Just love this place. So many choices on the menu. Staff is super friendly. Food is always good. Have been multiple times and will be back again.

This is the Italian restaurant located near the lobby of the Moon Palace Sunrise. They're open for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is a buffet style and dinner is a la carte. As of 9/2021, the resort app states many times there's a wait. But when you arrive, you can be seated immediately. Hopefully they updated the issue. The interior is amazing, reminiscent of an upscale restaurant with beautiful stained glass patterns on the ceiling. It's very spacious and can accommodate a lot of diners. Breakfast buffet: During Covid, a staff member stands by the entrance to the food area giving everyone a squirt of sanitizer. The omelette station appears to be very popular as there's always a line. But if you want to build your own plate, it can be much faster. Baked items are fresh and good. They sometimes have several types of sausages, Argentinian, spicy, chorizo..etc. Fresh juices are available for self serve. Dinner: For a restaurant of this size, the menu is somewhat limited. We thought there'd be several options for pasta and pizza but were able to find something to satisfy our hunger. The grilled fish was perfect. It was ender with nicely seasoned flavor. The ravioli were cooked well, with the shells being a nice texture. The lamb shank was huge, and extremely fork tender. The meat just fell off the bone with a slight pull of the fork. Flavor was great. The desserts (see photos) were all good but the highlight has to be the cannoli. They're fresh and flaky with a light sweet cream, dipped in pistachio on one end, and chocolate chips on the other. When we were there, (8/2021 to 9/2021) they weren't busy at all. Staff can be seen waiting for more diners to come in, so the service we received was great. But I suspect peak season would be a different story, as I noticed stacks of pagers for when people have to wait for a table. This is a no-brained while at Sunrise because of its nice ambiance, interior, service and location right next to the lobby.

Great ambiance and decors. Great experience with the Palace resort! Great service as well. Definitely would come back. Only tried this place one and we really enjoyed the beef carpaccio. Nicely seasoned with peso sauce and olive oil with olives and spinach. The hubby enjoyed this dish very much and wanted to ordered a second but we were too full to do so. We ordered Grilled Octopus, Veal Eggplant, Beef Shank. Some parts of the Grilled Octopus was cooked perfectly but the rest was overcooked and become inedible, which was a disappointment. Veal Eggplant flavors were very good especially the white sauce. The Beef Shank was perfectly cooked to the point the meats flakes off the bone easily. We ordered a bunch of desserts and coffee. We loved the Custard Crème donuts which was paired with the butterscotch syrup dip and the Tiramisu. The cannoli was good but a bit hard to bite into. The Chocolate Decadence as well which was hard to dig into for a bite. Overall very great experience!

Limoncello! The best dinner experience we've had in Moon Palace Resort is at La Gondola. The atmosphere is of grand ballroom with magnificent detail. The stained glass roof ceiling brings a colorful touch of elegance. The cocktails, the bread service, entrees and dessert were all great. For dinner, the sea bass and braised short ribs were amazing. For dessert we tried a little of everything! The tiramisu was served in a cup, was not expecting much, but turned out much better than I expected. I also had a trio of gelato. The amoretto, stratiatella and tiramisu flavors. All very distinct and not too sweet! Finish the evening with a limoncello neat. We were delighted to see they also served a breakfast buffet. In our opinion, better than bugumbilias, but not by much.

We were treated to a private romantic dinner on the patio at Sunset at La Gondola. They pulled out all of the stops for us! A six course meal that was truly divine, with cocktails and wine. The chef and the restaurant manager came to greet us, we had a private waiter the entire meal and a sommelier throughout the dinner to suggest wine pairings. The food was out of this world! The grilled bread was fabulous, the soup fresh and flavorful. I didn't get a picture of the prawn fettuccine Alfredo, I think I was overwhelmed by that time. It was some of the best fettuccine Alfredo that I have ever had! The lamb shank in the Ossobucco was tender and good. The dessert assortment topped off the meal. If you get a chance to go to La Gondola, do it!

