After some shoe shopping, I was curious to see the action at the food court. Sad to see that a lot of the food spots have closed recently. Spotted Taqueria Mi Mezcal and checked my Yelp app to see it was worth a try. The 4 star rating was my green light! Lots of choices here! I ordered the shrimp burrito. The shrimp was perfectly cooked and there was a generous portion of meat. Great balance of meat, rice, beans, etc. pretty solid burrito for a mall food court. The chips and salsa were basic. I ate at Taqueria Mi Mezcal for dinner weeks ago, and completely forgot to write a review. Oops. It's never too late, and here I am! I stopped by due to a strong shrimp taco craving. The guy who took my order was pleasant and patient while I browsed the menu. I ordered the shrimp tacos (3...and make em crispy!!), chips and salsa (I believe these were complimentar), beans and rice, with Mexican coke. Not only was the food delicious, the portions were generous for the price! I was pretty full from the crispy shrimp tacos alone. I was pretty happy! 3/29/25 - I was out shopping and I got very hungry. I passed a couple of places but the prices were absorbent for what you were getting. So I kept on walking down to the food court. First, I stopped at the steak place and then I saw the taqueria and I love tacos. So, tacos it was!!! I ordered two crispy tacos and a strawberry juice. I forgot how much it was but it wasn't bad. I waited just a few minutes before she was calling my number. When I sat down I started preparing my salsa and green sauce for my tacos. They also give you a small bag of tortilla chips. I love the flavor of the salsa--good & spicy!!! The tacos came on a plate wrapped in foil, those tacos were so hot & crispy. I loved them!!! This establishment is part of the food court in Fairfield's mall. The ambiance of the food court is a mixture of people, it's not a separate entity. read more

This place is hella good! It is by far one of the better Mexican spots here in Fairfield. It's crazy that these people don't have an actual spot because they deserve one. Food is great, staff is very nice. 4 Stars because the Horchata they have is nasty, and I'm a huge horchata connoisseur so I was entirely disappointed when I bought it. Perhaps I went on a bad day where it went bad or something, but I've been there quite a few times since then and haven't bought the horchata again. I used to come here almost everyday for lunch because I worked in the mall too. I always ordered the veggie taco salad. The owner was always so nice and friendly and always remembered my order and me. I came back recently and the new woman at the counter was not nice and was even argumentative. After I paid, they told me my order number and it was even printed on the receipt, 63. After a few minutes they were calling 64 and I went up because the woman looked right at me. I asked if it was mine because I'm 63 and the woman got mad and said "it's the taco salad right? No you're 64." I took it anyway because i didn't want to deal with the attitude. I didn't know if it was even vegetarian because she didn't specify and it was not my number but luckily it was mine. I won't be going back because of that experience. First time we went there we got the Carne Asada Burrito and it was so good my boyfriend said "WOW" everytime he took a bite. So I tried out the taco Tuesday $2 tacos. I got 6 carne asada and 4 pastor just to try it. The PASTOR taco was soo freaking good i wosh i had made it all pastor. So the meat taste varies but still a really good place to go. I've been wanting to try this place and I must say...Delicious! They even have $2 Taco Tuesday. They are a bit pricey but who isn't nowadays. Tacos were bomb and flavorful. I'm a street taco kinda girl with onions and salsa and it hit the spot. My husband got the super burrito and he ate the whole thing. Rice was not very flavorful but it was still good to me as well as the beans. I would definitely come back again. Complimentary chips and salsa which is a plus! I ordered take out chile relleno tonight. I used to like their chile relleno. It was awful! The relleno was soggy, the sour cream tasted rancid and the guacamole tasted funny already. Each time I eat in this place this is what I always order but tonight I was so upset. I was served something like it was going to go bad but still served it anyways. Had the opportunity to come to this taqueria again. We ended up ordering some carnita tacos, a shredded chicken red wet burrito (super) and the super nachos with carne asada. We also got the hibiscus agua fresca on the side. Everything was delicious. The salsa on the tacos was refreshing and just the right amount of heat. The different meats were cooked to perfection - well seasoned and tender. Every plate was piled high with meat and toppings. Taqueria mi Mezcal is hands down my FAVORITE place everrrr to get a burrito, but specifically their shrimp burrito. I have gone to other Mexican taquerias and i have yet to find a burrito that taste just as good at this one..my mouth is watering just thinking about it. I am very picky with how i prefer my burrito and this place makes them exactly how i like them. The shrimp in the burrito taste so good and doesn't have the taste/texture that other taquerias tend to have when making their shrimp burritos. I go there every single week. It's literally an obsession. The owner/workers there are always so kind and have great customer service. They recently catered an event for us at work (review also left below) and everyone was pleased. I cant recommend this place enough its literally my favorite.
