Food is good but whenever I try to order there is a huge language barrier. I don't speak Spanish, and they do not speak English therefore nothing can get done. My boyfriend called and asked to place an order for delivery. They responded in spanish, and he asked if anyone spoke English so that they understand him. They said "no English." How are we supposed to order food? I mean I understand I am a minority because I do not speak spanish and most of my region does but I feel like places should have English and spanish speakers to better communicate and understand. First time I ordered Lomo Saltado here, it was underwhelming. Today, I decided to give it another shot, and ordered the same thing, with fried eggs. I ordered it to go since I lived nearby, and wanted to watch a movie on netflix while having dinner. When I opened the container of lomo saltado, I realized they forgot to include the rice, that it's supposed to come with. The lomo saltado i got was once again underwhelming or worse. The beef strips were extremely dry and bland. It was severely under-seasoned, it made me lose my appetite. The fries, understandably gets soggy from the little sauce that's a part of the dish, but even the fries and the sauce lacked flavor. Covid 19 virus central! Came here for takeout and never seen so many unmasked people dining indoors in an enclosed space. All guests, staff and cooks HAD NO MASK indoors. They should be ashamed of themselves for putting the community at risk. Pollo A la Brasa does not taste like authentic Peruvian chicken. Actually, I'm 99.9% sure the Pollo A La Brasa was the same Rotisserie Chicken they sell at Costco. I can tell by the lack of seasoning on the skin and inside of the bone. A very simple little food place in a hiding place of Port Chester NY. The service was great. I had the Lomo Saltado.. it was really good. Overall I will say a good experience. Is not a fancy place. I really want to write a good review of this place. I really really do. However, I can't at this time. I happened to see their delivery truck driving around town and decided to try and order in (not many places to choose from in PoCho to deliver). Boy was that a bad idea. Barely anyone that I got on the phone spoke English. After pretty much yelling my order and card number into the phone (because the person on the phone didn't understand me and the place sounded incredibly loud) the delivery guy came and stood there waiting to get paid. To my surprise he spoke English very well and said that I didn't pay. He didn't leave a receipt so I tried to call back to find out if they did charge my card. The person on the phone said they don't speak English then hung up (WTF!). A friend of mine tried to call them for a pick-up had them hang up on him as well. The only reason why this isn't a 1 is because the food thankfully WAS good. I had the lomo saltado and it was very flavorful. I wish they were on seamless so I don't have to deal with them on the phone. Maybe one day I'll go into the restaurant and try it out, but right now, sadly I'll have to pass. read more

The food here is great. They have made updates to the restuarant. Their downfall is the delivery that takes forever. They will quote you 45 min but sometimes it's longer and their customer service is horrible. Everytime you call to order they all sound as if the are not happy to be working. That is why if most of the times if I'm not in the mood for saltado de mariscos, I'll go to the restuarant up the street, IncAzteca. They have great customer service whether you dine in or out. Food is reasonably priced. There is lots of parking on the street. No beer served here. But you can find your typical Peruvian drinks. The food is standard Peruvian food,cooked to order. They have cheap lunch specials The service is tough, but typical for Spanish restaurants(not checking back in, no water, slow service) The hot sauce is mild aji, I like more of a kick in my hot sauces. Went there on Friday June 20 ,2015. I wanted them to cook a piece of pig for a baby shower. Which was on the 27th. Anyhow when we first got there. The boss lady wasn't there. I'm assuming her name is Glady. So we had to come back to talk to her for the request. We got a chance to talk to her and we had to leave $40 for deposit of $80. Friday June 26 we went there just to make sure they don't forgot about the order. They didn't. Saturday June 27 the day of baby shower. We get to the restaurant and no one has a clue what we were talking about. We spoke to the boss man who was clueless too. After 30 min of confusion. Boss man calls "Glady" which tells him she forgot about the order. Your food is great. Your lack of communication and your customers service need adjusting. Two thumbs down. Very stingy with giving you extra hot sauce, and I was really turned off by the delivery packaging. They put the hot food into a foam package and it ends up melting the container. Oil and other liquids end up filling the bottom of the bag, making a mess. I quickly put my food into a regular plate and just try to forget that it was in a melted plastic. The food is great though, no other complaints other than the packaging and the stinginess when it comes to giving extra sauce. Most of the time you will call and get somebody who understands you, so that's definitely a plus. I will update my review when I see aluminum packaging in my deliveries, and not having to pay extra for hot sauce ;) read more

This place has very good lomo. But I gave 3 stars because of customer service issues. My husband called to order 2 lomos to go and the lady who answered said our total would be over $20. That seemed a bit odd and we asked why, she said because it's a large lomo. First of all she didn't ask if we wanted a small or large lomo, so how would we know that there were different sizes. She had an attitude when we said we wanted to change our order from a large to a small. The worst when it comes to delivery! My order was very simple. Lomo and half chicken with rice. I asked for delivery. Not once they did they say how long it was going to take. My order took about an hour and half to finally get it in my hands. After the hour passed, I called restaurant about my order. They said the guy was on his way. 20 minutes went by and I called again and they told me to come pick it up because it never went out for delivery. I was furious to learn that my order was not out for delivery!!!! When I got to the restaurant, I asked to speak to a manager, which they told me was not there. I asked for the owner and same thing, was not there and they would not provide me with his contact info. There was no one to speak with. They suck and their lomo is not all that. La Gladys has the worst customer service probably in all of port chester. The sad part is the food is pretty good, but on at least 3 separate occasions they messed up our order for delivery and were extremely rude to my wife when she called back to get our order corrected. They refused to give us the right order and it took my wife going down there in person to get things fixed. I placed an order over the phone, I received said order an hour later. The driver was very rude and attempted to drive off with my change and then when I asked for my change he said how much of it. I finally open the bag and the order was wrong and on top of it, it was cold. If you're around the area, stop by La Gladys for original, home-cooked Peruvian cuisine. It's so authentic that the staff hardly speak English. We tried the mixed ceviche, which was pretty good and spicy. Portion was pretty generous too. I had the tallarines verde con carne (green spaghetti with beef) and I only ate about a quarter of the dish. The rest I took home and ate the next day. It tasted A LOT better the next day because the flavors really needed to sit and mesh. My husband had the lomo saltado and it was ok. This place has managed to keep their ingredientes and cooking techniques true to Peruvian cuisine, just like my grandmother and mother used to cook some of my most beloved Peruvian dishes back at home -Lima. You can taste the fresh ginger in the first one, needless to say the smoky flavor and juiciness of the saltado de pollo...The only drawback is the limited amount of tables they have. I really feel sad about my review for this place because it was once the spot to go particularly the Lomo Saltado but... 1) Lately the quality of the food has gone down the drain. The Lomo Saltado is now terrible and don't want to even mention the Seco Norteno. 2) Delivery service is terrible! Drivers are rude, don't speak english, and are not PERUVIAN so they don't know anything about the food they are delivering. The last point might not be a problem except when getting the wrong order and trying to explain why this is not the dish I ordered!!! wtf 3) Lack of customer focus restaurant. I'm not sure this is a thing for restaurant but this place really feels like they don't give a shit about providing the best experience to it's customers.