Had such an amazing experience with Dawn Bruder and Palace Resort. It's always hard to find an all inclusive resort with very delicious food and drinks. This place is it!! Our host, Eduardo, made the experience worth the trip.

Oh man did I enjoy the food at this place. I stuffed myself to the max when my family ate here. Started off with the bread and butter. The butter in Mexico was delicious. Something about it, it was sweet and creamy. The onion bread was the best choice on the table. Save the bread to dip it into the pasta sauces or soup. I had the cream of tomato soup which was average but when you dip the bread into it, it became magical. The portobello mushroom with tomato and mozzarella was very fresh, and delicious tasting. Never thought to pair the typical tomato and mozzarella with mushrooms. Fantastic idea it went together so well ! I originally ordered the Duck Ravioli but the server recommend I get two dishes since many people complain that the Duck Ravioli is nasty since there is chocolate in the sauce it is served in. My second choice was the pasta stuffed with salmon with fennel butter. I am happy I picked two because they both were TO DIE FOR. The Duck Ravioli surprised me. It was so tender and the sauce was really tasty with the duck. I found myself eating it non stop. Also the pasta stuffed with salmon was served in a creamy tasty sauce that was so rich in flavor. Oh man I'm drooling. I tasted my brothers risotto and it was a disappointment. I honestly don't remember dessert. It probably was average. There service here was good. The waiters are very attentive.

Custom omelette station - note: veggie/meat all made together and will overlap

Came here twice for breakfast during my late January stay at Moon Palace, Sunrise area. The ambience is a bit nicer than Bugambillas, and while the breakfast at the two places is mostly similar, Bugambillas is a bit larger and so has some more variety. I lined up for a made-to-order omelette and was disappointed to see that there was no effort whatsoever in separating meat orders with veggie ones - the exact same utensil being used to chop up my friend's ham was being used to chop up my peppers alternatingly, and two separate times pieces of ham touched my omelette. Other than that, standard breakfast fare is available and quality is decent.

We went for the brunch buffet and it's pretty much the same food as bugambillas but with better seating and view. The brunch area was slightly more crowded since it's in a smaller space. They also have a fresh juice bar and a self-serve mimosa/Bloody Mary station!

Really nice fancy atmosphere with the glass ceilings and walls, but the food was subpar. The lasagna was a bit bland, the short ribs were too salty, and the steak was not cooked as my family wanted it. The food also took a solid 45 minutes to come after we ordered. No bueno. The portions are pretty small too, so keep that in mind as you take the small beeper for the one hour wait. Also, "casual" wear is okay, although they'll turn down anyone with a tank top and beach wear.

The only thing good about dinner here is the live music and service... although we sat at 7 and didn't get any food until 8/830 :-/ Portions are super small so make sure to order salad, soup, entree (& maybe another entree hah) but the quality is not great. The tuna tar tar appetizer was probably the best thing here. Tuna was fresh (interesting combo of quinoa and cucumber yogurt and mint on top). I'd recommend this. The spinach salad & dressing was delicious according to those whom ordered it but this salad came with only a few leaves so there were complaints that it was too small. The tomatoe bisque was not great, the ministrone/vegetable soup was comprised of broth and diced zucchini and looked good...my grandmother said it was delicious but my uncle says it is so so. The chicken stew with vegetables (5 diced up zucchini) was dry and chewy but flavorful sauce. If it wasn't chewy chicken this would have been my fav. The white tuna entree was super small in portion and salty it came with a few sauteed mushrooms. Not my fav. It was dry! The breaded salmon with pesto and potatoe gratin was good but the dish came out cold. The Seabass was light and flaky...again small portion. You must order a side with this otherwise you will not be full! My cousin ordered the short rib and liked it. Dessert was ok.. tiramisu, apple turnover and frozen yogurt crepe

