The office staff was pleasant, the actual doctor was very poor. Treated us like we were cattle. Never going there again.

The lady at the front in Giddings was very nice, however the doctor put way to strong an astigmatism on my left eye and I cannot wear my glasses without it having a feeling of pulling when I wear them. I have worn the glasses a total of 10 minutes altogether. I went back to tell the doctor about the problem and she kept making comments about how the vision test was going to be the same. She seemed irritated that I was questioning her judgment. I have been driving 300 miles away to take care of my Mom and haven't been able to address the issue. I called them and the lady who answered the phone in LaGrange hung up on me. I just wanted them to take the lenses. I called back and got the voicemail. It's ok. I will just go back to Walmart. They always got my prescription correct. I won't shop there ever again. I wish them well, but when I went back to address the problem it didn't get solved. No way to do business.

It has now been a month since I paid for the glasses. At first they said the glasses failed inspection at the factory. Now when I stop in or call every few days they keep telling me they are waiting on FedEx to deliver them. Apparently FedEx no longer uses tracking numbers. Had to open a dispute on my credit card. Not being able to see well for a month is ridiculous. Going to drive into the big city and find a place and can actually provide me with glasses.

Based solely on Michelle's…read morereview I checked out the training of Dr. Lindsey and found we both attended the same med school. That was enough for me. I scheduled an appointment (I was able to be seen the next day) and the visit went smoothly. The office staff was friendly and efficient, and Dr. Lindsey was delightful. Every good thing Michelle said about Dr. Lindsey was true for me, too. We had a good time chatting about faculty we knew in common. My fears of an eye infection were groundless (my discomfort was most likely due to allergies so she gave me some eyedrops). I had her do a full refraction and eye exam since I was already there. She found my current eyeglass prescription was fine and didn't need to be changed, and that my eyes were perfectly healthy (she said they were likely the healthiest she'd see all day). I'll see her again in a year, and look forward to it. If you need an ophthalmologist who is well-trained in diseases of the eye as well as the normal eyeglass and contact lens fitting, then I recommend Dr. Lindsey. Other physicians who are members of the group practice (The Eye Institute of Austin) appear to be equally stellar in their pedigrees.

She listens well and proposes workable solutions for every little complaint - like loading me up with samples of various eye drops to try with my finicky gas permeable lenses. Her staff is excellent, as well, and for as long as I've been seeing her, she's had the same assistant, the same optometrist, the same contact lens expert - the longevity in this office just says something. Also, she hates waiting at the doctor's office, so she works hard to stay on schedule, which I so appreciate. Doctors who realize that their patients' time is valuable, too, are much too rare. I'd recommend Dr. Lindsey without reservation.

I made what I thought was my yearly appointment which my insurance covers with a $10.00 copay…read more The staff and Doctor I thought were great. The tech did most of the tests with me and then at one point she brought me out to the hallway and put my up to a machine. I had never seen that before and wasn't sure what it was. But didn't think to much about it. The Doctor came in and stated everything looked good same as last year. A few little floaters and the beginning of cataracts, said the same thing last year, gave me a script for glasses, same as last year. Went out to pay my copay. The lady at the desk said they weren't sure what the bill was due to they had to process it through my insurance. My eyes were dilated so again just went on my merry way. 3 weeks later I get a bill for $165.00. I was very confused. Called them. The first lady stated that it looked like they put it through the wrong insurance as she can see the one from last year. Then I got a call from another lady that stated yes, it was the way it was coded and that to put it through the other insurance would be a difficult, but she will pass it along to someone for further explanation. Then I get a woman called Mona, she stated that the Doctor determined it was medical (even though he saw me for about 5 minutes). I said just to put it through my other insurance. She said that's insurance fraud. So I said well, I'm not paying it, have the tech pay for it. She said no, we can't due that and hung up on me. Then I get a text from a collection company, I saw the Doctor on 6/22/2026. After calling both insurance places. I'm stuck with the bill. They never communicated to me that I would have a bill and that my eye appointment was a medical issue. The refraction test is extra that was not communicated as well nor did I get the results from it. They did say that they will take $29.00 off for the refraction. Make sure you ask questions and don't assume. Needless to say I will not be back , its a shame due to that I really liked the Doctor.

Each staff member was friendly and helpful, and Dr. Young was kind and professional. My surgery was two days ago -- easy and painless, and less than two hours from walking in to walking out. Great person, doctor and surgeon! We took our adult son to "Dr. K" after being referred by our…read moreregular optometrist, Dr. Lauer (whom I also highly recommend). Our now 35 year old who was born very premature (27 weeks) in 1987 developed retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) as an infant, and after two surgeries, was left completely blind in one eye (retina detached) and very near sighted vision in the other. At 35 he developed a very dense cataract on his "good eye," which we found out is not uncommon for people who suffered with ROP as an infant. Dr. Lauer spoke extremely highly of Dr. K (even though they had never met) saying that Dr. K's qualifications are off the charts, he has a reputation of a highly successful and skilled surgeon, and he spends time getting to know his patients and is very personable. This was SO important to us because our son is slightly disabled and has a difficult time communicating, and with only one eye to begin with, we wanted the most qualified and experienced surgeon available. Dr. K was everything we had heard he was and more. His staff was very nice and professional, and Dr. K spent a LOT of time with us, explaining everything in great detail in language we could understand, and assuring us that he felt very confident that not only could the cataract be safely removed and replaced with an artificial lens, but our son would likely have greatly improved vision over what he had before. Dr K also took every precaution -- sending us to a retina specialist for a second opinion on surgery, and having secondary pre-op appointments, double and triple checking measurements/pressure/etc. The surgery was a breeze -- twenty minutes--and the results life changing. Our son does not even need glasses anymore, and he is thrilled about that, and can see better than he ever has. Throughout the process (several months) we continued to be impressed with how optimistic and positive Dr. K was, and to find that he is a Christian who prays to God before every surgery. He has our highest recommendation!
