native people at them so I figured the food must be good. I ordered a combo meal from the menu written in Spanish. It had two tacos, a tamale, and rice and beans. A short time later I was told they didn't have tamales. I was bummed about that so I ordered three tacos with a side of rice and beans. I was surprised at how long the food took to come out. And the portion of rice and beans was tiny, especially for $4. Of the tacos, the beef was a little tough, but the chicken and pork were good. The rice and beans were both tasty. Just not enough. Overall for over $14, I didn't think the food or experience was worth it. Maybe the tamales are the star of the show.

Immediately upon walking in we were greeted SO kindly and genuinely. The restaurant is beautiful- so nicely decorated and so clean. They have an expansive menu with so many options for all types of diets. I'm a vegetarian and they have vegetarian options for nearly all dishes that they offer! To start we were given chips and salsa which were fantastic. The salsa had a little bit of spice to it too which I loved. I got horchata and my husband got passion fruit Agua Fresca and WOW 10/10 without hesitation! Best horchata I've ever had. My husband does not like horchata and couldn't stop drinking mine! We both also loved the passion fruit Agua Fresca, another 10/10. They were so kind and brought us a sample of the cucumber and lime Agua Fresca as well which I'll definitely be getting with my next meal from here because it was SO refreshing and tasty. I got a vegetarian quesadilla and there's not a single thing I would change about it. It was hot and filling and so tasty! It had so much flavor! The guacamole and salsa it was served with were fantastic, too. My husband absolutely loved his steak burrito, too! No modifications he just got it the way it comes and he said he wouldn't change a single thing about his, either. The corn in a cup was absolutely incredible we added a bit of red salsa for a little kick to it and I'm not gonna stop thinking about it til I'm able to have it again. I'm not kidding it's amazing and DEFINITELY a must-have. I couldn't have been happier with our experience!

Our cashier was also our waitress and super nice. I had two carne asada tacos adding guacamole, husband had one pollo asado taco because he had a huge breakfast. Food was hot and fast. Meat tender and good quality, no gristle at all. Guac fresh, corn tortillas tender and held up nicely. Perfect tacos. What more could you want? Should have tried the frescas! I will keep this one bookmarked, because we'll be back for graduation next year!

The service: so slow, not attentive (salsa and waters at zero - no offer to replenish). Friendly, but just not good at basic waiting. The food: very, very Americanized. When I got the huevos con chorizo, it was SOOOO dry and over-cooked. All the other stuff is just boring. The hot salsa burns your mouth, the non-hot is like tomato sauce. An in-between would be lovely. The parking and location: great. The ambiance: music is at the right level not to blast you (blends into the background - yay), and the smell as you enter is bleach + food smell... so at least they clean thoroughly (cool.) The drinks: eh. First, when I asked for a skinny-spicy margarita, the waitress told me I could have one or the other. I said, how about you just make a skinny and put jalapeño in there. Yes. But the skinny was still way too sweet and not particularly tasty. I also asked for salt, and it came with none (it's a top priority - boo.) Then I got the $4 happy hour lime marg... it didn't seem like there was any tequila, and it was SO sweet and almost tasted like the kool-aid when I was a kid. Ick. Finally... told us they don't offer bottles of wine - even though it's right there in black-and-white on the menu. When we did get the bottle, it was room temp (white wine - not even chilled a little.) Massive drink bummer. Overall I just wouldn't need to return here if it weren't for the location.
