Got frozen mozz sticks that tasted like straight fish, after returning them they gave us another, again straight fish. Both got the hunters meal, my husbands eggs were raw, mine smelled horrible and tasted worst. My husband got ham said it was absolutely awful. We got two minutes down the road before I was profusely throwing up in a parking lot. read more

We finally got out there for breakfast and they were open lol We've tried 2 times prior and it was just bad luck that they were closed for one reason or another. The food was pretty good tho! I liked all of the options there and ended up choosing the cinnamon raisin bread French toast with sausage links and a side of biscuits and gravy (half order, to just try that). The staff was very helpful, friendly and attentive. Clean dining room and our orders were cooked perfectly. I'm pretty picky about sausage links, but these were juicy, hot and had the perfect amount of browning! We will be back!! read more

Service was excellent and accommodated my special requests with aplomb ("please toast the rye vs. grilling it", etc.) as well as my super rowdy family! Fries were great. When we arrived they were busy, wait was 15-20 minutes but tables were turned over fast! Worth the wait because the food was great! Portions were big, very flavorful and service was quick! Great mom and pop! Small old school diner, kitchen is out in the open with counter seats so you can see food cooked right in front. So delicious, generous portions and very reasonable priced!! Weekday had no wait but I'd wait it's worth it. They have a grinder so the coffee is fresh ground every pot (Colombian beans, i asked) Servers were so nice, worked as a team to make sure we were taken care of with coffee refills, extra napkins or whatever we asked for. This is your classic diner. Packed with locals who love it but open and loving for newbies. I had the steak grinder which I didn't love. The peppers were too large and the meat too dry. But everyone has an off day so I tried them for breakfast and that's the hit. I have blueberry pancakes, sausage, links, and bacon and everything was delicious. There was oodles of blueberries in the pancakes, and they were nice and fluffy and about as big as around as my face. The bacon was nice and crunchy salty the way it should be in the sausages for fried on the hard side, which is how I like mine. Plus it's it's cheap eats. Def return for breakfast and plan to give their hamburgers a try. They have the old-school griddles in the back, the flat top ones, those usually make the best burgers. So far service has been good and menu is quite diverse. Omelets and vegetarians options. I ordered the regular two eggs, two pancakes and substituted the meat with old style potatoes almost hash browns. Oldskool furniture but thus far very clean, so not hating. Sometimes a good old fashioned diner is just what I want on my weekend for a meal. Scramble up some eggs, fritter up some hash browns, and round it out with a sausage patty, and that's brunch. Bonus points if the place has an open kitchen and booths with vinyl like the original diners had. I found all that at the Golden Egg restaurant while recently in the area. Fast, friendly service and reasonable prices didn't hurt either. My friend and I were quickly seated, our order was promptly taken (and cooked up), and it tasted great! I got the Golden Egg Special with bacon, and a side of toast and jam. It filled up the plate and soon filled up my empty stomach. With coffee to wash it all down, I was ready to take on my weekend! read more

Service and food are top notch. We were seated right away and the server took her time to explain the menu as this was our first time at the fabulous Golden Egg. Brother had the spinach omelette and I had basic eggs over medium. Delishious! The potatoes are lumberjack style and perfect. I love the working class vibe here-no pretentious snooty people thinking it's cute. A real down to earth working person's breakfast!
