Juicy/not overcooked and a nice sauce. Grilled asparagus very good, not loaded with oil. Mashed potatoes were bad. They tasted like and had consistency of baby food. Hot rolls: Best Ive had in 20 yrs. I think theyre made from scratch. Worth the calories. Wine list a full page. Value about right...most dinners around $26.

We were able to call a few days prior so that they can make special side dishes that were Allergen friendly. We were celebrating our 13th anniversary and though I couldn't eat a lot of the special food When celebrating, everything still felt very special and the things that I could eat were absolutely phenomenal. I was very impressed. I would say this is a high 4, with one star down because even after talking to the manager and reminding the weight staff, the kitchen still brought me out two types of dairy with my appetizer, which led me to be a little paranoid the rest of the meal. After looking through the ingredient list which were provided promptly and graciously my trust was restored, but I always get a little bit nervous when it comes to allergies when I see that the staff in Kitchen and front staff are not communicating well. It was still a lovely meal, and I appreciate them going above and beyond to accommodate my allergens. I got the crabcake, surf and turf, a special request drink from the bar that was nonalcoholic, and a sorbet with fruit. I'm still dreaming about the crabcake and surf and turf. It was so good and cooked perfectly. I can't wait to try to re-create the crabcake at home. I was astounded at how delicious it was. I really enjoyed the fresh mango and strawberry in the salad that came out with a crabcake. Even though the crabcake sauce and the salad dressing both had dairy and were served with my appetizer, it was yummy without those sauces. It would've been nice if someone offered me an alternate sauce or had thought to tell me that they contain my allergy and I thought we were on the same page. I got a cherry limeade drink from the bar and it was very delicious. I don't normally get drinks but it was kind of fun to get something fruity and fun for a celebration. The bread was delicious and didn't contain the allergens so I was able to enjoy it without butter. I am not normally a sorbet girl and I probably wouldn't have normally ordered dessert here but since we were a celebrating, I wanted to try some thing sweet. I couldn't believe how good the sorbet was. It was a little rich, but it was so tasty. I think it would've been really excellent paired with a very light not overly sweet vanilla bean cake. It was so fruity and rich that it needed something to balance it out. I'm not complaining. It was excellent in a very nice end to the meal. Overall, 4.5 stars all of the stuff was lovely and it was nicely decorated for Christmas. Thank you so much for the lovely anniversary dinner!

This is a super late review that has been sitting in my drafts for some unknown reason…read more.. But my girlfriend (who is from Louisiana) stopped in to eat here a couple months back. They had vinyl jazz playing, which i noticed but was second nature to her... We were greeted, told to order from the table, and he would bring it out. We got a whole bunch of stuff to try out... She got catfish and curly fries, which she loved. I got a larger sea food boil with every seasoning, it was great -- a bit small for what i thought the price was but for the taste i'm not complaining. We ordered hush puppies as an appetizer, and i had to hear from her that they were "good" but it's not how she would make them, blah blah blah.... Southern people and their soul food, everyone has a hot take. With that said, she ate most of them. We also had a fried basket appetizer which was catfish nuggets, shrimp, and clams i think -- also very good. Lastly, no picture on this one, but we got a blackened alfredo to go --- and it was also very tasty. We have been back twice since our initial visit. Amazing food, and come to find out the employee that was helping us, was the only one who works there... it was overall impressive, tasty, and we'll be back more.

I'll start by saying Crawdaddy's is run by one person, so be patient or order ahead online…read more That being said, it's so fun to have something other than a burger or pizza in the downtown area. The jambalaya is vegan until you add meat to it, they have vegan beignets (though they sell out fast, so make sure to place your order early). They collards, potatoes and I believe the corn are also vegan. I would absolutely love if they had a vegan sausage, but just happy for the options. It's a very cute space with reasonable prices and hope it stays put!

