Had a great Lunch a couple of days ago at a new Restaurant in Fairfield! The Restaurant is Gusto Al Gusto at 201 Travis Blvd. The place has been remodeled. Super clean place and wonderful food & service was great! I had the 3 Taco plate which I picked my own choices, Carne Asada, Carnitas & Birria. The chips were definitely not from a bag, thick and made there. The salsa was mild so you can spice it up or ask for some hot stuff. I will certainly be back! read more

Really authentic and delicious Mexican food! The staff is super nice and was very attentive to our group. We were never waiting more than a moment or two for anything. The molcajete marisco was fantastic! The garlic shrimp and birria quesadillas were great as well. The drinks were well done too, the michelada camron was very tasty and a good portion. The bucket of beers is a good deal too. The vibe is bright and inviting but very chill as well. They've got a small bar too. Certainly come back for some great food and drinks! read more

This place has the looks of a great food spot but the actual food doesnt live up to that expectation. We went in 1/30/26 at 5pm, we ordered the carne en su jugo and the camarones a la cucharacha as well as a michelada. The carne en su jugo was decently flavored but the beans to meat ratio was off. Barely enough beans. The camarones a la cucaracha were a bad experience, the cook is supposed to be crispy and marinade is supposed to be spicy, neither of which were true. Also serving the shrimp with the head on and not deveined would have been nice to know before hand. The michelada was heavy on the juice and not so much the beer, not my preference but a decent michelada. The waitress only came to our table three times, to take our order, to drop off the food and to charge us. Also when she dropped off the food she didnt give us utensils, so i had to ask for them, its not a big deal, but when things start turning to a bad experience those small details start to matter a bit more. In the end the waitress apologized for not checking up on us throughout our stay, she said the other waitress had gone on break and she was swamped with all the tables. I mentioned to her the camarones were not very good and the marinade was sweet almost like a terayaki flavor when it was supposed to be spicy and lemony. She agreed and told me the cook that usually makes it had gone on break as well so the back up cook that was working didnt make them properly. I left that place disappointed I had just spent $65 for minimal customer service and sub-par food. This place may be worth another try in the future, maybe their mariscos are the thing to get, maybe we just went in at the wrong time, maybe their still ironing out the details. New spot that took over CJFusion which was a good idea. Grew up in the Mission in Frisco with the Mexican side of the family and was craving Mexican, saw this place and took my little family to eat. Food is good and fresh which the waitress, cashier, server, jack of all trades was awesome. I had the carne en su jugo and shit shmacks. Will I be back? This restaurant was clean, bright and inviting. The service was excellent. Our server was caring and checked on us often. I have food allergies and they were very, very accommodating to my food allergies. I ordered three Carne Asada tacos. My husband ordered three chicken tacos. They were regular sized corn tortillas, not street sized. There was ample meat in each taco. However, my tacos were cold. Not room temperature, but cold. The Carne Asada was dry and so was the chicken. There was very little flavor in the tacos. The salsa was mediocre as well. read more

Walked-in immediately greeted with a housewarming vibe, the food was delicious the menudo I had took my mind back to my " rancho" in Mexico. I highly recommend this place next time. I'll be sure to order the ceviche sampler with three different types of ceviche. read more

Ambiance is nice, went for Mother's Day and they took almost 20 minutes for them to bring us the menu when people after us got their menu instantly. (It wasn't crowded when we first got there) they didn't refill our waters until I asked and server didn't come back to take our orders for over 25 minutes after bringing us chips and salsa. Unfortunately I felt like they were more catering to bigger groups and forgetting groups that are 4 and under. Food was okay I ordered some seafood and it was good. My partner ordered quesabirrias and it was the flattest quesabirrias I ever seen almost no meat he was very disappointed. read more

Service was very slow. We had the molcajete mixed seafood and meat but didn't see any shrimp as indicated on the menu. We waited almost 15 minutes for menus and once we ordered our drinks we had to wait another 10 minutes to get them and only got them after having to remind our waitress. Newly opened and it was obvious they are working out the bugs of opening a family owned restaurant. All staff were friendly and attentive. They seem to be under staffed but even the owner was out busing tables and helping customers. I enjoyed the food and the ambience of the restaurant. Me and my mom decided to try out this place since they recently just opened. $8 for ONE tostada??? That's is way too expensive in my opinion. We both decided to order carne en su jugo, expecting to get a large serving of meat in a plate. When the food arrived, me and my mom were shocked, the portion of meats was almost nothing, it's like someone gave us the scraps. I saw another waitress bring out a torta ahogada and it was worse, just half of the torta with rabbit sized onions on the side. We were honestly disappointed and nothing against the waitress, she was sweet to give us the recommendation but this review is for the manager/owner/s. Unfortunately, we won't be back again, this establishment needs to do better. (Go to La Cabaña, that restaurant is the best! Much cheaper, delicious, and bigger portions. read more

We decided to come here to try this new restaurant that opened up in FF. This very location always seems to have restaurants come and go so we hoped this restaurant would be better than the two that were here before. To start off, the service is okay. Our original server was very nice but during our meal, she was off. Which is fine, of course! However, our new sever didn't really check up on us at all... When we were done, the server dropped off the bill and never really directed where we should pay so we put our card in the black folder thing and had it set up like what you would with most restaurants... We ended up sitting there for a minute (and she even saw us...) So after a few mins I ended up just heading to the front to pay. It would've been nice to know that's where we're supposed to go pay when she dropped off the bill. Or they could have a big sign that is viewable that says that. Food wise... It was very bland. None of the dishes had any flavor to them. We tried the quesabirria tacos and the pine rellena... We didn't really like it so we decided to pack it up. Food was also expensive and drinks were okay, but the jamaica tasted very syrupy. Chips and salsa were provided too (and Free I believe) but the salsa was so spicy and had no flavor. Overall, not going to come back. Sorry, I really wanted to give it a chance but not worth it. read more

Drove into Fairfield & stopped at this restaurant. They greeted my family & I & they seated us quickly. Host was very nice & polite. Waiter came & asked us for what we would like to drink, drinks came back fast & the Michelada con camaron was amazing! Definitely will order again! Had the shrimp ceviche with mango & wow! Soo good! There is a young man who shares views of local restaurants. Gusto al Gusto got a rave from him. We tried it and it was awful. They were short help so I won't comment on the service; however, the food was awful. Don't expect them to last long. Ordered beans and rice to go with my entree. Just a bowl of white beans with no seasoning except salt - so salty could not eat it. Rice just plain no seasoning except salt. too salty to eat. sent it back. To start with the chips were disgusting. Just some rusty red blocks of ??? Taco Bell and Del Taco have chips ten times better also prices were too high for what you get. read more

Cool little spot, we are from out of town and wanted a couple quick tacos and this was the closest place. Decided to take them to go and eat them on the drive. Got the carne asada tacos 3 for 16$ and after tax was 17 and some change. Gave them 20$. Quite disappointed in it. Meat flavor was like dog food and was dry shells were soggy and flimsy. No salsa in bag or nothing so just onions and cilantro. Won't be back read more