Food was surprisingly better than I expected. I stay at the Sunrise, which is the middle (Nizu more budget and Grand is the high end). It was perfect, there were plenty of activities for the little ones and nice shows for the adults. The restaurants consist of several all you can eat and several sit down restaurants. The nicer sit down restaurants, you'll want to reserve in advance and bring some nice cloths. I spent several mornings going to their gym, the coach is super friendly. I took some of their fitness class - kickboxing and physical fitness. The coach does their best to cater towards your physical fitness. I was lucky one morning to be the only person there, so I got a one on one experience, love it! I would definitely go back in the future. Short drive from the airport as well. You should download their app since it gives you all of their information and restaurants, reservations times, etc. Just watch out when you check in and check out, there's some sales folks who will try to hustle you. Just say no thank you. Spend time at the place first, and unless you know you're coming back for sure, just say no thank you.

I'm usually more inclined towards an adventurous vacation but there is a time and place for everything. Moon Palace certainly has everything! This resort is only about 10 minutes from the Cancun airport (CUN) and is actually compromised of three properties in one - Nizuc, Sunrise, and The Grand, each with increasing level of "fanciness." You can travel between all three on foot or by golf cart and take advantage of the amenities at each, except The Grand which is wristband access only. Each property has all of the things - swim up bars, restaurants, beach access, lobby bars, night bars and clubs, grab and go food, and more. My friends and I upgraded our standard room to an ocean view room right near the golf cart stop and it was worth it. Getting around the property does take a little coordination and it was nice to have the golf cart stop nearby. The room itself was spacious with a well stocked fridge and hard liquor dispensers but does have a large bath tub in the center of the room which took up a lot of space. I'm not sure who is using these. We got room service almost daily for breakfast and a late night snack and it came quickly and was fairly good quality. The staff were all excellent so definitely do not forget to tip! They of course are gracious for anything that you are willing to offer - pesos and US dollars included. Please, please tip as they all work really hard to make sure that you have everything that you need. I will say that the check in process was a little confusing. When you walk into the lobby at Nizuc, there are several large desks immediately to the left that look like the check in but these are actually the check OUT. Check in desk is actually down a couple of hallways and not well marked. I had to get a bellboy escort me. We also had some issues with our wristbands. Since my party arrived at different times, some of our wristbands got deactivated when the rest of the party arrived. Luckily we were able to help one another out getting into the room and finally got it resolved at the desk. My only real reservation about this resort was the number of young teenagers. Admittedly, we visited during spring break but teenagers they were everywhere! Drinking age is 18 in Mexico but many of them looked like they could be 14 years old drinking at the bars and going to the clubs. Many of them were quite rude too yelling at the poor waitstaff for more drinks, not tipping and not saying thank you.

She explained everything, asked me about my concerns, and answered other questions I had about the spa. On another note. Many of the female staff members in the spa, on the women's side were not helpful at all. If they spoke english, they all acted as if they couldn't. Each, and everyone of them would walk away in the middle of you trying to talk to them. I am not exaggerating. No-one in there was helpful, or cared to help. No one gave tours, and no one explained anything when asked a question. It was frustrating, and angering. As much as I wanted to love my experience, I couldn't. The female spa attendant workers ruined what could have been a great experience. However, if you asked a male worker on the men's side, they were bilingual, very outgoing, and helpful. What gives??

The pools are nice and the service is great. We went during crazy sargassum so the beach was disappointing. If it wasn't for the seaweed, the beach looked like it had potential. The food here is hit or miss. Many of the portions are on the smaller side so you can order several dishes if you wanted to. If you come during spring break, or any other major peak season I'd imagine, it can get super busy at the restaurants. Many need reservations, which become impossible if you wait too long. We booked whatever time slot was available and just showed up whenever we wanted to eat. The staff was always able to to accommodate us. Luckily, if you don't have reservations, the buffet is pretty good for an all inclusive. Room service is also a great option. They cleaned our room several times a day for some reason, but that was nice since our kids always made a mess throughout the day. The water park is nice. Lots of areas for different age groups. The pool lounge chairs can be difficult to snag during busy season. We were unable to see most of the resort during our 5N there.