The drink menu was impressive, with a fantastic selection of expertly crafted cocktails and other alcoholic beverages that were both creative and well-balanced. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offered great recommendations, and made us feel genuinely welcome. The combination of outstanding drinks, excellent service, and a great overall ambiance makes this restaurant a place I would happily recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. There were so many delicious food offerings. It was hard to decide. The brussels sprout salad with chicken was amazing. It fed me three times! My friends and family were all happy with their meals. Tots were crunchy and delicious and their potato fries are like nothing I've had before- thin cut pieces of potato deep fried. There was a miss on my son's food and he got his meal after we were mostly finished. Service could be a bit slow but when we were attended to, it was very attentive. Would definitely hit this place again if I'm in the area.

I have heard people talk about Mac's and recommend it…read more My wife has eaten there with one of her girlfriends and she has brought home leftover and they were fantastic. I can be very critical of restaurants. I have over 20 years food service experience. From the UK to the USA. I will say that every dish that was prepared for us was absolutely phenomenal! The timing of the service of the dinner was very good. No long waits, and the food was served hot, the proper temperatures. We had steamed mussels with the home made bread. The pairing was excellent. My wife has never eaten alligator and she surprised me by suggesting that she would like to try it. The taste was very fresh, lightly battered and spiced to perfection. My wife does not like spicy food, but she enjoyed it. We next tried the soups. She had the Mariners chowder and I had the gumbo. I have lived in Southern Mississippi, and I will say that the gumbo is by far one of the best that I have ever had. The Mariners chowder was also very good, but the gumbo was exceptional. For our entree my wife had the Lobster roll and 1 had the Jambalaya. The Lobster roll came on a grilled roll and the lobster stuffing was very fresh tasting. The Jambalaya was spicy the way it should be. The serving size was abundant. For dessert we had key lime pie and cheese cake with a strawberry. Both were very very good. The wait staff were very friendly and answered any questions that we had about the menu. I highly recommend Mac's for any of those special occasions or to just go out and have a good meal with you family.

The little bread chunks were very good. The Caesar salad and salmon was good. On the other hand my fish and chips left a lot to be desired. It came with two pieces of fish, a little ramican of coleslaw and french fries, in what my wife described as a cute little basket. The fish was almost chocolate brown. You couldn't even stab your fork into it. Now I've eaten here a number of times in the past. But never have I had fish that well done. I had a coffee but was never ever asked if I needed a refill. At 1 point the server was standing right at my table. I was holding my cup, which was over half empty, and they never asked if I wanted to refill. The bill with tip came to thirty eight dollars. Maybe that's why I haven't been here in a while. I worked at Long John Silvers for 3 years, back in the 1980's. I was the manager, and if I ever seen a piece of fish came out that brown, it would have went in the garbage. If you're feeling lucky someday, go ahead and give it a try. But don't blame me.

After taking our order the food comes out very fast. The quesobirria was outstanding perfectly tender meat the dipping consume was outstanding which means their Birria stew is probably very good. The rice and beans were excellent. The California burrito was excellent, fries perfectly crispy, Asada was very good. Also a very pleasant surprise is they give complimentary chips and salsa, which given economy/inflation is becoming more rare in Mexican restaurants. Both salsas were excellent the red is a spicy smoky flavor. The salsa verde is tangy and mild. Inside has the Latin vibe but you can tell they took over a 50's style diner so gives the overall feel an interesting vibe. Will definitely eat here solid food good prices good service.

The wet burrito was great and my husband enjoyed the variety of tacos he ordered. The second time we came, there were many slices of the onion skin in one of my tacos, which were far too tough to be chewed. This time there was a bone the size of a small cube of meat hidden in the middle of the al pastor taco and I bit it so hard I feared that I chipped my tooth. (I didn't.) I also was very disappointed with the al pastor taco because there was no pineapple flavor and certainly no pieces of pineapple. It tasted like salt with a few other spices, and I would not order it again. The asada taco was fantastic, cooked perfectly, and would also be a great choice for a burrito. My husband said his shredded chicken enchiladas were ok, but nothing special. We both think the beans and rice at El Castillo is wonderful. The same server/cashier is always working and is super friendly. They have dine in as well as carry out. If you want to eat there, you can sit anywhere you'd like in the large dining room, but know that it's not fancy (which doesn't matter to us) and is always cold (which is a bummer in winter). I hope you have a great experience and the food is stellar.
