I went to the Giddings office to get glasses. I always use WalMart and I thought I'd give local a try. The lady at the front in Giddings was very nice, however the doctor put way to strong an astigmatism on my left eye and I cannot wear my glasses without it having a feeling of pulling when I wear them. I have worn the glasses a total of 10 minutes altogether. I went back to tell the doctor about the problem and she kept making comments about how the vision test was going to be the same. She seemed irritated that I was questioning her judgment. I have been driving 300 miles away to take care of my Mom and haven't been able to address the issue. I called them and the lady who answered the phone in LaGrange hung up on me. I just wanted them to take the lenses. I called back and got the voicemail. It's ok. I will just go back to Walmart. They always got my prescription correct. I won't shop there ever again. I wish them well, but when I went back to address the problem it didn't get solved. No way to do business. read more

Eye doctor visit was great, very friendly, nice doctor. Spend $800+ on a pair of glasses/lenses and was told it would take about 2 weeks plus a day or so before I could come in and pick them up. It has now been a month since I paid for the glasses. At first they said the glasses failed inspection at the factory. Now when I stop in or call every few days they keep telling me they are waiting on FedEx to deliver them. Apparently FedEx no longer uses tracking numbers. Had to open a dispute on my credit card. Not being able to see well for a month is ridiculous. Going to drive into the big city and find a place and can actually provide me with glasses. read more

Thank you for the response a month later. We were never contacted for my daughter to come in for a fitting - the only follow-up was done by me to try and get the glasses in the first place. Then there was the call about the broken glasses to which I never received a response, would have been great to know about the warranty back then but one can only wait so long. Best of luck in turning things around for the better - a little humbleness and customer service goes a long way. read more

It's quite interesting that every review has given you ONE STAR and yet mine is the only one you replied to; and you did so with the rude tone that you use with your customers every day, instead of apologizing for your poor customer service. Terrible service, first of all, when I got there to check in, the front desk lady was rude and unhelpful! While I was getting the test done, the Dr kept trying to push contacts on me after I told her over and over that I can not wear contacts! Finally it was time to pick out my frames for my glasses, after I asked what the price my insurance would cover , the front desk lady again was very rude!! Picked my frames and paid for them, was then told it would take 7 days, here we are three weeks later and when I call about them , I get hung up on!!!! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE! I purchased a second pair of glasses and paid $130.00 extra for lenses that were supposed to be thin like the ones in the glasses I was wearing. I didn't pay attention to them while there but later noticed they were probably 3 time as thick as what they should have been so I took them back. I was told that these lenses were the proper material but she was going to send them back and have them make them thinner, Yeah right, I'm that stupid. So after three weeks I went in last Monday and was told they were to be delivered that very day. It was three weeks rather than the week and a half I was told because they had to order the lenses. Now today, a week later they still are not in. The Optometrist may be great, I don't know and I never will know because if I ever get my glasses I won't set foot in the place again read more

I had a very bad experience at La Grange Vision Center. I went through the eye exam without a problem. When I went back to have glasses made for myself I bought the progressive lenses. Or they were supposed to have been. What I got was a pair of lenses that were clouded except for the center 3rd of the lenses. I could only see what was directly in front of me. I could not move my eyes away from the center of the lenses if I wanted to see. I had to turn my head and point my nose at what I was trying to see. Obviously this is not a good thing for driving, and these were supposed to be glasses for driving and reading. I went back and explained the problem. I was told that this is how these lenses are made. They don't go all the way across the lens. It's only a portion. These were custom made for you and you can't have your money back. Fortunately I had purchased the warranty, that is only good there, and was able to have a pair of bifocals made. These too are weird. The bifocal does not go all the way across the bottom. It's only on a small portion of the bottom and there is a sharp ridge on the outside of my lens. This whole ordeal cost me over $400 and I am not satisfied. This place has very limited hours and are closed on Wednesday. They have border of the day on Friday. It took my wife four weeks to get her glasses it's going on three weeks and I still haven't received mine yet. I've had 2020 my whole life until about a year ago I had to start wearing cheatersMy glass of shit and have a cost $420 but they did and what's funny is my wife's glasses cost the same even though her vision is much worse and she had to wear glasses for 20 some odd years. My husband and I have been clients of LaGrange Vision Center for several years and have always been very pleased with the service we have gotten there. Our glasses have been wonderful also. The people who work there are always friendly, helpful and ready to assist in whatever way is needed. We have always gotten our glasses in a timely manner and they have gotten the orders correct. The exams have seemed very thorough and accurate. We wouldn't go anywhere else. Their prices are also reasonable and competitive.
