Nice restaurant not great. Neighborhood not so much. Run down and sketchy. Hardly No parking. Food came out somewhat on time and it was tasty. However, my "pork chop con con" were extremely dry. Rice and salad were super small portions. It wasn't the best experience. One and done here, Honestly.

I liked this place because they were very accommodating for our group of 5 without reservations. Food takes awhile to come out, but hopefully that's because it's made fresh! We enjoyed most of our dishes. The empanadas and corn fritters were delish and probably what we enjoyed most! Service was great, our server was very attentive as were some of the other staff.

Authentic Puerto Rican food. Absolutely delicious. Atmosphere is great, service is excellent. Highlight was the food. By far, the best restaurant we have experienced here in Puerto Rico. We will be back again soon!

Awesomeness! Great food! Great service! I highly recommend this spot if you are in Arecibo! We were looking for a dinner spot and came across this gem! We'll be back!

Found this place while visiting Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Food was excellent and service was great. I wish I could remember the names of the two dishes I had here but both were excellent. Food and service was so good we visited twice. Both of my dishes were steak cooked medium rare. Not as rare as I like but still good. My sister had chicken wrapped in bacon - also excellent. Mojitos were yummy! See photos for reference.

We arrived Arecibo 9:30 PM and were famished! Luckily, this place was still open. When we walked in, I think locals thought we must have been lost. We walked in with shorts and dirty hiking shoes, as everyone else was dressed semi formally. At this hour, most people looked like they were there for drinks, but food was still being served. No one spoke English except for the bartender, but the language barrier was not that big of a deal. You can get away with knowing pretty little Spanish here. My boyfriend got the shrimp mofongo with tangy garlic sauce and I got beef steak with a side of sweet plantains. Mofongo is pretty much one of their national dishes. It's made of fried green plantains and mashed up in a mortar. Out of all mofongos we've tried, La Guirra's was one of the best ones we've had this whole trip. They aren't stingy with the shrimp either. It's topped with 2 large shrimps, but beneath the mofongo mound, you will find even more! My beef steak wasn't necessarily a steak. It was sorta grounded. It was a bit dry, but it had a good flavor. The sweet plantains were delicious! Each dish came with salad topped with a tangy dressing and to us, this was so important! Throughout our trip, vegetables seemed scarce. We learned most of PR's produce is imported from California, thus, expensive and hard to come by. Our meal was delicious and affordable. I would definitely come back if I was in Arecibo again! If you want to try what we had, ask for "mofongo de camarones y ajo" and "bistec y plátanos maduros." ¡Delicioso! Nos encantó el mofongo de camarones y plátanos maduros !

The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, and the service was excellent from beginning to end, from the hostess to the servers and bussers. Our server, Jeffery, was amazing! He was energetic, professional, attentive, and you can genuinely tell he takes his position seriously. I loved that! We were greeted with complimentary sopa de plátano and bacalaítos, and I was NOT expecting to love them as much as I did. This was by far the best sopa de plátano I've ever had. I never thought I could fall in love with a soup, but here we are! (I ordered a whole extra regular size bowl )The bacalaítos were another surprise because they're normally not something I order or even particularly like--and I've tried quite a few in my life--but these were absolutely delicious. My S/O and I shared the churrasco with arroz mamposteao, along with a side of avocado salad and majado de viandas. Everything was a straight 10/10. Not one disappointment on the table. They also make an amazing Rojo Pico, which was the perfect addition to the experience. 100% recommend Casita Miramar. Don't overthink JUST GO! Beautiful atmosphere, excellent service, and most importantly, genuinely delicious, quality Puerto Rican food. This place absolutely deserves the hype and its spot in my top two!

We were also addicted to the parcha lemonade. That is a must-order. The empanadillas are awesome and I couldn't get enough of the pork (Order the mofongo with broth and fried pork!) When the Churrasco Mofongo ($27.99) finally came out, the portion size was surprisingly small and did not reflect the price at all. For nearly $28, I expected a much more substantial serving and better overall value. What made the experience even more frustrating was that I also ordered four pastelitos at $2.99 each, and those ended up providing more food and better value than the $27.99 Churrasco Mofongo. It's hard to justify paying nearly $28 for an entrée when a few appetizers totaling less than half the price leave you feeling like you received more for your money. To make matters worse, the staff was largely inattentive throughout the visit. It was difficult to get anyone's attention, there were no updates regarding the long wait, and customer service felt like an afterthought, only because the question "Can I have an update on my order" was asked to the staff. A 44-minute wait can be understandable during busy times, but keeping customers informed goes a long way, especially when multiple families sat, ate, and left before receiving the order. Overall, despite the churrasco mofongo tasting really good, between the excessive wait time, the lack of attentiveness from staff, and the disappointing portion size, I left feeling that the meal was not worth the price. I hope management takes a closer look at both the service and the value being provided to customers.
