Still one of my favs for a sweet treat and refreshing drink. Staff is always welcoming and place is well kept and clean. Looking forward to coming back to get some food!

    Rum Cake

We tried the rum cake slice to-go and it was delicious! Definitely a 10/10 dessert for me! The cake itself was moist and fluffy, not too sweet. We warmed it up and paired it with vanilla bean ice cream, definitely hit the spot. Don't have much of opinion on service since we ordered to-go, but the individual helping was friendly. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, especially looks nice for brunch (nice outdoor seating). Would love to come back to try to dine-in. Overall, would definitely come back for the rum cake!

I thought the food was okay. My chilaquiles were immediately soggy and I would have liked some more crunch on them. The sandwich was good with sweet potato fries and whatever dipping sauce they had with it is amazing. Pretty no frills you just order at the counter and they give you a buzzer. The outdoor patio seating is cute and they have a nice little parking garage area. I would come back

The food is exceptional. You'll find many different Latin dishes on the menu here. I had ordered the Bandeja Paisa, a solid platter of different meats paired with beans, rice, fried egg, plantain, avocado and pickled onions. As for the meat; two slices of skirt steaks seasoned differently, a sausage and a fried piece of pork (lechón I believe). I have traveled through latin america for months and the flavors are spot on. I am impressed and will be recommending La Guagua. The service here is warm and an order at the counter style making it an easy casual dining experience. The lady was patient with me taking my time to examine the menu with speculation and curuosity. She affirmed my choice in my order aswell. The lady at the counter is all smiles. ¡Gracias a todos!

We've left here happy dancing every single time. It's been a minute since we been back and glad they had Toston burgers this time because it was perfectly cooked the way we like it! Crispiness, patty was perfect, and big chunk of juicy bacon... holy moly delicious and we tried the chipotle and the cilantro sauce with our fries.. yum! Then we tried the guava pastries that we spotted at the counter for sale and it was so delicious to top off our lunch date. Not overly sweet (which we prefer) and the pastry was flaky good! And of course we have to buy some mini Alfajores for our kiddos! They will tear them up! The service has always been great and now they even added a kiosk to make ordering easy with pictures. Only thing we usually prefer eating outside but due to construction it was a bit too loud for us to converse so they kindly changed our order for to go and we ate nearby at downtown Vacaville which was nice! We will always definitely be back!

We have frequented La Guagua several times since they relocated to Vacaville and have enjoyed it every time. We most recently had lunch and enjoyed Ropa Vieja that is shredded beef braised with sweet peppers, onions, garlic, tomato, served with congris, tostones and side salad. Delicious! We also ordered the Churrasco Steak sandwich. Both were prepared promptly but with care. Delicious at it came. No additional seasoning needed. Outdoor seating only, but in the beautiful weather we enjoy, the music and decorations make for a relaxing and satisfying time. I highly recommend you gone then a try.

This was a Latin Burger with sweet potato Fries.

Chicken with pico de gallo, yuca fries, and white rice

Variety of delicious Latin dishes served in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere! Parking was easy to find in the lot. I had a weekday lunch with my fiance here. The lady at the counter was patient with us while we browsed the menu. Honestly it was hard to choose because everything looked/sounded so good. We placed our order, paid, and took a seat. * Pollo panameno with yuca fries upgrade - tender and flavorful chicken with a fragrant side of rice and refreshing pico de galllo. Loved the crispy and soft yuca fries too. * Bistec encebollado, steak option - the steak was tender and the accompanying salad, rice, beans, and plantains were tasty too. * Guava and cheese pastelito - we shared 1 piece before we tried our entrees. Yummy, flaky, and just the right amount of sweet! I'd probably get 1 just for myself next time. * Horchata iced latte - we shared the small size and it was a great start to our lunch! Not too sweet, smooth, and perfect balance between the horchata and coffee flavors. Out of the restaurants I've found so far around the area, La Guagua is a unique lunch option that I'm so glad to have nearby. I plan to come back and sample more of their offerings. Thinking of ordering the parillada, empanadas, and alfajores next time. I will come with an empty stomach!

We got the run cake slice cause we were craving something sweet to bring home. It was amazing. We paired it with some ice cream at home and it was perfect. The service was great at the spot too. Definitely coming back for more food items. Nice decor and clean

Saw some reviews and my friends and I decided to have lunch at La Guagua. Definitely a spot we will return to again. Small shop with nice, outdoor seating. Especially nice on a beautiful day like today. I went with the Cubano sandwich and regular fries. Washed it down with a Limonado Cubana. The drink was refreshing and not overpowering. Sandwich was well sized and delicious. Made fresh so expect a short wait. Friends ordered the Churassco sandwich and Tostones Camerones and Ropa Vieja respectively. Their dishes looked amazing as well. The Tostones was a hit with my friends, while the Churassco, while enjoyed, was deemed a slight less enjoyable than the Cubano (we split sandwiches). Fresh-cut French Fries were delicious as well. Added a little salt and they tasted great with a copy of sauces that came with the meal. Various pastries and other meals look good to try as well. I'll post an update when we return.

I have been here twice and enjoyed it both times. The food is delicious and definitely something hard to find in town. The employees are always helpful. I wish they had indoor seating for colder days but I understand it's very small inside. Pricing is fair and i haven't had an issue with parking.

I was in the area and I wanted to try something different than what you find in Nut Tree. A little further drive will take you to this gem. The cubano I ordered was delicious. They don't come cheap at around $15 but it came with a side of fries. This definitely hit the spot for me and I'm glad I was able to try it.

The food is just ok. A lot of things we have tried have been dry and bland. We keep going back for those guava empanadas.

I ordered a carnitas bowl with black beans, rice, and all the toppings you'd typically find in a carnitas burrito, while my wife went with a cheese quesadilla. While waiting for our food, I enjoyed a bottle of Pacifico and some chips and salsa. The salsa had a nice balance, not too spicy and not too mild. The carnitas were tender and flavorful, and the bowl was filling without feeling overly heavy, and my wife was happy with her quesadilla as well. The restaurant has a bright, inviting atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. A couple of tables hadn't been cleaned yet when we arrived, but we quickly found a clean spot and settled in. The food arrived promptly, and overall we had a very enjoyable meal. I'd definitely stop here again.

My evaluation is based on the pollo verde--which was an outstanding flavor at the prior location. I ordered a burrito and there is no flavor in this sauce. It's practically inedible, honestly. Having been a regular at the Peabody location, this is a shocking departure, and I can only assume there was a loss in talent back of the house in the transition. But since a restaurant is only as good as its food, this is a significant loss. I hope something changes, it's wild to have to close the clamshell on a Villa Corona pollo verde burrito, but close it I must. edit: Thanking owner Carlos for his response, but I have to assume it's a different batch than the one I tasted Monday. I've been a big fan of Villa Corona for years and the Peabody location was my spot; but even then I had a strong preference for the pollo verde from that location over the Nut Tree. I'll stop in again for sure, but may have to try some of the sauce with chips before ordering.
